This is like the 20th review I'm watching on this scooter, and it is by far the most detailed and light-years better than any of the other ones I've seen. It is also the only one that went in depth on the seat option which I really wanted to know about, seems like no one else got the seat with theirs... Excellent job, thank you!!! You alone just made my mind on it, I'm getting it
Hey thanks for watching, glad you liked it. Link / discount is in the description.
Hi k.wild , I just received mine and I'm impressed! I've rented the public scooters a few times and this hiboy s2 pro is much smoother not to mention faster. I'm 205pounds and can reach 31km/h no problem. Many videos I watched mentioned the ruff ride because of the solid tires but I found it to be very smooth with very reasonable vibration. Hope this comment helps.... cheers
@@francoisbernier3240 Yeah, I have mine for 11 months now, still running solid so I'm happy with it. I do have to agree a little on the rough ride though, I really wish it had some type of shocks in the front wheel - you can really feel all the bumps and vibration in your hands after a while, besides that I have no other complaints. This thing is great for the price 👍
How have you liked the Hiboy scooter so far?
@@carbrickscity Am I missing something here? I see the same exact specs in terms of speed and distance, except it's nine (9!!!) pounds heavier...
I've had my Hiboy S2 Pro for about a month now. This was after a lot of research - this site being one of them. Many of the online reviews say the same thing about this scooter. There's only so much that can be said. I think it's a great scooter. So, I thought I'd add some things that you probably haven't seen/read much about. They might be minor points, but most of them are not addressed in reviews.
1. The solid tires give you peace of mind that you're never going to have a flat - and that's great. But, despite the rear suspension, this scooter does not take bumps well. This is definitely a scooter for well-paved roads. You had better pay attention (especially when going at high speed) because, if you hit a pot hole, large rock or even a curb as low as 1-inch - you're in for a surprise. It's bone jarring. Even on a sidewalk, you're going to feel every seam in the concrete. Those reviews that say the rear shock absorbers give a smooth ride are incorrect. It only prevents it from being an absolutely unbearable ride. The shock absorbers are necessary to make it bearable - but not comfortable. I mostly ride on well-paved roads and paths - so it's not a problem for me.
2. Much praise has been given to the phone app that connects via bluetooth. Personally, I don't find it that useful. There are only five (very rare) things that you can do with the app that you cannot do with the button on the scooter - and they are not things you will frequently do: 1) lock the scooter 2) set the max speed for the cruise mode, 3) set the acceleration/braking intensity, 4) set it for instant-start or kick-start and 5) install a firmware upgrade. You can turn the lights on and off with a single press of the button. You can change speed modes with a double press of the button. And, you can disable/enable cruise control with a triple press of the button. I'm surprised the app doesn't tell you how far you've traveled. It seems that would be very easy to implement and would be a somewhat useful piece of data. NOTE: One minor, but somewhat odd, thing is that when the scooter is locked (only through the app), the scooter's light can still be turned ON and OFF with the button on the scooter console. You would think that it would be disabled if it is LOCKED. In general, you will probably not be riding around on this scooter while using the app. Do you really need to know that you're going 14.3mph and not 14mph as displayed on the scooter? I seldom use it for anything.
3. A little more about the LOCK mode. When you lock the scooter (only through the app), the power remains on. I doubt it uses much power while in this mode, however. The letter "P" is displayed on the console. When it is locked, the throttle is obviously disabled. The tires are also locked; so, nobody can ride away with it as if it were a manual scooter. In addition, when you do try to roll it, it beeps, drawing attention. The only way to steal this scooter when it is locked is to pick it up and carry it. Be advised, the only way to unlock it is with the app. If your phone dies, or if you lose your phone, you're screwed.
4. It's easy to set the cruise control when you are going at top speed because the throttle is held in a constant location. You hear the "beep! beep!" to tell you that you are now in cruise control mode. You can now take your thumb off the throttle and keep going. But, if you want to set the cruise control at a setting less than full throttle (Let's say you want to cruise at 9mph), that's a bit trickier. It's difficult to hold the throttle steady at a location other than full throttle for a time period long enough to engage cruise control. It can be done - and I've gotten pretty good at it. You have to be on very smooth pavement to do it because every little bump will cause you to move the throttle ever so slightly which prevents the cruise control from engaging. I've been able to set the cruise control as low as 3mph. The cruise control will maintain whatever speed you were going at the time it engages. It's best to set it when on smooth, level ground.
