Good vid. The transfer case is actually a centre clutch. In 4 High Auto, it engages the front axle but doesn’t drive it until it detects a loss of traction and engages the centre clutch and drives both axles. It’s almost instantaneous engagement.
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia yeah, I don’t actually use it hardly ever. Tho jeep says it ok to use on sealed roads, I don’t like the idea of it inadvertently engaging, and not knowing if it has or not. Any dirt roads, I just go straight to 4H anyway. I think, but haven’t researched, but I suspect the ford ranger has a similar mechanism.
A very refreshing review actually going through proper tracks to show the real world of off-road. And tougher tracks you could do but not risking someone else's car. Well done mate.
Correction: I said in the video it has a centre differential. That is not correct. The '4A' mode uses a clutch system to transfer power to the front axle when needed. But it can be driven on sealed roads just like a vehicle with a centre differential.
I love the wrangler, but the prices are just absurd. The base model and higher trims are 20-30k+ more than they should be. The market has too many good options, and the sales figures of the Wrangler tell the same story. Is the Wrangler cool? Hell yeah. If I was buying today, would I get it? No - I'd probably grab a new Prado for that money.
This vs the Tank 300 ... you can argue for +$10K, maybe +$15K, but not $45K ... $93K drive away is absurd for such a simple car. They are selling the Gladiator for $66K ... and that's "more" than this one.
@@jaskmuhad698 Great question. Raptor is probably a better overall package and would suit a wider range of buyers. But it does chew fuel and isn't quite as hardcore off road in my opinion; it's too long and wide to tackle technical tracks, compared with the 2dr Rubicon, and doesn't offer as much flex.
It's such a shame it's so overpriced. Also, the vehicles suffer from galvanic corrosion around the hinges, which is not acceptable on a 90-100k vehicle.
Nice off road drive by an extremely biased Jeep fan boy, but stop calling this a review because you ignored the glaringly obvious faults, the ridiculous price tag, it's atrocious on road drivability, terrible safety rating, and atrocious reliability record.
@@johnwayne8475 Thanks. All true, except the bit about Jeep fanboy. This is clearly a specialist machine, not designed for on road driving. It's not a family car either. That's why I didn't comment on those areas. People who buy these know about all that stuff so I concentrated on the area that is most important to them.
Overpriced pile of crap. I’ve driven plenty of jeeps and the one that stuck in my mind was a 2006 2 door wrangler. Coming through the winding lane lang vic roads it was by FAR the most dangerous pile of shit I’ve ever driven. The yanks love WAY over assisted power steering for their fat asses with ZERO feel or feedback. Combined with a short wheelbase it’s a recipe for rollover. Thats why it you drop the sun visor down on the driver side it says AVOID ANY SUDDEN STEERING INPUT AS IT CAN RESULT IN A ROLLOVER. Thats a disclaimer because they were getting their asses sued in multi million dollar lawsuits. These things are a joke. I’ll stick to my bullet proof 120 series. More reliable better built goes anywhere stable on the road comfortable and enough room for everyone and everything.

Ah ok. Apologies. I assumed it had a centre diff - I should have checked that.
@ na all G it’s a common misconception. Infact it took me quite a while to research its engagement, but I found a video of a guy who pulls appart TCs.
@@operation4wheelz Yeah nice. Interesting way to do it, and better than not having 4A at all like many others.

Proud to have first view! Have been waiting months for an Aussie review on the SWB Rubicon... Great job!
It's good to see it on a track, unlike car sauce who took the Shark 6 on a gravel road then jizzed his pants over how it handled a flat dirt road.
CarSauce are a CCP mouthpiece.

Jeep the best manufacturers in the world..
😂😂😂😂 get real they’re RUBBISH
WHY THIS CAR IS SO OVER PRICE?? I CHECK ITS 93,000 WTF

Yeah, agree. It is too expensive for what it is.

Isn't Stellantis whom own Jeep going bankrupt and a stopping production. 🤔
Shame if they stop. They can make great vehicles, let down by operational deficiencies.
No
