- Hey fam, I finally got around to switching out all of the stock OEM halogen interior bulbs in my Highlander to LED 6000K bulbs and what a difference it makes! Very easy as the bulbs are plug and play. Below are the bulbs I used in this install video which can be purchased directly from the LasFit website link below:

I finally got my front Canbus turn signal LEDs in and wow...what a difference. I also replaced my 3rd row light and again, huge difference. Next will be the 2nd row, vanity lights and the puddle lights. All most done. Also, glad to see you upgraded to an S23 Ultra I saw in your other video yesterday. I have an S22 Ultra and it fits perfectly on the phone holder I got from AlliExpress. Next project on the list are the hood struts. Keep up the great work you do.
Nice work Paul! The difference between the S8 and S23 Ultra is unbelievable especially with all the camera upgrades. Did you decide on what brand of hood struts yet?
@@vietbubbletea I found a kit on AlliExpress for 30 bucks by Semtay or Sumtay. They come with a 2 year warranty. They have gotten good reviews.
Quick update for you: It's been a long process, but last night I changed out my license plate bulbs. The look is awesome...nice bright, premium look. Did the side marker lights too. Only thing left to do are the puddle, second row and vanity lights. I will finally be done. So I just wanted to say thanks for emptying my wallet for the greater good LOLOL!! Still have more to spend. :-) I am looking forward to your vid on the hatch lights from Cartrim Home. Have a good weekend.
Nice job Paul! If you've completed installing the exterior LED bulbs already, the interior bulbs will be a cinch for you! I've been told that I've contributed to lighter wallets because of my channel... 😅
@vietbubbletea Most definitely 🤣🤣🤣🤣. With that said I completed all of the interior lights during my lunch hour. Took all of 10 minutes. Looks so awesome. My family loves the extra light, too, that the LEDs put out. Let ya know when I put in the hood supports. Hope the weather in the PNW is nice. Be well.
I just bought a 2023 Sienna, and hate the interior lights. The lights are basically the same design as in the Highlander. I had some leftover LED bulbs from my Odyssey upgrade, that fit right into the Sienna.

One issue I came across while doing the rear dome light - after removing the OEM bulb I needed to pull the metal lever back out to the left in order to have it retain it's grip on the new DE3021 LED light.
Interesting, did the bulb still work after you bent the metal prong out a bit? I guess it's better to have some give compared to a really tight fit. I have a 21 Platinum Hybrid and it fit with no need to bend. What's your year and trim?
@@vietbubbletea 2022 Hybrid Platinum - I think because the OEM bulb was so snug when I removed it the metal prong may have pushed too far to the right in order to release the OEM bulb. It seems to hold its spring after pushing it back out to the left and holds the new LED bulb snug.

Hi Fahad, I'm waiting for a vender to make a rear lift gate light similar to this LED light for the RAV4 thats plug and play. I agree there's not much lighting in the back in our Highlanders.

I think you forgot the lower cargo light on the lower right area in the back. I have a 2019 SE AWD in Nightshade. I plan to do all of what you did plus that light in the back that I think you forgot. Nice video!!!
Thanks! I've checked for that rear trunk light on the right side that you mentioned and confirmed that the 4th Gen Highlanders don't have it like on your 3rd Gen. I guess Toyota decided to remove it for the 2020-2023 models.
Thanks for the video, how do you change the lights in the middle row? I have an XLE with dome lights right in the middle except of being above the rear doors?

How has your hatch dome light held up those festoon bulbs are what are keeping me from doin it I had a 4Runner and was using the 31s and they sucked always went out and flicker now I wana do my highlander
I've had no issues with any of my interior led bulbs including the 28s in the rear hatch. Lasfit also gives you a 1 yr warranty for peace of mind.

Two 194s for the front door, two 194s for the 2nd row roof and one DE3021 for the rear trunk. The license plate also use two 194s. Check out my other videos as I've made one for that too!

Why didn't you change the front lights?
Man, I hate what toyota did with the map lights. I hate the warm color lights. Good job on the video. I'm still thinking if I want 2 different light colors in the interior. Looks weird 😕
It annoys me too, definitely a Toyota money grab as the front headlight and foglight bulbs are not removable as well. I've gotten used to the warmer color but if you're brave to touch the map light circuit board, here's great directions on how to swap them out!

I love it, works great to lower the cabin temp and really easy to fold up while still sitting in the car and stow away without taking too much space either behind the center console or in the lower trunk space.
Do you know I can order these dome light cover? I broke one of them when removing them
I'm sure you can order them from the dealer and they'll tell you what the parts number is but if you want to save some money, I'd recommend joining Facebook group and see if someone is parting out their car and buy it used for cheaper. You could also check eBay or a local wrecking yard as well.
Hello! Are the front 2 dome lights led? And if not, what bulbs are required? Asking as a potential buyer.
@Bryson If you're referring to the map lights, they are already LED but not 6000K color. They are LED diodes that are soldered to the circuit board and not plug and play like the rest of the bulbs. It is possible to replace them but it would require using extra steps to remove the existing diodes and solder the new ones in place which not everyone can do. I explain this at the 12:45 mark in my video, good luck!

Map bulbs are not plug and play, they are LED diodes soldered to the circuit board. You can replace them if you having soldering skills. The directions can be found in the ToyotaNation forums if you want to try.
The lights above the infotainment system can’t be changed?
If you're referring to the map lights next to the SOS button, the 2020-2022 Highlander map lights are not plug and play like the 3rd generation Highlanders. These lights are LED diodes that are soldered into the circuit board so you would need to do extra work to remove and resolder new diodes to replace them. I explain this near the end of my video. If you want to attempt this mod, there's posts in the Toyotanation forums that can show you how.

Did u wire the dash cam to mirror
Dashcam came with a piggyback harness that plugged into the rear view mirror.

Just curious, but why change these bulbs out?
More brighter than stock halogen which my kids, niece and nephews appreciate when loading and unloading at night. You can see how much more brighter it is at the 10:40 mark in the video.