5. Another thing about cruise control: Once engaged, ANYTHING you do will disengage it. The cruise control will disengage if you touch either brake. It will disengage if you touch the throttle. It will disengage if you change speed modes. It will even disengage if you turn on or off the lights. I've found that the smoothest way to disengage cruise control is to give the throttle a little flip. That prevents the jerk you invariably get by using the brakes to disengage it.
6. Compared to many other scooters, I find the deck (where you put your feet) to be very spacious on the S2 Pro. I know most people like to have one foot in front of the other when they ride a scooter. However, on long rides, that posture can get fatiguing because your body is always twisted at a 45-degree angle. I've found that I can actually have my feet side-by-side where my body is facing forward. This is far more comfortable. It's also best if you place your feet as far back as possible as that is where the shock absorbers are located. Your ride will be a bit smoother. There are no front shocks. The front wheel takes the brunt of the impacts.
7. You're really going to like the thumb-throttle on this. It is exactly like the Xiaomi M365 ("Bird") scooter. It is very responsive. There is no play or dead zones in it like on some other electric scooters.
8. The manual is not very comprehensive. In fact, many things that I've mentioned (the different functions of the button, for instance) are not documented. You'll discover several things through experience - not documentation. In fact, the manual actually gives bad advice under "Daily Care and Maintenance" where it says: "In daily use, try to avoid recharging the scooter after completely exhausting the battery. If the battery is low, charge it as soon as possible." How do you avoid recharging the scooter after the battery is exhausted? Also, it is well known that a lithium battery should be allowed to cool before recharging it. Recharging it "as soon as possible" is a bad idea. Let it cool.
9. I agree with this review that the kickstand, although very effective and sturdy, is sometimes difficult to get a grip on with your shoe. It's tucked up under the deck a little too far and you have to go fishing for it.
NOTE: I ordered my Hiboy S2 Pro through Amazon. It took almost two weeks before it was delivered. Oddly, and inexplicably, the day before my scooter arrived, I got a package in the mail that was a complete handlebar assembly for the scooter. I was wondering, "Are they going to send me each piece, individually?" The next day, the complete scooter arrived - handlebar and all. Now, for some reason, I have a complete (extra!) handlebar assembly which, I would think, is a fairly expensive part of the scooter. I have no idea why that was sent to me. Go figure.
All the points you made are spot on. I have the scooter too and it is great but with the minor flaws you explained in detail. I haven’t rode many scooters so I don’t have anything to compare the ride to but I’m assuming all of them in this price range will ride pretty similar even with pneumatic tires. I just don’t want the hassle of paying for and fixing flats. I get enough of that with my bike!
Also I ordered from Hiboy directly and received it in 2 Days. Found out also if you leave one in the cart for 24hrs they will send you a 10% discount code!
You the man!
Thanks for this comment!
THANK YOU MY LORD! 👑
Comment saved in the memory of my cellphone.
I never had an issue with support honestly. I broke my throttle, so I wrote them an email about it and I got sent a brand new handle bar a week later for free. I also lost power in my control panel and they sent me a new one free if charge. Their costner service has been good to me, so far
Good to hear! Maybe they didn't like Ginger! 😅
Thank you for the great review! This video definitely influenced my decision to purchase this scooter. It will be here Wednesday.
Thank you for such a thorough review. I decided to order it. Cant wait to check it out.
i finally bought one. i’ve had it for 3 days now and i must say, it’s worth every damn penny. this is my first scooter and i’m loving it. the range, the speed, the features, zero complaints and 5/5 stars from me.
Did yours come with the LED's? How is the ride with the solid state tires? Shaky and bumpy or smooth enough? You ever ride a scooter w/ pneumatic tires and how it compares to the s2 pro?
