    SPAM Katsu Musubi Recipe
    Ingredients:
1 (12 ounce) can SPAM, sliced lengthwise into 8 slices amzn.to/2OY0iuT
    3 tablespoons shoyu amzn.to/3rauwaS
    3 tablespoons granulated sugar amzn.to/393qKKo
½ cup all purpose flour amzn.to/3r2O0hO
    2 eggs
    ½ cup panko amzn.to/2PirOTr
    Cooking oil of choice
4 sheets of nori, cut in half amzn.to/3cTJP2J
4 cups cooked white rice, divided amzn.to/3raAMQb
    ¼ cup furikake amzn.to/2Qv3EG7
    Directions:
    1. In a small mixing bowl whisk together shoyu and sugar until well combined.
    2. Place sliced Spam in sauce mixture and allow to marinate for 15 minutes.
    3. While the Spam is marinating begin setting up the breading. To a plate add flour. To another plate add eggs and whisk to combine. To the last plate add panko.
    4. Add cooking oil to a pan set over medium heat. Heat oil to 350F.
    5. Remove Spam from sauce mixture. Take one slice of Spam and coat in flour, then egg, and lastly panko. Set aside and continue with the remainder of the Spam.
    6. Place breaded Spam in the oil and for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip and repeat on the other side. Remove from the oil and set on a paper towel to soak up the excess oil.
    7. Lay nori on a flat surface. Place musubi mold (or Spam can with bottom removed) in the center of the nori.
    8. Press ¼ cup of rice in musubi mold. Sprinkle ½ teaspoon furikake over rice. Layer on a slice of Spam. Sprinkle another ½ teaspoon furikake. Top with another ¼ cup rice.
    9. Press musubi out of the mold.
    10. Wrap nori around musubi and seal ends with a small dab of water. ENJOY!

Two of my favorites in one! Love the little bit of context/history you shared too 😊. And thank you for cutting the spam into 8ths... so many people and grocery stores do 9ths or 10ths, but the ratio is way off. Mahalos 🤙

Is there a way to keep the seaweed crispy until the next day? Also, the rice is always very dry the next day as well. Just wondering if you have any tips? Thanks!

Fresh musubis are the best. The heat from the rice will cause the nori to soften. If the musubis are stored in the fridge it will suck out the moisture from the rice. You can try to wrap in plastic wrap and store in an air tight container in the fridge and that will help a little. Best bet is to make and eat them on the same day.

yum yum that sounds so good right now...I don't eat spam but I'm gonna do the same recipe with tofu! Love the new look but I have to say there was nothing wrong with the older and very home and personal one either... Just saying... all polished up doesn't make Relle better... just different from before... I think I like both styles but truth be told I really enjoyed keepin' it Relle Island relaxed local style alot especially when you have the throwback recipes... however I will always watch your channel any direction it goes as you make the making of family favorites look easy and tasty... nice to know how to make these treats for ourselves especially when some of us live on the mainland or other places.. Thank you!
