I'm having a hard time with the 87 donating parts and the other frame not being restored to 4 point A arm strength and left hacked up. That 87 was built to ride!!. I cant sleep seeing it be raped for a shelf queen. Mad respect for the collector items but they were built to roll and flog, fix repeate. Put the rough parts on the 87 and send it! 2 full bikes down for a single queen is an abomination. Had to stop watching and pull my part of monetizing this mind set. - Big builds are for big jumps, Not big shelving units and UA-cam paychecks.-
Both bikes will get ridden for sure! The one I took the fenders off of especially!! I’ve got another set of fenders I’ll be throwing on it! Stay tuned for the riding videos. I think you’ll be able to start sleeping well at night again haha! This channel isn’t monetized.
@@jaegersracing ok, I'll add a like and give it a share.. Better not see this on a shelf in the next builds video series! Please be a purist and fix that frame ( later). PLEASE! Shes too mint otherwise to let that little fix go. I get the time crunch, now. Hope to see you in October. PRAYING shipping quotes and timing line up so I can fly in and play. Wish I had the time to trailer up. Be safe and thanks for seeing my criticism for what it is and not just a troll. AGAIN, do - love - that collection. I say you bottom that frame out a few times in OK for help getting over welding and recoating it this winter! (Keep the scratches low tho)
Pull strap is excellent holding things when working alone.. I don’t even use a jack anymore on somethings ,I use 3 ratchet straps when putting a rearend in a vehicle ,super easy to move when hanging ..
Keep the videos coming! Let us know if you can post a link to where you got things like the engine and the plastics etc, it would be really helpful to us old people. Thanks!!!
This blows my mind ! Theres parts there that are from my build in 2006 ! I sold it to a guy in Missouri and always wondered what happened to it. Id love to hear the story of where you got the stuff and if you know what happened to the bike. Lot of memories from that build. Changed my profile pic to a pic of the bike. Check it out !
You built one heck of a bike my friend! Was an incredible foundation to start from! Had to still source a good chunk of parts, but was thankful for whoever laid the foundation. Really cool!!
@@jaegersracing Thanks man. Put my heart and soul into it. Glad to see its still out there. Robert , "Doctor Q" was a great influence in my build. Would love to talk sometime.
I have the same situation with brand new complete plastics and seat that I bought 15 years ago from Suzuki and a Q pipe and I just can't bring myself to cut the fender so running across your channel is amazing
Thanks man! Yeah, unfortunately I know you won’t be able to bring yourself to cut the fenders and rightfully so. It sucks, but probably worth searching for a race-cut set of OEM’s or something more usable. In my opinion, any existing NOS fenders need to be kept for OEM bikes and show pieces. Too easy to scratch, crack, or melt a new set of fenders and they can only be new OEM once.
I wish Zilla Maier’s were a better product. Wouldn’t lose any sleep over running those, but the split in the front and rounded-ness is hard to cope with if you’re OCD like me haha
Amazing build/s, and very informative video!!! My only issue is you call the engine a "Motor" ;) (even though I call them motor mounts, not engine mounts, so I'm just as guilty).
Hey I just grabbed a 1987 frame today to restore with my son can you send me a link to that lift and where you got the rear swing arm and front a arms plz
you have a beautiful 89' LT500RK SITTING ON THAT RACK TO THE Rack to right i had one stolen from me right out of the back of my truck in Garrett , Indiana I would love to buy that one from you if you would part with it ??!!
I appreciate the appreciation haha! Probably couldn’t sell it right now. I searched for years for that machine and ‘89 is actually my favorite year of the Zilla. Will let you know if anything changes!
I had dream to and made it happen finally got a lt 500 lots of chrome on it got it for 3000$ I could of got it for less but it just looked perfect for the price got it in ca by la just work hard you will get one soon 💯
Vous pourriez me dire c’est quoi le code couleur pour la peinture du cadre ? Je suis entrain d’un restaurer 1 et je cherche quelle couleur pour le cadre
No. I had a Zilla on there which is almost 33% over capacity. Technically I’m probably not supposed to recommend doing that, but realistically all products are engineered to be a certain multiple stronger than their rated weight. I’d bet this stand can at least hold 2x it’s rated capacity without crumbling. Not recommended, but not the worst thing in the world to overload it by 100lbs in my opinion
do you have spare parts i got 1 of my dad but it’s completely dismantled it was store for almost 20 years it haves a duncan stage 4 engine some 1 told me it was crazy fast
Aftermarket 1986 LT250r a-arms are actually hard to come by. Working on a solution for that actually. These Zilla arms will not work on an ‘86 LT250r unfortunately. There’s a mod you can do to run zilla arms on an ‘87-92 LT250r, but it’s kind of sloppy.
Good eye! It’s actually a ‘90 that’s been modified for ‘87 a-arms by removing the top inner a-arm mounts. Only a real zilla enthusiast would have caught that! Good catch!
Haha, had gotten them a couple years ago and kept them in plastic until the rest of the parts of the build were ready. Got luck being that they’re now discontinued

what year did you get? The first year bike had 5 head studs and had problems blowing head gaskets the following years they went to 6 head studs.
Yeah, ‘87 had 6 studs and ‘88-‘90 had 7 studs. This is an ‘87 jug because ‘87 also had a larger intake and makes a bit more power
@@jaegersracing ahh ok I had two of them 25 years ago