Im a big guy size 16 shoe and im 6ft 2 212 and i can hit 21 going slightly down hill i can hit 20 going flat. Make sure to keep those allen wrenches to tighten screws
Is this schooter reliable, or does it last a short time
@@alfredolopez6711 i’ve been taking mine to the limit since i’ve gotten it (except when it comes to jumps, i won’t jump off a sidewalk but can clear bumps that are an 1-2 inches). i’ve gone up and down hills, charged it at least 100 times, attempted turns so sharp i’ve fallen off. it’s the best $450 electric scooter for sure.
@mattdk4017 oh hell yeah, i still use it pretty often. i run my dog with it lol
Best review I’m impressed thank you for all your hard work
Thanks 😊 glad you like it.
Fr ^ it really helped me out 🙌 I appreciate it
I also had a similar incident with hiboy when plugging in my scooter One Night in the dark the plug on the stem felt Loose as I pushed it in upon closer inspection the pin inside the head unit had pushed itself into the head unit no longer making it able to connect with the plastic charger piece that you insert into the neck it took three weeks multiple emails and then having me take video pictures in like pretty much explaining them from like a warranty when they finally shipped me a head unit it had been 14 days 11 email quite a few back and forth but they still honored it and help me out it just took forever thank you John ginger on wheels I appreciate your videos
GREAT REVIEW! Keep it up! I pretty much gave up on mines. Here in NYC the streets are very horrible, every time I hit a bump, crack or pothole the scooter slows down instantly and it's like something triggers the back brake. I tried adjusting the screws on the back wheel and turn the scooter upside down and roll the back wheel and the disc is perfectly aligned and it still does it. I won't even contact HiBoy about this because I told them I had a problem with my scooter and they told me that if I didn't purchase it from them or another authorized seller I would have to pay a fee for maintenance. Like I said, great video Ginger and I look forward to seeing your other videos in the future.
Incredibly thorough review. Thank you very much, you've been very informative.
I bought the scooter because of this review. I absolutely love this scooter. Great job on the review and thank you for promo code.
These are very thorough and well done reviews, especially the support part that hardly ever gets covered. Keep up the great work it sure will help buyers
Glad you liked it!
I just want to say thanks for this great review. It helped me make my decision and I'm very happy with my purchase. Everything you said in the review was on point. Thanks
Anytime 👍
Wow beautiful thorough honest and objective review thank you
Thanks to this perfectly done review for saving me from spending my money on a much less capabele scooter, this is the perfect fit and absolutely rocks to ride! Thanks for the good content, keep it up
Thank you!
Hi boy S2 pro been using it everyday to commute to work Got it to save on gas Haven't had a issue with it so far 2 months not a problem lovein it
Thank you for this. Just purchase this and glad I made the right choice.
Thank you for the review! This really helped me decide on which e-scooter to purchase! This was the best most comprehensive review of the S2 Pro I found! Well done.
Great review as usual Ginger! I do like the deck lighting and the price point on this scooter, but I still love my Ninebot very much, even though Segway's customer service isn't much better. Thanks again for a great video and thank your assistant as well :-)
No problem 🙂
Thank you for sharing. Great review. I hope to get this in March :)
Best reviews I've seen. Thanks for your content!
Thank you for your review, my partner wanted one of these for her short commute to work and we bought this model. This was the best and honest review we found.
Rode mine for the first time today... highly recommend this scooter
Best and most thorough review I have seen yet. Great job!!
Thank you!
I love that you guys did the "The price is right" product presentation moves....funny...
Ya we had some fun with this one. 🙂
Great review, very informative! Thank you!
Your review is life saver 🙏
Thank you for this very very thorough and helpful video review we really appreciate it.
No problem.
great review bro. really detailed and to the point. keep it up!!
Will do! Thanks for watching.
Your review was excellent! Thank you.
Great review thank you very much… Very well done and very informative
Very impressive review. I just ordered 3 for myself, my husband and our teenager. Can't wait to ride it. You covered everything! This is one of the best reviews I have seen on UA-cam.
is it good
Just watch out for Karen in the white SUV she will run you over and blame you lol.
excellent review!!!!
Excellent review! Quality is fantastic.
Omg ginger !! I noticed it to I was freaking out just put it together and stood on it out the box to get a feel while it’s charging and there’s this weird little bit of flex after I made sure I tightened every screw carefully !
Excellent professional video~thank you
i saw this video after buying it, i learned a couple things i didn't know before, thank you so much.
same :D
Hey awesome! Happy to help.

