There's so much to love about Mary! I respect that she doesn't show up with a massive entourage of assistants, and that her kit is pared down and manageable. Also notable is how generous and down to earth she seems - I get the sense that Mary is comfortable in her own skin, which I enjoy watching tremendously. One can see her performing her duties with a combination of artistry, psychology, and good old fashioned common sense. And of the many MUA's I respect, the one I would really enjoy having a cup of tea with is either Mary or Lisa Eldridge. Mary, you're terrific.

I love how she is real in how real doing make up works and that touching up making small changes also are part of it for a pro. Others cut this out and we all think this never happens and we might be less good mua's...but it's all just part of it it's all about making the endresult right ang being human.

Soooo true what she says about foundation drying darker. I recently tried Chanel Eau de Teint in Light, it went on pale as a ghost and I was convinced the SA had got it wrong, left and went about my day. An hour later, of course, it was the perfect shade and darker!

I have watched this so many times for Queen Mary. I wouldn't ever wash my face if she did mine. I'd spray over it with superglue so it never came off.

Sally, it looks like you're either sitting in a chair by your bathtub or on the edge of the tub to benefit from the wonderful natural light streaming in from the big window that is so essential for make up application. But I'm wondering where you usually put your own make up on? In my house the best light for make up application is from the window above my bathtub so for 20 years I actually stood in my tub with a mirror in the window sill to put my make up on. I've recently put a small vanity in my bedroom, where the light is alright but not as good in the tub and I'll probably end up changing back to the tub. Just curious if I'm the only bathtub makeup put-er on-er !
And for dark skinned ladies always better to be slightly darker with foundation than paler (ashy). Sally's bathroom is a big living room by HK standards . Love from HK
