Currently the Judicial branch is stacked with the minority party who cant be checked and are actively partisan, the senate overrepresents the minority party due to its inherent structure, and the house doesnt accurately represent based off population due to its house representative cap. There is no check. Trump will lose the popular but given their plan, it wont matter because of how the political system is structured.

This was recognizable as soon as Trump spoke at the Republican Convention. He showed us who he really was, but so many people were distracted by his vitriolic rhetoric. If it were fascism, they would be creating something like the department of education. They wouldn't be getting rid of it. They would create it, and it would be federal, and all the schools would have to do whatever it says. And it would answer to the president. That's something that Hitler would do, he was a fascist. He wouldn't tell the states to oversee their own education system and do as they think best. He would have a federal department of education telling each of them what to do and telling them to spread all kinds of propaganda into the kids' minds.

As someone who grew up in germany, I can't conceive how this is not alarming for everyone. It does feel like we are living in 1933.
I’ve actually had this exact conversation with some friends. There are a TON of worrying parallels to the last years of the Weimar Republic, from an aging head of state who some people call senile, a court system that punishes liberals and gives a free pass to conservatives, and a right wing demagogue intent on tearing the republic down.

One of the ACU/CPAC conventions in 2022 was held in Budapest, Hungary so the authoritarian could be their keynote speaker. Then again in Dallas, they fly him in to speak at their fall convention in 2022. I am fairly certain he spoke and met with those peoples again. I would bet that he had some input in the writing of Project 2025. The super donors at the ACU/CPAC and Heritage Foundation are the same exploitative profiteering donors. These donors like the Koch family bought our government to be a donor owned plutocracy since 1996. This is not enough for them. They want more. They are tired of funding all of Congress. They want to eliminate Congress and save millions. If they can remove all regulatory restriction, it would be Fred Koch's dream come true. Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts made the comments Tuesday on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, adding that Republicans are “in the process of taking this country back.”
Democrats are “apoplectic right now” because the right is winning, Roberts told former U.S. Rep. Dave Brat, one of the podcast’s guest hosts as Bannon is serving a four-month prison term. “And so I come full circle on this response and just want to encourage you with some substance that we are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”
Roberts’ remarks shed light on how a group that promises to have significant influence over a possible second term for former President Donald Trump is thinking about this moment in American politics. The Heritage Foundation is spearheading Project 2025, a sweeping road map for a new GOP administration that includes plans for dismantling aspects of the federal government and ousting thousands of civil servants in favor of Trump loyalists who will carry out a hard-right agenda without complaint.
His call for revolution and vague reference to violence also unnerved some Democrats who interpreted it as threatening.