Great review! just made my mind on my father's day gift!
Thanks!
Excellent choice.
Looking to buy my first electric scooter and I can safely say not only did I learn about this one, but what you get with each different class of scooter. Thank you so much!
Your review sold me. I just ordered.
Excellent review thank you!!!
can't wait to get my Hiboy S2 pro next week!!!
Same here,....mine is arriving next Tuesday
Absolutely fantastic review. Thorough, honest, informative.
One thing I would have been curious about, though, is power and acceleration compared to similar scooters like the Ninebot, especially for hills.
Pretty sure I've got a video with acceleration tests for this scooter on the cbannel. I know I do for the ninebot. They are more or less the same though, ninebot has a bit more umph. But until you get dual motors or over 1000 watts, then they are all pretty slow up hills.
@@GingerOnWheels Oh, nice! Thanks for the quick/immediate reply! I'll check it out
Thanks for the lock reccomendations...cool idea for your reviews!
Ya no problem, glad you enjoyed it.
Always lock your scooter onto something fixed.
A velcro tape loop on the handle bar to carry the cable lock around.
@@GingerOnWheels is the kryptonite combo u lock 12mm good for it? I bought one and have not tested it
Thanks for the very good and long review THANKS
Great review . I'm on the fence on buying this scooter soon. Thanks ! Also I noticed in the video you riding on the Redmond Park . I live near by and I love that park ! Lol
I've had queries to Hiboy due to my own ignorance on several occasions and have received responses within 12 hours each time. Amazing support team!
10:45 - Useful tip: a couple of squirts of hairspray onto the screw threads before seating them will help keep them secure. Almost unbelievable but true. Happy travels.
Ordering this today
i needed a scooter through this price range, thanks i’m getting this!
Link is in the description. Discount may or may not still be active 🤞
@@GingerOnWheels im subscribed btw. i watch all your videos, keep up the work.
Comprehensive! Thank-you.
Awesome video. Amazing
I just wish this was a more in-depth review. It really didn't tell me anything. JOKING! Awesome review and I got everything I needed to know before buying. Thanks!
Bro this review is lit I watched it 30 times before buying the scooter, and I’m still watching it after I got the scooter xD
So THAT'S where all the views came from! 😅
@@GingerOnWheels hahahahahahaah 😅😅😅
You the man Ginger
You're too kind.
Wow. Your review may have changed my mind about the Segway max. Thank you.
Check out the Hiboy S2 MAX. great new scooter.
@@GingerOnWheels ... I looked at the S2 pro cause of the no flat situation. How is the highboy MAX in comparison ?
I bought this scooter, it feels pretty quick.
How is the ride with the solid tires? Have you ridden one with pneumatic tires?
@@BlyGuy I’ve been riding this a couple of weeks and it’s a good ride. I have nothing to compare it to, but the suspension does kick in when going over bumpy ground. I’m sure high end scooters are more comfortable, but this was a really good solution for my budget needs. I will say that when I rear break the tires leave marks on the pavement, which is less than ideal.
@@t_flop thanks for the reply. I ordered one last night. I'm coming from a Swagtron Swagger 5, so this is a big upgrade. I like the Swagger 5, but wasn't a reliable machine.
@@BlyGuy how's it treating you so far? What's ur average range?
@@7KingCobra7 there were some issues with the shipping where it took just over 2 weeks to get to me and HiBoy gave me a free helmet for the trouble.
I've been riding it for a couple weeks now and love it. The bigger tires (compared with Swagger) make a huge difference in ride quality. Same with the suspension.
I live in Queens NY and the roads are awful, but I like the ride overall. I haven't done any range testing and usually keep the scooter with a good amount of battery. Highly recommend it so far.
Those red unglow lights are so perfect and huge for safety imo. Cars would see me from a km away and it looks like the red light fills in exactly the space a bike lane would regularly be, so cars have a better idea of how much space they should be giving me when they pass. Those lights should be standard!
I agree they should be standard on all scooters
Exactly! Thats what sways me away from the Max. It should have Under- carriage LEDs for the price you're paying.
I just bought one, got it delivered today.. and I gotta say it's freaking awesome.
