In SB yes you can WEP more than 1 min, but it will left you vurnerable with overheat engine and swarming angry spitfires on your 6. Personally I do 1 min WEP with 100% rads open then proceed at 1.15 ata to 4.5km alt in F4/trop

My favorite plane in the game (and favorite WW2 plane as well)! Such a joy to fly, I feel like it’s a perfect balance between engine power, speed, and maneuverability. Thanks to the fact that it’s lighter than the G models with only slightly worse climb, even I was able to carry a match in a deliberate uptier with 3 friends flying 109 G-10s. Also the overheating is kind of fun to manage with MEC. Lastly, the GLORIOUS GERMAN AIR BRAKE!
Its just an OP plane. Heavily biased and not true to specs. For instance. The p47 was the fastest diving prop fighter plane of ww2. That is a well known fact. Yet in this game a bf109 can out dive a p47 which is just wrong.

At 24,000ft my optimum performance alt in a p47, flying at 405mph, with a bf109 .98 below me and can somehow pull up and gain on me while I maintain a straight line and yet the bf109 can catch me and shoot me down while it pulls up. Also don’t believe the dive. Start a 5-10 degree dive at 24,000ft bc I have a Ta153 or bf109 on my 6 and they usually catch me and shoot me down by 10,000ft. Energy fight means nothing in this horribly crafted game.
@Bilbo Fappins Game is also trash when they have things like a J7W japanese push plane, which was experimental, never saw combat and suffered from severe vibrations and engine failure out flying f4u-4s and p51 mustangs. Its just hogwash.
I think that spitfire might've broken off to try and bait you into chasing and climbing so he can use his high alt performance, but they might've panicked seeing you close in, either that or they didn't know how to deal with a bf109 very well and tried to bait for his team instead. That's something I'll do a lot of the time against people at higher alts when they outperform me - just try to drag them down and have a teammate sideclimb above them.
I was playing the G-2/trop one time and pilot sniped a P-51 with a single 20 mm shell. Have no idea how; and I'm sure I couldn't do it again if I tried.
I’d say the g6 is generally easier to use (feels like a diet super prop and has slightly better guns) but it’s repair is a bit high and it gets uptiered to 5.7. alas I still used the f4 to grind out lots more events and rp. and I’ve never had as good a match as you did this video in my g6, truly skillful flying!
That map is great for terrain fighting in realistic. But when I first started playing in arcade half the maps are like that and with the increased tempo it is really awesome looping around mountains and canyons

Although it has a great climb, good turn and energy retention, sometimes landing a single cannon shot in the propeller hub can be tricky enough to empty the ammo quickly :P

While these modifications allowed for prolonged service life in harsh environments like the Russian veld and Libya's desert, it also (marginally) costs top speed and engine performance due to increased air resistance and power diversion for the filtered aspirator, although these are hardly noticeable in combat.
I think the SCG switch for the Mk IX is about 5.5km depending on the map, but at 4.5km it still is losing power. Nice flying amd with 4 minutes to spare!!
This plane is absolute cancer in AB. There's one or two of them every match at altitude and they are impossible for anything else at the BR to really deal with if flown competently

It's always fun to fly against skilled Messerschmitts, I have to use wits to win with my A6M. But oh god, please remove the BVs and Me264s from the fight between me and them!
What I mean is that on some maps german bombs spot us fighters by flying 1.5km above our climb route without any interception. While they get tactical advantages and more options, we can't expect such contribution from US bombers... On maps like Ladoga, where fighter and bomber routes don't intersect, I can climb while keeping my presence secret
F4 with 15mm pods with cermet core bullets make a caos on ground battles, you should try it, also I love using the G6, for me it is the best plane of its BR

