@@jeremyrudder9009 I'm 5'11 140 and this scooter is phenomenal, it has lasted a while (purchased in September 2021) and reaches 19mph consistently and on hills gets up to 17pmh. Gets 21 miles range most of the time, which is more than enough for me.
@@dantefamularo6764 yes you can push it and still ride it if the battery ever runs out. I've had my S2 pro for a year and I've never completely ran out of battery.
The reason why he said that is because when he did this review his scooter is actually 350w the s2 pro when it came out was 350w but ever since it's upgraded to 500w!
Funny that I am looking at maybe getting a Max and adding the 48 volt kit (which gets 26-28mph for $275) just to avoid all the shortcomings of the other ones. How many miles have you had yours and do you have any problems?
My suspension i had to replace after a year due to riding it on crappy roads. It isnt the best if your roads/sidewalks are not smooth as the tires are solid and you will feel every imperfection/bump. But overall its a decent scooter that'll get you from a-b pretty quick. Also hiboy sent me the replacement rear shock assembly parts free of charge, which was nice.
I recently picked this scooter up, and it's fantastic. Stellar bang for the buck. I agree with all of your pros and cons, and want to add one more con: You cannot rotate the throttle or the regen brake levers. The throttle placement is fine for me, but I really wish that I could rotate the regen brake lever so that it's oriented with the tab much more down facing. As it is, I feel like I need to raise my thumb way too high to hit it, and sacrifice grip strength on the bar. In an emergency situation when I'm suddenly grabbing it and my weight is being cast into the bar, I could see this being dangerous. Especially if it's raining or something and my hand is already slippery- There's a chance that my hand could slip forward entirely off the handlebar and that would 100% result in me on the ground. During braking is when I want the most hand surface on my grips.
@@_inked_out It's holding up great! Awesome little scooter for the money. I upgraded to an electric unicycle earlier this year but still keep the scooter around for friends to ride when they come over.
I really like that there is a separate electronic regenerative brake, most of the time you can just use that unless you need to stop fast then use both, the brakes will last a long time
I own this scooter and you are exactly right about the ineffectiveness of the rear suspension. Hitting bumps with the front wheel can be bone-jarring. I knew this before buying it, however - based on similar reviews. I didn't want pneumatic (smoother) tires because I wanted the peace of mind of never having to worry about getting a flat PLUS I knew that I was planning to ride the scooter on well-paved roads, sidewalks and paths. It's definitely not an off-the-road scooter. Even the smallest bumps, even the seams in the pavement are felt. Cobblestones? Forget it! GREAT REVIEW!

hey, I'm looking at this scooter for my daughter to ride mainly to and from school. looking at this on line in its folded state looks like it'd fit in a locker, but since your kids have 1, do you think it would fit in a locker for school?
I got the first major problem after 2 years. When i try to press the throttle it wont go forward, so i have to give it the smallest amount of throttle for it to go. The first year of using it, the tyre and the rim wasnt sticking together anymore, so if i would try and be fast of the line it just wont go. You would achieve alot of problems down the line, so thats why i upgraded to a Ienyrid M4 Pro S+ Max. I would say that is the best for the buck. (Edit) i wasn't behaving the Hiboy S2 Pro very well... i were doing a bunch of stunts, burnouts ripping it across the city, and acting like i had quad suspension. I was driving it through the winter full throttle, and never washed it.
Some had talked about the stems on other scooter, boosted rev stem is similar to this scooters. people hated how the stem leans towards you. I didn't have a though. Good review man.
I got my GoTrax G4 about 3 weeks ago, its the same 20MPH Top Speed but I've already put 250 miles on it. I'm surprised the thing hasn't rattled apart by now
I have the KS4 Pro one thing I like about it over the S2 pro is the electronic brake and rear handbrake both are applied at the same time by just pulling the brake lever . the lever is also on the left side where it should be.They both work at the same time so you can slow down really fast and it feels very stable. braking with just your front brake is not ideal.
EV's use only regen/electric braking 90% of the time called 1 pedal driving makes you never have to replace the mechanical brakes. I plan to do the same on the s2 pro
Outstanding review. The thing about the angle of the handlebar thing was interesting especially. This seems good for the money but a bigger guy wants big suspension and battery size.

Can I ask why you weren't able to get them fixed? did you not get the warranty? seems like all things they should fix, no?
Any recommendations for a scooter for me? My daily commute is 6 miles total but the way there is almost all uphill. Plus money is sorta tight so I’m leaning towards a lower end price
How is the power on inclines compared to the hover 1 alpha? Is it any better on inclines?
At 6’3” and 240lbs, will this accommodate?
Hello do you prefer this or the nex5?
You said “this retails for $549.99” but the graphic numbers you popped in there reads $545.99 (just an FYI)
What do expect for a $700 scooter with seat? I have one and bought accessories and now it’s a Cadillac
Great review
If you had to Choose between both scooters, which would you chose... Hiboy S2 Pro or Hover 1 Alpha Pro?
Excellent review!
What is the size half Nelson lock-ons that would work on the hiboy? Most of ones say 8 inches in length...
How does this compare with NIU K2 pro , which do you recommend
great review thanks
Anybody have any recommendations for the handlebar extensions?
It's a 500W motor
You know that you can loosen the back suspension to give more travel and will be softer
The 20 mph screws me completely since anything above 15,5 mph is illegal in Finland.
You should try the Xiaomi pro 2 it seems like a really good scooter for the price
What features does this have that the regular S2 doesn't? Would it be worth a casual user to upgrade to Pro or will the standard suffice?
S2 Pro = 500 watt
S2 = 350 watt
epic scooter! thinking of getting one
Does it have lithium irin battery?
Why don't you just pull your handlebar grips out an inch on each side for more width? Or will that compromise safety? Never been on one yet. Good vid
I think because the e brake and throttle cannot be moved out with the handle bar
Great, but I need a scooter with great battery life and great range with puncture proof tires and a waterproof rating with great headlights and awesome braking along with a bell!
do you have any idea how to find the stem clamp parts because mine broke off
Should I get this or the s2r
I'm looking to get an e scooter, torn between s2 Pro or xiaomi Pro 2.
Just bought this scooter. Let's see how it goes for me 😆
u should do a review on the Hiboy MAX
The "slime" puncture repair fluid was a great tip for newbies like myself. 👍
Could you possibly give us some more tips on:
- What causes punctures?
- How to avoid punctures.
- How to replace inner tubes, tips tools etc
Don't run over shit that is sharp
Punctures of what exactly?
@@BlyGuy Tyre punctures on scooters...
Keeping them pumped up to the exact psi marked on the tyre helps...
@@SeeThroughist that's what I thought and was confused considering the S2 has solid tires and not pneumatic
