  • Dementia caregiving is always a challenge, but when symptoms progress, it can feel like we are in a foxhole as caregivers. Even though our prayers may not be answered the way we want them to, we are still loved by our Creator and will be guided through the most difficult of circumstances if we are willing to stay in constant communication. #dementiacaregiver #caregiver #dementia #dianechew #prayer

Oh my dear sister, holding you in my heart since my arms are across the country!!
Thank you for your clear emotion and sharing from your gut.
I just returned from a brief but most needed respite away to see grandkids. Stepping back on the treadmill today..... soooo reluctantly.

Oh Cynthia, I’m so glad that you got a break and got to see your beloved grandchildren. It would be a blessing if we had children and grandchildren, but so hard to not be able to see them as often as I wanted. And I understand the reluctant return to your current circumstances. I can feel that way every time I wake up in the morning. It’s taking some practice, but it helps so much for me to focus on the sparks of joy that we have in each day right now, despite the challenges. I find that the blessings are mixed right in with the stress, but if I seek them, I will find them! ❤❤❤

How are you and Ben today? You have been in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you so much. It’s a few days since I posted this video and I had to take a little break to just regroup. Ben seems a little better though I think we’re going to opt for palliative care to get some additional resources. Thank you so much for your support and your prayers. Each one is powerful and we are so grateful!

Thank you so very much. Your prayers and your caring for us means so much to me. He’s actually doing better. We saw his neurologist and got some guidance for how to distinguish between back pain and neurological changes. Of course, as always as one moment at a time, but we seem to be beyond the mini crises we were in for a few weeks at least for now. So once again, thank you so much for connecting, commenting, and caring!!