How long was shipping time after you ordered it?
About 4 days
wow buddy, nice vid.. have a nice day
Interesting intro and cool transitions!
Thanks I put a lot of effort into my videos. Sometimes I think WAY too much. Makes me happy to see comments like this. Thanks for the support.
@@GingerOnWheels You're very welcome. We have a range of new e-scooters and we'd love to know what you think. Find out more on our UA-cam channel.
Love your vids bro.... An I got 3 pot holes to the but checks on my record 🤣
I love it when I see you rippin' down the Burke Gilman trail! I ride that trail all the time and often ride down the the U district. It's super pretty.
Hey, thanks for the great review, this really helped me when i was looking to buy a scooter. I have this one now but in still not sure, do you think it's ok to ride on gravel trails?
This is definitely not an off-road scooter. If the gravel is very fine and the path is mostly free of ruts, it could be done. I can tell right now that you won't enjoy the ride very much. This scooter is definitely for smooth pavement.
.....why is the quality of this review so.... Next freaking level?
A nice camera, a fun scooter, sprinkle in a dab of unemployment and, viola!
Good job man. Ima get this scooter to take my kids to school and pick them up also . Ima have them take their bikes and I’ll ride the 🛴 scooter
His intro tho..lol I see the rhyming skillz
i just rode my electric scooter 3.5 miles very bumpy on dirt rodes but i love it.
Hey what shoes are you wearing in this video those are sick af!!!!!!
Thanks this was super informative! :) Got a couple questions: 1. Are you able to attach both the aux headlight and phone mount at the same time or do you have to make a decision of one at a time? 2. Do you lock this with both the tchipie disc alarm and actual lock with alarm? What are your opinions is one lighter than the other or more/less effective? Thanks!
Yes to both accessories. Its a tight fit but they both work. For this scooter I usually just bring it into the store or wherever it is im going. Its not huge like the Wolf and I've never brought it in somewhere that cared or didn't have a place up front happy to watch it for me.
Hey ! I’m hella late on the review 😂 but thanks . Excellent!
The support experience you had was worrisome. I know this was 3 years ago so maybe it’s better now lol 😂
Your boots 🥾 look good brother. What are those?
Thanks for tuning in and subscribing 🙂 the bolts are some suade leather Timberlands I got a long while back. I can't recall the name exactly.
Glad to see that you eventually got the parts you needed despite the hassle. I bought the S2 Pro just a week or so before your first video on it and so far have had great luck with it.
Prior to that I had a GoTrax G4 that only worked for 10 minutes and GoTrax eventually (after many days of nonsense replies to my questions) admitted they have no way to diagnose issues for that model and no spare parts. It was returned to them for a refund almost 2 months ago now and I still never got a refund and have been mostly ghosted by their “customer service” team, prompting me to do a credit card chargeback. It seems poor customer service may be part of the price trade off, but at least your experience with a Hiboy was better than mine with GoTrax.
Dang! That sucks about your gotrax. Hopefully the s2 pro holds up better than that.
Looks like I found something to ride while my license is suspended LOL. How well does it do on slight hills or inclinations?
This was super helpful, thank you! I bought the scooter before I saw this (it's on the way!), but this definitely made me feel better about my purchase. I just have one question -- when you have the seat on, does it get in the way of folding the scooter at all? Does it fold too?
Yes the seat folds too. It doesn't really get in the way.
The seat folds too, but it gets in the way because of the saddle itself, unless you have time to and willing to spend some extra time to loosen the saddle, turn in it to left or right so it won't get in the way. Overall, I was never a fan of this design, and since I installed the seat, I had to forget about the folding feature of this bike.
p.s.
When you even try to fold the bike (without a seat on), the bar will not come down right on the locking mechanism on the rear fender. In fact, you have to hold the base and the bar in order to guide the bar to come down on the fender. Overall, it is too wobbly, and not something a young kid can do!
@@ramseyalizadeh it’s not a bike
Any issues with it 4 months later? Thinking about getting it
@@skmg2888 I really like it! The max distance is a tad lower than advertised (I've never gone more than ~19 miles on comfort mode) but it's rarely an issue and I love everything else about it. It's solid, sturdy, comfortable, and quick.
