What is WITPAC Certification?

Wind Industry Transportation Professional Advanced Certification (WITPAC) is a specialized training course for personnel who transport Oversize/Overweight (OS/OW) wind components. If you are a pilot car operator or escort (P/EVO), truck driver, or steerman, WITPAC certification may eventually be a requirement any person involved in the movement of wind industry components.
The WITPAC training course and certification will be administered by Evergreen Safety Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transportation safety. WITPAC is an initiative of a group of industry leaders including GE Renewable Energy, Siemens Gamesa, and Vestas. Program development has taken place with the cooperation of transportation safety experts including Pit Row Legal Solutions and a number of specialized carriers in the wind industry.

Well it’s now required and the whole thing doesn’t train you anymore then the regular pilot certification class. Since witpac has came out seems like all the new pilot car drivers with it are terrible drivers and have no idea what to do. I could create a class that explains what to do 100 times better then this

I have a couple questions. Does this training now or will it ever. Have any association with our insurance rates. Like will we get a discount on our insurance rates. If not what difference is this versus the other escort certifications that are already out here being enforced by the state laws