Great game, you played this like a chess game, perfect stuff, congrats. Must had been quite depressing irl to have your whole plane in tact but need to crash land due to stuff like tail control damage. On retrospect I'm sure they were thanking god it was only tail control damage instead of being obliterated.
Haven't played for a couple of years now. longer even. But with out doubt this is my go to fighter. I think this model was close to the best at that time in the war. later models even though better in some regards were losing the race against ever better fighters from the States, Russia and the UK.
I want you to try the french sb2c with gun pods. It's an interesting play style, I use it like a support by trying to take out fighters climbing from their AF for my own team to get a fighter advantage
It is indeed the best of the best 109, it could tackle P-51C and P-47s in "uptiered" SB EC 3 (in IRL F4 will face Spit V and Spit I, Hurri and Tomahawk more especially in Africa). As I said before, ace in a flight in this plane is a common sight!
Hey Adam, I was playing with P51Ds these days. It is truely amazing when there's team work going on. But that rarely happen. Including myself, players don't know much how to setup baits, stratergies for duos against a single, dual or triple enemies, what enemy to attack kinda things. Can you do something about it so we can learn, please?... Love your work by the way...
That's the nature of disorganized teams in a team-based game. Just picking up on baits and tips in my videos should help. The issue is getting enough people to learn about baiting though.
I personally prefer the g2. It climbs a bit better and the gunpods that have actual mg 151s not the 15mm ones make it really nice. I find it hard to work with only one cannon in f4 as the 15mm gunpods are next to useless.
Imo XP55 is not quite as good as XP50 or maybe people just don't know how to fly it. That's at least my experience whenever I fly the BF 109 F4. XP55 is pretty easy to win by taking him to low speed fight but once there is a XP50 on my tail I have no idea how to get it off.
True, but you can attaché and use keyboard to activate/deactivate MEC and prop pitch. Then use a binding on your console for pitch up or down. I'm still learning what Adam teaches us, but it should be possible with this combination 😉

Biggest tips for the P-51 Stay over 350kmh if at all possible. Gentle turns if possible. Keep maneuvers in the vertical if you can afford to lose the speed. But your drag is significantly lower at high speeds and low angles of attack. Use MEC. Perma-wep, 100% prop, 75-100% rads. Master the diving side to side overshoot bait. Essentially you pull the higher enemy into a dive above his compression speed. You roll side to side with a bit of rudder and pull g’s to bleed speed. They will try to follow but they cannot maneuver sharp enough to bleed their speed. They will overshoot. Then you follow them up shooting all the way.

To be honest I like the Bf 109 F-4 a lot, for both its technological and aesthetic aspects. But this plane feels just too easy at 4.0, not even sure if the picture would change if it got 4.3. So, instead I'm flying the Spitfire F Mk.IX, in which many people manage to absolutely suck. And to be frank, I have no regrets, because wrecking havoc upon overconfident 109s is a bliss. Reversals for life.
GG fighters ! Personnellement je préfère le G2/trop (j'ai pas le G2 premium ^^). Il me semble que le G2/trop a de meilleurs performances à haute altitude (ou du moins une vitesse max plus élevée) mais il est plus lourd donc a de moins bonnes perf' de manière générale. Mais honnêtement, si préfère le G2/trop c'est surtout parce que c'est avec lui que j'ai commencé à maîtriser le gameplay en RB Avion (en 2014 donc) et surtout à apprendre à utiliser la caméra pour regarder autour de moi tout en utilisant les commandes de profondeur et le roulis :D C'est d'ailleurs avec cet avion que j'ai eu mon premier ace contre 3 P-47M et quelques Typhoons (à l'époque il y avait moins d'avions donc beaucoup de joueurs avaient les mêmes modèles, ça faisait un peu plus réaliste). Mes adversaires avaient fait beaucoup d'erreurs mais j'étais assez fier de mon ace car que j'avais du mal à regarder autour de moi tout en combattant ^^

There's a more advanced prop pitch trick than this one! But probably used in less situations than the airbrake one.

Trop is worse! It's slower than the non-trop by about 15-20km/h at sea level.

tbh the E-1 variant is the best tier for tier, very good turn fighter and with a tracer belt it pilot snipes and destroys engines like crazy
Faces new players, tough to take that into consideration when evaluating an aircraft.
It's around 2/3 the weight of the other 109s, which makes it too easy. Makes me feel unskilled because there's no real threat
There's a few enemy competitive aircraft, like XP55, XP50, Yak9U.