I was sold on the bell 🛎
U should do a review on the Gotrax G4, awesome scooter 😎👍
Yes, I’m waiting for that review also. Heard great things about that scooter
Gotrax is dogshit
@@7KingCobra7 really, my G4 outlasted my $2200 Apollo Pro, unless you rode the G4 u dont know what your talking about
I backed the suspension bolts off until only 3 threads were showing. I weigh 195lbs and noticed a much more compliant ride over seams and square edge bumps. I also give a pull on the bars like I would on a bicycle to help.
Make sure there is loctite on those screws so they don't come out while you're riding!
Great vid! At 10:40 you start talking about adding blue Loctite, do you know if there are any tutorials or something on how to do that just so I don't mess it up?
It's pretty easy actually. You just add a small drop of it to the end of the screw before you thread it in. You can watch me do it in this video. ua-cam.com/video/pNjQSop7eoA/v-deo.html
@@GingerOnWheels Thank you!!
This is one of the best (and funniest) scooter review videos I've seen. Thanks! How tall is the other rider in the video? I think we might be around the same height (5'1"ish), and I'm looking for a scooter that won't fatigue my arms as a shorter rider.
Also I know this video is a year old already, but just FYI, the GINGERONWHEELS promo code doesn't work.
Glad you like it! The other rider in the video is around 5'1", with shoes on 😁. She quite liked this scooter. Sorry about the code, I guess they discontinued it for me...
@@GingerOnWheels No prob, I just wanted to give you the commission, since I'd be purchasing it on your recommendation. Also, is there another scooter she likes more?
I would love to see you do a review of the S2 light. Nobody has done one yet.
It's probably safe to assume it's more of a kids toy. 250w and 13mph is like one of those mobility carts in the grocery store for disabled people. It's meant for either small kids, or someone with a very very small budget.
Ginger On Wheels The white one looks like a kids toy but I think the black one looks really nice and 180lbs weight limit is decent. A lot of scooters go around 15 so it’s not that slow. I also prefer a smaller scooter because there will be times when I will have to carry it
Ginger On Wheels Thanks for replying btw
Great review. Really appreciate the thoroughness. Since I see you're in Redmond, would you recommend this scooter for a commute from W Lake Samm Pkway, up 40th to the bus station on 520, bus to Seattle, and up James street to Seattle U? Would you recommend something else? I think the scooter would need hill climb ability, be lightweight and small for the bus, and handle Seattle wet weather.
I'd go for the vsett 9+ . This scooter struggles up the 520 trail to 40th, it requires some pushes. But the 9+ dual motors. Ip waterproof rating, and foldability, and comfort make it a far better choice.
@@GingerOnWheels I *think* 55lbs would be too heavy/cumbersome for taking it on/off the bus. I was looking for something less than 35lbs. But I’d appreciate your opinion on the practicality of the weight for bus commute
Hello Ginger on Wheels,
I am searching new grips for this scooter. Do you have any recommendations. I bought a pair of mountain bike grips but they were too long for the handle bar length ( I measure a length of 4.25 inch on break side and 4.5 inch on throttle side with a diameter of 0.87 inch (sorry for English units)). Thanks a bunch.
I bought this scooter and after the second time riding it, maybe 30 miles on it, it stopped turning on completely. I'm returning the defective scooter to amazon and I ordered an emove cruiser hopefully it lasts longer than 2 rides.
Wow, that sucks. Good thing you were able to return to Amazon. The Emove cruiser is a much more solid scooter.
I had my scooter about 4 months and had the same problem. It simply would not turn on. I contacted Hiboy and they walked me through a diagnostic procedure to see if it was the charger, the battery or the wiring. It was the battery. They sent me a new battery which was easy to replace. It has been working ever since. Then they sent me a free storage bag accessory for my troubles - about a $35 value.
Great review and you definitely helped me make up my mind to get the Hiboy S2 Pro. Is there a way to get more top speed out of the scooter, say to about 22 mph or more without changing a motor?
Love the channel, keep up the great work!
There is... but not without a ton of work. You basically have to rewire the scooter.
