The Discrete 8 always takes me back to the original Zen Studio. I knew Antelope Audio were onto something 7yrs ago. Glad to have Thunderbolt 3 not so much for bandwidth Thunderbolt 1 is plenty but because of the USB-C port which is now more common especially on Windows than the Mini-DisplayPort used with Thunderbolt 1&2. I hate having to use dongles like TB2-TB3 adapters.

Will you being updating the old control panel software to include the routing matrix for existing Discrete Synergy Core owners? I don't see myself getting another Antelope product if people who just bought a now discontinued device are left out of this necessary software update. The current routing system is absurdly limited and needs to be updated. edit: Just received an email from Antelope claiming the software is "device specific" and will not be made available to existing users. I say BS. I'll never buy anything from Antelope again.
Hi Joe Thank you for your comment! That is true, the software you’re talking about is device specific. We’re not excluding the possibility of rolling out such an update in the future, but for now it is available exclusively for our new Pro devices. Antelope Team
I love my D8SC, except for the MIXER. It's awful compared to ANY of the current manufactures DSP Mixer...ESPECIALLY UA. The headphone jack is under powered. The Display (It looks different in this new version) is prone to color changes and burn in. Antelope needs to UNIFY their drivers. Don't just stick us with the old interface. We just bought these things a YEAR ago. ALSO...they need to either offer the ability to run their plugins NATIVELY (Like Apogee Allows) or sell a DSP/FPGA accelerator. Using their effects will give you approximately a Core 2 Duo Worth of computing power. Not very much. You're not gonna mix a big session with these cards. I WILL however say that it's sound quality is truly something to behold. I have a HARD time choosing between Apogee and My DS8SQ.
It was a bit disappointing that I bought mine (older version) right before the new one was announced, submitted a ticket for help, and was told that my unit was already discontinued so my problem would probably not be taken care of. I mean, no support for current users? Discontinuing something doesn't mean people stopped using it... ☹️
I bought one and had to give it back because drivers problems. And customer support is a nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend Antelope to any serious recordist.
that new control panel looks awesome
Very nice upgrade to the discrete 8 synergy core I have
2 years later = this thing still crushes the competition = crazy!
Eagerly waiting !
Are we going to see Discrete 4 pro , because this is a great upgrade
Yes, it's confirmed
Wow that's gonna be good one
Could this be used to supply a dolby Atmos speaker system ? All speakers are powered monitors ?

Looks super attractive. Is there support for loopback? (I suppose that could be the COMPUTER PLAY line)

there are like 20 different amps and cabs included for free

Can the 4 Synergy Core (or this 8 pro) be controlled by MIDI over thunderbolt? Or is midi via USB class used in parallel with thunderbolt?
