She said there is absolutely NO foundation on the sides of the models face. She let the primer give a natural skin glow and put "a little bit of foundation in the center of the face" but that's all. She said younger people can pile it on but sometimes less is better for older skin. But I'm sure if you are older and wanted a fuller coverage all over the face she would say "that's fine, do what you like. Own your look!" She's never pretended to create something that's not there. I've even seen her say "oh, I made a mistake" and showed it. So no con. Just great makeup techniques. 😍👍🏻

I much prefer the natural look, makeup should accentuate your features, not hide them and I think that message has got lost in translation over the years. So many young women use makeup as a mask.

The problem....my problem....with shimmery eyeshadows is that they highlight the aged texture of my once-smooth eyelids. If I'm going to wear a shimmery shadow (always only on my lids) I use a matte shade first, that matches the shimmer shade or is just a bit lighter. Then I apply the shimmer shade over the matte base. The matte base softens the appearance of the skin on my lids and the shimmer looks much smoother.
Can Mary do a tutorial for women with very dark underneath the eyes but also have some lines there too? My eyes are sunken on top and dark all the way around and also have fine lines underneath
I love this, this sends a positive message, especially for younger girls and women into their 30s who may be afraid of ageing, that beauty can be found in all decades of life. If we saw more tutorials on older women, and not just on 20s models, we’d all feel better because this model is stunning.
