I loved shooting this too. The drive through the Napa Valley was so majestic! I could totally live there. Berkley was amazing too. Talk about perfect weather!
I wish I would have had time to video him in his food forest. But, there was construction off in the distance so we decided to do it inside. This was heavy backlit and my run and gun for travel by plane small light couldn't really outpower that backlighting. But, gotta work with whatcha got! It's so neat seeing Madeleine swinging in the background :)
Her video was sweet too, which you can see here: ua-cam.com/video/VqC1mmS0B6E/v-deo.html

I started having dreams that I WAS the chicken I was going to eat, the wasp I was going to spray, etc. I would see and feel the suffering. It is a relief indeed to be in alignment with what my spirit knows to be true.

This hits home because I believe in reencarnation, and I believe that the physical form in which we are reborn may be chosen for us (maybe if we evolve enough we get to choose), so that we can work our karma (to feel on our own skin what we may have done to others). So I started thinking: what if a carnivore human dies and it returns as an animal that is considered "food"? Woudn't that be ironic and terrifying?
I personally have the ability to feel as they feel (some call this "animal empath"). I've had nightmares hearing them being killed in a slaughter house. As I go to sleep, I often get taken by visions (like a movie) of things I know are factual. And when I see the eyes of a suffering animal I get so overwhelmed with grief and sadness, as if it's being transferred to me energetically. In a way, I hear them. There are no words that I know that can describe the blows they receive from humans. From being abandoned by the only people the know and love so much (pets), to being separated from parents and friends (farm animals shipped away), to the scary and draining trip to a slaughter house, to the somber realization to what's gonna happen next as they get in the kill line. The overwhem smells of stress hormones and blood. The unfamiliar and loud startling noises, the fences, the inability to move, the fast pace in which all of this happening....as they see the ones ahead of them being killed, opened up, crying in agony. This is when I go silent because I simply can't put into words what I know that they feel. Think of a small child who is so loved at a safe home and one day she gets stolen from her family by a psychopath who will rape and murder her. THAT.
My heart breaks all of the time.

believe or not I became vegetarian in Argentina ( all they eat there is meat) in 1973 and the reason was that I had visions and dreams since I was a little kid that I was a cow about to be killed in a slaughter house. Other life? perhaps.
Then I became vegan in 2003 when I find out how milk extraction was done.

I've been vegan for about 20 years and before that 20 years as vegetarian. I usually never watch things about veganism, because to be honest it's usually annoying. Most of the time it's because people have totally missed the point and focus on the health and beauty side and not the purpose or protest side. The interviews on this channel are positive and beautiful and examples of what veganism truly is and spoken thoughtfully through some incredible and kind people. I'm here for it🔥

I felt the same way. Bought his audiobook and CD's then I met him and his wife in person at a conference. They were not friendly at all. We were a small group who went to listen to his talk and even attended his cooking class. Both he and his wife were cold. Nothing like his books and music. I regret paying so much money to meet this pseudo-spiritual businessman. After taking pictures with him, he asked us to send him the photos we had taken, which we did, and he never even thanked us.

Decades ago in Paris I heard a street musician and in a moment the music sent me. Formant is a musical term that has to do with resonance and frequency ....a certain roundess of sound that fills the immediate area. In my mind the notes touch on something unseen and powerful. I've listened for it since then. I've been vegetarian and later vegan for 40 years. 'Formant' has become a lifestyle.... a gift in many ways from what I digest.

Pro tip for anyone who's not vegan yet but really wants to be. Potatoes help me a lot. Whenever I get a chicken craving or some other dense food craving, I just have some steamed potatoes with an amazing sauce. I don't have the potatoes with any oil though because the oil mixed with the starches don't digest well. Anyways, potatoes give me that full satisfied feeling. Look up Dr. Mcdougall. You can actually live on potatoes for a pretty long time to help reset your system. Anthony William Medical Medium also says that you can do a potato mono cleanse to help too recover the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. I did the potato mono cleanse when I was deathly ill and it got me back to health. I'm so thankful to these people who are representing this important information.

I am nearly 69yrs of age and went veggie at 50 and vegan 8 yrs later and have never felt fitter and better. When we know better and different we can feel, and be better. I love to be inspired by the truth and by others. Progress can only be made in this world when something stops working or is found out to be corrupt and cruel. I love living this way of life and it uplifts me when i hear inspiring true stories.