J21 and yak 3 can compete mostly. I can't think of much else... I'm trading 4 to 1 in AB with the F4 and I'm a mediocre pilot at best.

Hey Adam, I was playing with P51Ds these days. It is truely amazing when there's team work going on. But that rarely happen. Including myself, players don't know much how to setup baits, stratergies for duos against a single, dual or triple enemies, what enemy to attack kinda things. Can you do something about it so we can learn, please?... Love your work by the way...
That's the nature of disorganized teams in a team-based game. Just picking up on baits and tips in my videos should help. The issue is getting enough people to learn about baiting though.
I personally prefer the g2. It climbs a bit better and the gunpods that have actual mg 151s not the 15mm ones make it really nice. I find it hard to work with only one cannon in f4 as the 15mm gunpods are next to useless.
The gunpods are better indeed, but the G2Trop is actually slower at low alt by a decent margin. BR is higher too.

IMHO the best bf109 for the br is the F1, that thing is absolutely insane at 2.3 Still the F4 is a beast, best 4.0 plane imho
XP55 is very good for 4.0 as well.
Imo XP55 is not quite as good as XP50 or maybe people just don't know how to fly it. That's at least my experience whenever I fly the BF 109 F4. XP55 is pretty easy to win by taking him to low speed fight but once there is a XP50 on my tail I have no idea how to get it off.

You have other priorities on controller imo.
True, but you can attaché and use keyboard to activate/deactivate MEC and prop pitch. Then use a binding on your console for pitch up or down. I'm still learning what Adam teaches us, but it should be possible with this combination 😉

-Do a vid on the times u died and explain what u could've done better (so that we can improve as well)
-Do a vid reviewing other people's replays and see what went wrong (inspired from Long5hot)
Biggest tips for the P-51
Stay over 350kmh if at all possible. Gentle turns if possible. Keep maneuvers in the vertical if you can afford to lose the speed. But your drag is significantly lower at high speeds and low angles of attack.
Use MEC. Perma-wep, 100% prop, 75-100% rads.
Master the diving side to side overshoot bait. Essentially you pull the higher enemy into a dive above his compression speed. You roll side to side with a bit of rudder and pull g’s to bleed speed. They will try to follow but they cannot maneuver sharp enough to bleed their speed. They will overshoot. Then you follow them up shooting all the way.

To be honest I like the Bf 109 F-4 a lot, for both its technological and aesthetic aspects.
But this plane feels just too easy at 4.0, not even sure if the picture would change if it got 4.3.
So, instead I'm flying the Spitfire F Mk.IX, in which many people manage to absolutely suck.
And to be frank, I have no regrets, because wrecking havoc upon overconfident 109s is a bliss. Reversals for life.

Personnellement je préfère le G2/trop (j'ai pas le G2 premium ^^).
Il me semble que le G2/trop a de meilleurs performances à haute altitude (ou du moins une vitesse max plus élevée) mais il est plus lourd donc a de moins bonnes perf' de manière générale. Mais honnêtement, si préfère le G2/trop c'est surtout parce que c'est avec lui que j'ai commencé à maîtriser le gameplay en RB Avion (en 2014 donc) et surtout à apprendre à utiliser la caméra pour regarder autour de moi tout en utilisant les commandes de profondeur et le roulis :D
C'est d'ailleurs avec cet avion que j'ai eu mon premier ace contre 3 P-47M et quelques Typhoons (à l'époque il y avait moins d'avions donc beaucoup de joueurs avaient les mêmes modèles, ça faisait un peu plus réaliste). Mes adversaires avaient fait beaucoup d'erreurs mais j'étais assez fier de mon ace car que j'avais du mal à regarder autour de moi tout en combattant ^^
G2/Trop est en effet un peu plus rapide et a un meilleur taux de monté que le F4, mais est plus lourd comme tu dis.
