He yelled so loud that it took a long time to calm my sister down. She had been practicing holding her breath in the water. That is how a normal father reacts when he thinks his child is dead. When I told my finances dad that he died. He kept saying "NO NO NO! With tears in his voice. That's how a normal loving father reacts when he hears his child died.

Yes exactly! My dad and I were weeding the garden, no more than half a metre away from his pool and my 2 year old daughter, was helping us. Drowning can be such a quiet process and all I heard was one little "plop" behind us.
She had fallen in and was floating beneath the water looking up at me. It was surreal.
Dad and I both yelled and both jumped in fully dressed of course.
      That's terror! And that's normal!
Most Australians grow up in pools and at the beach, at the age of 66 I still do 50 laps most days at the local pool but we still have so many drownings...sorry I digress, I was reliving a potentially horrible experience. Excuse me.

He can't let it go that the courtroom think the younger son wasn't as strong as his brother, but he could and did let go the restraint that kept his lethally violent temper in check. It's like he wanted to stick up for his son, when he himself couldn't keep from killing him. This guy is unbelievable.

I don't know anything about the case except for what I saw in this video, but going by the man's earlier admission where he claimed his wife helped him kill the boys (which could of course also be false), I assumed that these were planned and premeditated murders, not a spur of the moment, fit of rage sort of deal.
In his revised testimony where he tries to pin everything on his dead wife, she also appears to have been operating in a bizarrely calm and premeditated fashion and he doesn't seem angry or judgmental toward her actions in the slightest. Now, whether he's lying and projecting his own mental state as well as his actions on his wife or she was actually an accomplice, either way it seems to me Todt was and still is convinced that death was the only correct outcome for his family.
I think that's why Todt can remain so cold and clinical while describing the murder of his family. It is not something he did on impulse, in an emotional state, and now has come to regret. This is the outcome he thinks just or righteous. Maybe he was supposed to kill himself but was too cowardly to go through with the hara-kiri he now claims his wife performed, but other than that I think he still believes this was a (morally? spiritually?) good outcome.

I totally enjoyed learning about water, music terms as they relate to how one says/presents something, after death beliefs, etc. from Mark. I very much liked hearing about Chase's learning about the human brain and his realization that it represented a person. I loved Greg's "amber" verb forms. And Scott's explanation of how a man should act regarding the death of his family was encouraging in how straightforward it was. I think the blend of perspectives and personalities makes your channel particularly unique, yet very educational.

I need to back up and attempt to make myself a little clearer.
I totally agree with you about names. A close friend of mine has an extremely talented stepdaughter named Amber. I very much like the name. A woman I worked with for years just died. Her name was Karen. She was not a "Karen".
What I do like to learn about is how language evolves based on what might be going on in society or how something is perceived by the majority. We now have the verb "google". We have all kinds of online "language" as a result of texting.
I particularly like to learn how others see things in ways I would never think of. Political cartoons provide the best example I can think of; I can strongly disagree with the opinion illustrated by the cartoon itself, but be somewhat in awe of the creative mind that gives a clear and strong message, most often without words.
Unfortunately, you are correct that our negative reactions towards a particular individual do sully a name. That part I don't like because, as you said, it is unfair to so many very nice people with the name that is now viewed so negatively.
I am a 75-year-old woman. I wish I could say that negative connotations eventually disappear. However, based on what I have seen over the years, I don't know if they always do.
You must be a kind, empathetic person to feel badly for all the other Ambers.

I came back to share one other observation. I don't know if I am right, but I think at least a lot of the negative language we use is related to women. For a while, after "Karen" became part of our vocabulary, a "Ken" appeared on a video. For a brief period, both "Karen" and "Ken" were in use. Soon, male or female, the only name used was "Karen". It might well be that is the case because she was the first, her case involved two races and two sexes, AND
a poor dog. That means a lot of people were repulsed for different reasons or for all of those reasons. I don't know.
However, I know the term "bitch" is now used to refer to men. "Douchebag" is a frequently used insult.
Again, it seems over the years that terms used to indicate a disliked person too often have to do with us women and / or our bodies.

So similar to Amber heard. First he scrunches his face and cries with no tears just like Amber. Then he finds his children dead and tells a ridiculous detail about the piecrust being a gram cracker crust. Just like Amber and her dirty carpet, white tile and parakeet floors. Then he buys his kids this knife? Just like Amber the abuser buying that huge knife and giving it to Johnny. Also he’s so arrogant on the stand, and just like Amber always with his face like how could you even consider not believing me?

He couldn't correct himself fast enough, so I believe he was remembering the actual killing, and without meaning to and under stress, he nearly said, "I covered her mouth with a pillow." Then, he quickly changes the focus to Megan and the mysterious bouncing knife.

Regardless of the fact that my husband & I had both agreed that based on his quality of life we didn’t want medical intervention if he stopped breathing, I still did CPR, called 911 & called our hospice nurse. It is a natural instinct to try to save your child in that moment no matter what you have planned for prior to that point, I don’t care what anyone says.

    1) The way his wife was sick, makes me think he was making or keeping her sick. He loved being able to lord over his healing skills over her.
    2) the way he's talking about her being there while finding the children dead, is like he's talking about a ghost. She appears, she talks after his questions and she never acts / touches him or them, beyond stabbing herself (and keeping talking).
