Got mine today and I am blown away! This is my first Dyson and I wish I got it sooner since I own 2 Akita dogs and have been using all kind of vaccum cleaners, robots etc but nothing comes close even remotely to this. Thank you Dyson!

Will you release a Submarine head for the “normal” V15? I’m really disappointed that you’ve re-released the V15 under a new name just to make people buy a new machine. We should be able to update our V15 to the new firmware and use the attachment.

i just bought the dyson v15 submarine.. i love it!!! the vacuum suction and laser light are the best parts...and i really love the mop head. i washed my floors 2 week's ago then went on vacation...no one was home to dirty the floors....so came home and washed floors with the submarine....the dirty water was black and my floors felt clean...iam not sure if i should be grossed out or amazed🤣🤣 i thought my floors where clean before....but now i realize they were not....the only thing i have an issue with is the trigger...you always have to press the button to run....which may be an issue if you have an injury or arthritis etc

Can we mop the entire floor by spreading clean water everywhere (I know the tank water capacity is just 180 ml) or we can just wipe out a particular stain? Also let us know how much time the machine will work on normal mode in one charging?
karcher FC7 is the way to go... I'm amazed by how the water is dirty when I'm finished cleaning my whole flat with it, even after vacuuming (with a Dyson V10)

Can anyone figure out why they wouldn't have her launched this with a Gen 5 vacuum? Did they just have so much stock of the v15 that they need to figure out how to sell them ?
You could have charged for a mopping software update and made even more revenue with mop head sales. So much clever hardware engineering and firmware management left out of the design requirements. Bluetooth via dyson app would have nailed it. You could check battery health and help diagnose faults. I don't get it in 2023.
Thanks for your feedback on this. Previously manufactured Dyson cordless vacuums don't include Bluetooth connectivity, so an OTA software update like this wouldn't have been technically possible. But our engineers continue to improve and evolve our technology, always looking to enhance convenience and drive increased efficiency and performance from fewer raw materials.
@@dyson this is fair, but from the start there should’ve been a digital connection between certain brush heads and the vacuum, in addition to just a power connection. This would’ve allowed brush heads to come with their own optimized software and pass on more information to the vacuum computer for more efficient cleaning. Maybe this is what the Torque drive units have, but I think it’s just a clever semi-analog system

Still confused on this whole thing. Dyson says it shuts the motor off but battery on. So why not just keep the motor on for old units (the submarine shaft is closed) since the motor is not really used?
Without the correct software present, your machine would interpret this as a blockage situation - so it would pulse several times as an alert, then shut off for protection. Machines sold with the Submarine™ wet roller cleaner head includes software that actively recognises it's being used in wet cleaning mode, and disables the suction motor. This also means the suction motor isn't being run needlessly while using additional battery power. Hope this answers your question!
The latest cordless is the Gen 5, but they are releasing the submarine attachement for the V15. Read in one place that they were gonna release it for the Gen 5 in early 2024 but I never found a source for that… It’s a bit disappointing that they are not releasing it for the Gen 5 yet, it means you don’t get the brighter laser on the hard floor attachment and the increased suction

I did hear in one of the launch events for the Gen5 and the submarine head attachment one of the lead engineers said at the time of the development of the Gen5 they hadn’t planned to do a mop head so never factored it in for future compatibility. Something they have taken onboard for future development and products so new accessories like this are compatible. There are plans I’ve heard to have the submarine head as an accessory for 2024 updated versions of the V12, V15 and Gen5 standard models if you wanted to buy it separately at any point. It’ll mean they will have updated the software on the machines!

