By the way, my mama is getting up in age and I'm gonna sing this to her for her birthday (November 18) before I might not get the chance for her physical ears to hear me sing this to her... I can sing the original version perfectly but this version is simply unsingable in my eyes unless you listen to it a trillion times and memorize it, I might attempt to wing it but it's improvised, I don't think I'll ever be able to sing this live version in Mr Johhnie's very own unique way! DAMN! 😧
I love this song. ❤. My husband dedicated to me 22 years ago, and he just recently died from the covid on October 9th 2021. He used to sing me this song all of the time. ❤. So every time I hear it, I treasure it even more now.🙏❤

Fantastic! The original sung by one of the best voices of the time. Just beautiful. All talent, live, with no garbage auto tune. I want to see that kind of perfection today.
old people (and i am one) are hilarious. you do realize that there were some folks born in the 20’s listening/watching to this that wanted them to put some shirts on and stop using this electric guitars. right? it’s a beautiful song and performance. no need to disparage anyone else’s art. and there are plenty of artists who carry on the tradition of live instrumentation and musicianship in performance.

I just love how easy Johnnie Wilder Jr. makes singing this song looks. I remember my amateur friends straining like hell to sing this!!! What fools they must feel like after seeing this performance.
😂😂😂
We used to use the hairbrush as a mic... LOL.. Growing up with these songs of Magic was the greatest period of listening, wishing I were one of the Supremes! Great memories & this song is everything ❤
what fools indeed....
He had a beautiful voice. Song is not easy to sing definitely.
I saw him, them(75?), ranked him best showman ever !. Aqua Lounge Philly. Small venue 52nd st. Stage was small close contact, he turned it. So sad about accident. Rod Temperton continued writing great songs. 2 of the best to EVER do it.
Damn, He was so smooth with this, I had forgotten, SIP Johnny..
I love Heartwave! A band of many backgrounds; 2 Americans, 2 Englishmen, 1 Jamaican, 1 Swiss, & 1 Czechoslovak. Rest In Peace: Ernest "Bilbo" Berger, Rod Temperton, Keith Wilder, & Johnnie Wilder Jr. 🙏🏽 🕊️
Talented beyond words!
I said it once n I'm gonna say it again Johnny wilder is one of the greatest singers of all time no questions about it man was a master at control n runs. Bless up
Funny …. All this time I thought he was Michael Evans from Good Times

can't argue that...simply can't.
So underrated.
Dang!!!! Johnie gets lost in this song! It literally overtakes him. Pure, raw talent! What an honor to watch him! ❤️
I'll soon be 75 years old, and it overtook me too! ❤
No one can exact those notes! This is truly a display of pure vocal talent!
Sorry but Philip Bailey could as well
Durand bernarr
@@bootsy7 that was the first name that popped up in my mind.
The good old days of great music.
*Brings tears of joy to my eyes every time I hear angelic Mr Johnnie sing this, couldn't be no more beautiful, lovely AND extraordinary!!! Rest in eternal peace to all the members that have passed of one of THE GREATEST BANDS OF OUR TIME but also... to my one true love, the love of my entire lifetime, my twin soul and my husband-in-Spirit Mark E. Bailey (4/26/73 - 7/1/03). "Rest peacefully until we love again..."*
DAMN! 😧
There are no words that can express how SMOOTH & BEAUTIFUL THESE BROTHAS WERE ☮️ ✌️
So very true!!
I love this song. ❤. My husband dedicated to me 22 years ago, and he just recently died from the covid on October 9th 2021. He used to sing me this song all of the time. ❤. So every time I hear it, I treasure it even more now.🙏❤
My condolences! ♥️
I'm so sorry Linda
My heart breaks for you. So very sorry for your loss. 😔💔
🙏🏿
my condolence and my heart go to you Linda
I LOVE HEATWAVE, NO AUTOTUNE, REAL SINGING. RIP JOHNNIE WILDER JR. YOU ARE A TRUE LEGEND
Quite possibly the hardest song ever to sing and Mr.Johnnie Wilder killed it His falsetto was second to none.
Heatwave is the real deal. No auto tune, pure talent and pure joy brought a lot of good memories from their music.
One of the greatest ballads of the 1970's!
The late 70s, disco music, and music like this song, remember it like it was yesterday
Of all time.
Although Johnnie Wider was passed, after I saw this live the first time, I fell completely in love with him, seeing his mother's interview just increased my adoration for this man, he to me was definitely one of a kind😍
I saw that interview as well. Very humbling they way she cherished him and gave respect to all the band members.
Robert from Manchester (England)
Voice of an Angel, face of an an Angel, how lucky they are in heaven, RIP Jonnie
Timeless..Just listened to Ain’t no half steppin..gonna definitely play it at my next dance party,Gods given talent these men had.
When I was coming up in the 80s they use to play this song every time we had a dances at our HighSchool. Who else had a similar experience? Good times back then. This was the song that was played when it was slow drag time.
When I first met my good lady wife we used to dance to this closely and plan our future.i just found this on UA-cam started playing it and my heart burst.remembering how we both were.both of us ravaged by illness and time.my darling wife just recovering from a stroke.mebwith a terminal illness.i looked over at her and said do you remember this song.the smile she gave transported me back all those years.of course I do we used to dance to it she said.thanks Johnnie wilder and thanks rod temperton .although passed some years ago.the memories you gave my good lady and me.are priceless.xxx
Ray, your comment is beautiful and I lift you both up in prayer, brother!
Yes it is. Our children of today will not have "that song" to reflect on..will they? Let's keep it alive through videos like this one. I hope you both are healed . According to His word God wants you to be.
🙏.

And this is live.... Absolutely Magnificent!!! you just can't beat Old Skool music, nothing like this exist in music today.
These young, new artists can't touch this classic... No competition anywhere.
Johnnie Wilder Jr. was something special.
Thank y'all for sharing this beautiful song with us 🙏
i can never get this performance out of my head
Everytime I want to hear good music, I have to go back in time. His voice & vocals was really breathtaking, I can feel it in my soul.
You, my dear, have a breathtaking soul 💜 don't ever lose it
Just pure class no more no less
I'm kicking it in 2024 ✌✌✌
Yes u can
I will always remember this group and this beautiful song! I will never get old for me..
This line up with Johnnie Wilder Jr. at helm, makes this recorded live version one of the very best I've ever heard.... What a TIGHT BAND THEY WERE!! Live is just as great as studio version here!
I wasn't born til 1972, but I remember my older cousin playing all kinds of music & this was & still is one of my favorites!
This live is BETTER than the recorded version!!
Johnnie sung the shit out of that song! 🙌💯🔥 R.I.P Johnnie Wilder Jnr ❤⚘
YESSUH‼️💯
🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
Can we just take a second to appreciate the harmonies
One of the top five love songs of all time. ❤❤❤ always and forever
That drummer was smooth afffff
This is what REAL Musical talent sounds like ❤❤
Thank You!
What happened with these talented artists from the 70s and 80s, the music now I really don’t listen no feelings like this song! It’s 2024 and I love all back in the day!😊❤
Some one please explain why THIS GREAT GROUP isn't in the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame. What am I missing ????
Because they only had 3 hits, and they were basically done after their 2nd album. Rod Temperton is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame though.

There will never be another Johnny wilder
Me too!!! I need this type of music 🎶
I dont think we ever will 😪
I HAVE TO SAY THAT JOHNNY HAD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE. GOD REST HIS SOUL, AND THE REST OF THE BAND MEMBERS THAT MET AN EARLY DEMISE.
June 2, 2024. Always like listening to songs from 1978. When l met Teresa Rosado.Still this day, l love her.❤❤