I lived in Berlin in the shared flat with vegans. The requirement to get the room there was ”no meat or dairy profucts in the fridge”- so to say: vegans welcome.
In Berlin, I learned to become vegan because so many people there were vegans, also organic products are easy to get and there are several vegan restaurants and even in normal restaurats, there are good vegan meals on the menu. It was simply an easy choise. And as I practised yoga, I noticed that I cannot eat heavy food like meat and practise well. Basically, yoga made me lose my appetite. I did not need lots of food.
Then I moved back to my country to Scandinavia and realised that they are 100 years behind in veganism here. We do not have such a great amounts vegetables available as they have in Middle Europe or elsewhere. We do have vegetarian restaurants but not so many. Fortunately, one is near to my workplace and there we like to go for a lunch. For my joy, my workmates like vegetarian (vegan) food as well.
But, imagine that traditionally we have the climate of 5 months plain winter. Veggies or and grass, not even trees grow that time. What else could our ancestors do than hunt a deer or fish? There were not many choises. We did not have brocolli, cauliflower, pumpking seeds etc. It is a long tradition to eat meat.

Those animals they ate had to eat plants so plants can grow and our ancestors that were nomadic early explorers may have had these challenges but not the ones the remained closer to the equator.

Besides that, he has the fresh Cali tan, the body and mind of a 25-yr-old (in terms of sharpness), and he's not hunchback and walking with a cane. I'm convinced - I've been sold to veganism. The way I went vegetarian was to eliminate pork and red meat for the first 6 months. For the next 6 months, I eliminated poultry. Last 6 months, I eliminated fish/seafood. By that time I only consumed dairy products which I accepted as "no kill." That was 20 years ago. About 6 years ago I became vegan after learning about illnesses related to dairy products as well as the horrible conditions captive animals must live under in order to get us to have dairy products. I was a caregiver for elderly parents and a grandmother for 20+ years. I saw the problems of the Standard American Diet through dealing with my relatives' health problems. None of them was overweight but suffered from high blood pressure, heart disease, arthritis, etc. They all took medications from about age 40 although they lived to old age (parents to age 78 and 80, grandmother to age 92) but were debilitated. I take no medications and I am 60. I am happy I was able to change. Just wish I had done so back in college. Thank you for this video.

I wouldn't be able to say but a quick search showed a site I glanced through this post quick and would for starters say be careful with kimchi, esp. if you buy it because it tends to be high in sodium. Another quick search shows NIH talking about it www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3439575/. and Dr. Greger has an old but probably still relevant video on it nutritionfacts.org/video/is-kimchi-good-for-you/

    • @VeganLinked

NPR talks about it in general stating in the South Korean temple diet there is "no meat and no fish and no MSG," she says. "And no garlic, no onion, no green onion, no spring onion, or leek.""
However, I enjoy onions allium and they're very good at fighting some significant cancers "When it comes to eating nutritious foods that may play a role in cancer prevention, studies have shown the two best vegetable families for preventing cancers include cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, kale, cauliflower and cabbage), and alliums (including garlic, onions and leeks). Both types of vegetables provide a host of benefits and can aid in preventing diseases." nutritionfacts.org/topics/onions/ So, you may just want to embrace a whole food plant based diet, a style that suits you for your region but encompassing the categories from the Daily Dozen by nutritionfacts.org nutritionfacts.org/daily-dozen/

I just went on Amazon and I just got 4 vegan korean diet books and one vegan korean temple diet on kindle unlimited.

@@VeganLinked the one thing unique about korean food is they make a fermented soybean sauce/paste that is rich in B12. I think they let if ferment for 6 months or longer. It might explain their longevity as vegans. if i find it in the books, I will share, but probably it can only be found in the scientific studies. A long time ago, I saw a study about the concentration of B12 and it is much higher than anything found in typical fermented soy products.

I have been plant based since 2012 and love it. While the information is valuable, truth is there are some people even our own relatives that will never give up meat or seafood and just won't be convinced of veganism despite whatever we ourselves do. This is where we follow Dr. Tuttle's message of compassion, understanding and acceptance of others as he preaches. Plus, trust all know that as we all live different lifestyles we cannot all follow the exact same vegan routine as truly unrealistic, though we can always do what we can with reality of our situations. God bless!

    • @larryllama5225

Be careful you don't consider human's feelings more than the victim's -- the animals. There's nothing "unrealistic" about being vegan for anybody. I notice you specified you were plant-based, not vegan. To vegans, animals come first and we will always speak up and advocate for them. TBH I think many plant-based would just like us to keep quiet.