I bought My first ever dyson last year. A v15 detect. I saw the New model through facebook. And I was frustrated that you could not use the New head with last year's model. Even though they are so similar. I worded My frustrations through comments. And All I got was that they deleted it. It was my first and last ever dyson. Very dissapointet in dyson. 👎👎
Unfortunately it's not always possible to ensure new technology is backwards-compatible with existing Dyson machines. In this instance, a particular software version is needed on the machine for the Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head to work correctly, and this software isn't present on machines which have already been manufactured. I think Dyson submarine is trash and too expensive. I have it and I will keep using it but it is not worth it. As a vacuum, it is great but as a wet mop hydrovac, it sucks. First, it will take you forever, you have to vacuum first and what is the point in moping already clean floors. I had shark hydrovac in the past and i liked it more but it stoped working after 2 months ( clean water tank empty error - very common). If it didn't have that issue i would have probably kept shark hydrovac cordless. Dyson submarine does not have an auto button, so you have to hold the start button the whole time, so for older people or younger children it might be hard to use. Also, it is very streaky, doesn't pick up hair or any debris whatsoever. The worst thing is that after using Dyson submarine, I use shark steamer, and the pads still come out dirty so dyson submarine doesn't mop very well. I wish i can post the pisture of my shark steamer pads after moping with dyson.....not so clean. But....I have a little baby that is crawling everywhere so I will keep it because my return time expired (only one month so not buying things from Dyson anymore neither) . Honestly, I would have dyson as a vacuum but something else as a hydrovac.

This sucks - sorry but I purchased the $900 dyson less than a year ago and now if I want the Submarine attachment I would have to purchase an entire vacuum again. Honestly this is just an attachment. The water in not being brought up anywhere near the handheld device. I have the new V15 and this should absolutely be something we ( your customers ) should be able to purchase had a separate attachment. Very disappointing
1+ hour to wash one small balcony!!! I washed the brush more than 10 times!!! The whole kitchen is in dirty drops of water, I washed everything by hands!!! Never buy this!!! NEVER!!! This is the worst purchase in my entire life, just a waste of money and nerves!!!

but how do you get out the dirty water? why didnt they show that? so I use it and then leave it rot inside?

The Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head is engineered and optimised for hard floor cleaning. It's not suitable for washing carpets.
It would have less costly if you would have just made to the attachment to fit previous models. Save your software BS excuse.

I bought My first ever dyson last year. A v15 detect. I saw the New model through facebook. And I was frustrated that you could not use the New head with last year's model. Even though they are so similar. I worded My frustrations through comments. And All I got was that they deleted it. It was my first and last ever dyson. Very dissapointet in dyson. 👎👎
Unfortunately it's not always possible to ensure new technology is backwards-compatible with existing Dyson machines. In this instance, a particular software version is needed on the machine for the Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head to work correctly, and this software isn't present on machines which have already been manufactured. @@dyson you said it youself... Software. Not hardware related. Which means it can be updated. Without much if any modifications. But well.. It's a money Thing am i right 😉
@@dysonUnless there is a hardware compatibility issue, software can be backward compatible if “intended” so or you have very poor designs. Anyways, an update can be sorted out. You are literally abandoning your customers who purchased your latest generation product and marketing an extension as a new product.

I think Dyson submarine is trash and too expensive. I have it and I will keep using it but it is not worth it. As a vacuum, it is great but as a wet mop hydrovac, it sucks. First, it will take you forever, you have to vacuum first and what is the point in moping already clean floors. I had shark hydrovac in the past and i liked it more but it stoped working after 2 months ( clean water tank empty error - very common). If it didn't have that issue i would have probably kept shark hydrovac cordless. Dyson submarine does not have an auto button, so you have to hold the start button the whole time, so for older people or younger children it might be hard to use. Also, it is very streaky, doesn't pick up hair or any debris whatsoever. The worst thing is that after using Dyson submarine, I use shark steamer, and the pads still come out dirty so dyson submarine doesn't mop very well. I wish i can post the pisture of my shark steamer pads after moping with dyson.....not so clean. But....I have a little baby that is crawling everywhere so I will keep it because my return time expired (only one month so not buying things from Dyson anymore neither) . Honestly, I would have dyson as a vacuum but something else as a hydrovac.
Не в восторге от насадки для мытья полов. Оставляет разводы, в труднодоступные места надо отдельно обычной тряпкой заходить и мыть насадку каждый раз и долго сушить потом неудобно.
This sucks - sorry but I purchased the $900 dyson less than a year ago and now if I want the Submarine attachment I would have to purchase an entire vacuum again. Honestly this is just an attachment. The water in not being brought up anywhere near the handheld device.
I have the new V15 and this should absolutely be something we ( your customers ) should be able to purchase had a separate attachment. Very disappointing
1+ hour to wash one small balcony!!! I washed the brush more than 10 times!!! The whole kitchen is in dirty drops of water, I washed everything by hands!!! Never buy this!!! NEVER!!! This is the worst purchase in my entire life, just a waste of money and nerves!!!