I wished I had seen this scooter before I got my s2r but I still love and have fun with my s2r tho
Do you know how the Hiboy S2 Pro compares to a nearly identical looking iScooter E9D from aliexpress? Would be interested to know if there are any significant differences considering they look very similar with similar features. Thanks.
Had my S2 Pro for about a month. It was well built, but after a month, the neck is wobbling. I also got an E4 error and a small shock to on my right hand near the bell. Hiboy said they are sending a new controller. BUT, the solid front tire and lack of suspension LITERALLY makes your eyes shake. I welcome suggestions to ride quality (change to pneumatic tire or adding suspension?) since it’s beyond 30 days and I can’t return.
this looks like the town i used to live in in redmond washington!
Just bought one it should get here on July 9-10
Hi Ginger On Wheels. Thanks for the great review!I just purchased this scooter from Amazon for my commute to work and back. It’s a three mile commute and I will be mostly riding this on a sidewalk. I live in Florida so it rains a lot. Will this scooter be ok if I get caught in the rain?
Did you watch this video?...
I did. And thanks again for the great work you do!
Amazing review ! Curious, I have the S2 - and advanced settings in the app does not show an option for acceleration/break response. Is that only available on pro ? Is there a way to reduce sensitivity on the electric brake ? Thx !
haha, im watching the review HiBoy S and suddenly I realize, “ he’s riding in Redmond!” And now all I can do is think, “where is he going to next…it’s definitely not summer…winter?” Brat video!
Yup, this was Winter. Inside the parking garage for the thumbnail and part of the video because it was raining too hard outside. 🤣
Hi, how do you lock up the disc breaks when they are so small using your suggested locks?
Mr Ginger i need help: I need to get my son a helmet, you recommended one in a different video that wasnt a motorcycle but was a mountain bike helmet, Id want one thats really light weight , any recommendations on a face shielded helmet?
Absolutely! The Bell Super Air R is my go-to helmet when its not freezing cold. I love the thing. Its extremely lightweight, has great air flow, and is super strong. I've smashed mine into the pavement an embarrassing number of times and it still works great! I even blew the front visor off one time in a crash and it just popped right back and and still works great. Plus, the jaw cover is removable so it works as a normal bicycle helmet too if you need it. It's not cheap, but worth every single penny. amzn.to/33lyYe9
Awesome review! How is this scooter in rain? I wanna commute to work everyday on it and I’m 30 mins away from the job. Will effect charging it after a round trip?
I wouldn't ride this one in the rain... The best commuter for rides in the rain is going to be the Ninebot MAX. It's still not recommended to ride that one in the rain, but if you watch my full range test video on the ninebot, I actually rode it around in ankle deep puddles to test it.
Great video...I should have mine in a couple of days. I know u did this review awhile back...but is there a waterproof rating on this scooter?? Ur all over the water in the vid...:)
Thx!!
No official waterproof rating. I wouldn't make a habit of riding it in the rain but it doesn't seem to mind a bit of water.
Dont ride in water and always tighten screws. I can hit 20 mph on mine in a straight road and 21 mph slightly down hill
Nice review. The published 220 pound weight limit is a total dealbreaker for me and I'm sure others.. many entry level/budget scooters this good can handle more weight, even the Evercross (the most under-reviewed great entry level scooter on UA-cam) EVK10 Pro which goes for $429 on Walmart/500 on Amazon, has 10 inch tires, an app, turn signals, dual shocks/pretty much equal speed and range... and great portability BUT not sure about reliability/service given their set-up.
Tbh the scooter wouldn't be fun if you weighed more anyway. It'd be too slow. Better off walking. 🤣
For weight above 200lbs I recommend something with dual motors, for hills.
For some reason when i bought my s2 pro on amazon it had the weight at 264 and they seem to have changed it. At any rate i weigh 235 and with a moderately heavy backpack i still get the full 19mph even on a slight uphill
I have the hiboy s22 electric long board and it does 25mph and is really fun. Just ordered this for girl so she can ride with
dam "today we have a scooter that doesn't blow it's the hiboy s2 pro lets go!" rhymes in a good way
My Hiboy S2 PRO is coming in 2 days.
I've seen some reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed yours especially the ninebot comparison. You made me feel very good about my purchase sir and i hope the good energy comes back to you pal
Thanks again
What do you think of it
