Just FYI, the suspension can be softened. It ships with the suspension at max firmness. On the underside, behind the seat post hole, there is a nut on each spring that can be adjusted with a 14mm wrench. 2 and a half full turns on each nut made a huge difference in the ride.

My suspension i had to replace after a year due to riding it on crappy roads. It isnt the best if your roads/sidewalks are not smooth as the tires are solid and you will feel every imperfection/bump. But overall its a decent scooter that'll get you from a-b pretty quick. Also hiboy sent me the replacement rear shock assembly parts free of charge, which was nice.

I recently picked this scooter up, and it's fantastic. Stellar bang for the buck. I agree with all of your pros and cons, and want to add one more con: You cannot rotate the throttle or the regen brake levers. The throttle placement is fine for me, but I really wish that I could rotate the regen brake lever so that it's oriented with the tab much more down facing. As it is, I feel like I need to raise my thumb way too high to hit it, and sacrifice grip strength on the bar. In an emergency situation when I'm suddenly grabbing it and my weight is being cast into the bar, I could see this being dangerous. Especially if it's raining or something and my hand is already slippery- There's a chance that my hand could slip forward entirely off the handlebar and that would 100% result in me on the ground. During braking is when I want the most hand surface on my grips.

I own this scooter and you are exactly right about the ineffectiveness of the rear suspension. Hitting bumps with the front wheel can be bone-jarring. I knew this before buying it, however - based on similar reviews. I didn't want pneumatic (smoother) tires because I wanted the peace of mind of never having to worry about getting a flat PLUS I knew that I was planning to ride the scooter on well-paved roads, sidewalks and paths. It's definitely not an off-the-road scooter. Even the smallest bumps, even the seams in the pavement are felt. Cobblestones? Forget it! GREAT REVIEW!

I got the first major problem after 2 years. When i try to press the throttle it wont go forward, so i have to give it the smallest amount of throttle for it to go. The first year of using it, the tyre and the rim wasnt sticking together anymore, so if i would try and be fast of the line it just wont go.
You would achieve alot of problems down the line, so thats why i upgraded to a Ienyrid M4 Pro S+ Max. I would say that is the best for the buck.
(Edit) i wasn't behaving the Hiboy S2 Pro very well... i were doing a bunch of stunts, burnouts ripping it across the city, and acting like i had quad suspension. I was driving it through the winter full throttle, and never washed it.

I have the KS4 Pro one thing I like about it over the S2 pro is the electronic brake and rear handbrake both are applied at the same time by just pulling the brake lever . the lever is also on the left side where it should be.They both work at the same time so you can slow down really fast and it feels very stable. braking with just your front brake is not ideal.

Nice review man! Maybe I missed it, but exactly how many miles did you put on it? I just did my range test video in 'comfort' mode and got 22.5 miles range (195lbs) It also exceeded my expectations in this department. Also a note on the rear suspension, I'm pretty sure its just for users with the seat. I've got the seat and you can really feel those springs in action when all/most of your weight is over the rear tire. Also, fun fact, you can prevent the grips from moving back and forth by removing them and spraying hair spray inside. :) IMHO this is still a better buy than the Ninebot MAX when you account for features, range, power, and price. Nice job with the review.

Does the basic model already have a hole ready to mount in the seat? Like can you purchase the seat/mount separately after purchasing the basic Hiboy S2 Pro Electric Scooter w/out the seat initially?

So, all of the video showing the scooter standing still were on grass. All of the video of it moving were on pavement. I'm curious to know the performance of this scooter on grass for short distances.
I want to get one for a job where I will need to navigate about the equivalent of a city block on grass several times a day, on the weekends. I have to do it relatively quickly and in dress shoes. Doing this in the past is a killer on my old feet and I can't use a golf car like the owners.
Any experience with something like that?

Really nice review. I’m debating over this and 2 other scooters being the go trax elite/ g4, and the kugoo G max that I’ve heard great things about. Hav you ridden any of these? My gripe w all these scooters is the warranty which shows they don’t tend behind the product.

I got the scooter in October last year and it did me great for about 10 month until the Folding mechanic some how broke or got extremely loose I checked it and there were two screws missing then big Big problems occurred after that the handlebar after a 10 mile ride would end up oneven with the tire. A few days ago The motor didn't function correctly I think the gears got messed up. It sounded like a dirt bike Just huge problems occurred like that. I bought a Varla eagle one yesterday and hope to update you guys
