- Someone abandoned a 27" Trinitron with S-Video where I work. SO I got it, time for another small overview video

just picked up a 20" kv-20m10 from '94 and I'm loving it so far. it only has composite and coaxial but composite still looks awesome, which speaks to the quality of trinitrons. great vid

This tv is my fave! I have the same model, just the 32”. It’s a huge beast!
I really like this format you have going. Reminds me of classic game room. You can just play it in the background and it's kinda relaxing.
Just got one of these today for $2 excited to turn it into an arcade cab
I just picked this same tv up from a free craigslist ad. Just had to pick it up. Unfortunately, mine has red blue and green lines across the top of the screen. From what I've researched, this is from usually a vertical unit or cap that is going bad. Taking it to get it serviced today as I dont have the tools, the time, or the experience to open this up without shocking myself.
But after I got it up and running, I was going to see the possibility of adding RGB or SCART.
i remember as a kid seeing that music symbol for the audio menu on a trinitron, and i just said, “MUSIC ON THE TV?? GUYS WE CAN LISTEN TO MUSIC ON THE TV”
also i know i’m late on this but…dtv is digital tv, guess if you have a dtv converter box you’d use that, don’t know when dtv converter boxes started being released but i guess that’s what it means
nice. I have a kv-27s40 in my room. Just composite and coaxial, with L/R audio out. Works really well. I will say that I noticed a BIG flicker issue when running WIllow on nes via standard video + mono audio, with non-modded front loader.

Wow, I'm getting into CRT's in 2022 as a collecting thing, and I never realised that my childhood TV was actually an Aperture Grill Sony Trinitron. I'm pretty sure this is almost exactly the TV I had growing up. Big OOF though because I took a baseball bat to the thing in 2014. Major facepalm, but I think it was broken or something.

I've had CRTs that had moisture inside and I observed very similar effects on the picture quality.
I'll be interested to see if those issues diminish as the unit gets hot and the moisture evaporates....
If I get the time and space I'll do a follow up with what you suggested.
The picture with s-video is good but it seems too stretched. Especially at the bottom a small portion of the screen is in overscan. Is it possible to adjust the image size from the service menu?

What's better this or the silver sony wega crt tv's from the 2000's ?
depends on what system you are planning to use. If you have systems with component, this will not be the best choice. some games where designed with curved screens in mind, so sometimes the Wega Flat Screens will have odd looking visuals. For any 90s or earlier system, this would be idea though.
Question: you did a video for a ks-27fs120. Between these two, which do you prefer?
It would Depend, I usually stick with Stock and don't bother with RGB Mods, when I was young I played most systems on RF, so S-Video is a godsend compared to that. I usually prefer era specific devices. plus some older systems seem to display a little odd on Flat Screen CRTs, these older curved ones look sweet for anything pre PS2, GC, DC, Xbox. So if I where to play a Genesis, I'd choose this TV
Is it heavy for one person to carry?
Depends on how in shape you are, remember that all the weight is in the screen. If you cannot lift a 24" on your own definitely use a hand cart or get a friend.
