Loving this series of videos. Mary is a joy, her talent and enthusiasm just shine. Sali, read your book in one sitting and re-reading it again, it's one of the few books that gives honesty back to beauty, be who you are and use the expensive bath oil.
oh beautiful Sali, You look STUNNING! and Mary Greenwell is such a GENIUS! i love the ways, she is doing make up. She is so intuitive and incredibly talented. Love You both x
Waiting for my copy Pretty Honest to arrive. I asked a friend to bring me a copy from the UK as it not readily available in the States except electronically. I adore you, Sali. Thank you and Mary for this wonderful series of videos. I have thoroughly enjoyed them! What a treat to have THE Mary Greenwell do you makeup! -Anna
I am loving the behind the scenes videos, Mary Greenwell is fabulous and its such a treat and an education to watch her at work. Sali you look so beautiful, even with no makeup on in the first video your skin is amazing and I'm now coveting some eyelash extensions. I can't wait to get the book now, I need to hunt it out in NZ. :-D
At 2:24, a huge chunk of highlighter powder smeared onto sali's cheek (bottom of). It's funny to see Mary's reaction: "what the heck?" and also makes her more relate-able.
Love Sali Hughes beauty and the last you tube posts with the fantastic Mary Greenwell have been sooooooo enjoyable and informative. Thank you so much for making make up real. Please keep the fantastic posts coming
Sooooo lovin this series Sali !. Would love to see more In The Bathroom videos. Think all us girls are just natural Nosey Parkers !. On the second read of your book and lovin it ! Xx
"Sisters, not twins." = brilliant observation. Sali's passion for makeup is clearly apparent; and further, she is a solid interviewer. I feel like I'm right there w/them, either as Mary's "silent" assistant or the one holding the camera. Speaking of Mary I adore her: a true ARTIST. Loving these vids, especially the one when Sali interviews Mary re: her Pro Kit (I've watched it so many times!). And, the "In the Bathroom" series is equally stellar. When I need inspiration to clean my own bathrooms, I take my laptop & BT speaker in and clean away. ;) With those, Mary's and Charlotte's episodes are just a dream & Zen inspiring. Ty for sharing these intimate portraits--I'm learning so much; and even the various settings are just too cool for words. Things to Do Life List: a UK visit. Subscribed. Tschüß^^
Finally someone who is using the right curved brush for highlighting. I never understood the "fan" brush... it's curved the other way!!! Haha. This hugs the cheekbones. Yes!! x
Great videos! what an artist Mary Greenwell is! I wish there were more videos of her doing make-up and Sali looks beautiful does anyone know which of the two Suqqu balancing brows she used? the one with green or the oher one? xx
09:20 What if you have natural red eyebrows? I have been searching for a rusty brown pencil for 10 years without any luck. Or maybe that advice was specifically for Sali...
You should try looking for the anastasia beverly hills brow wiz in your color of hair, she has a variety in ranges of color wether its powder, pencil or pomade
Love the look! Mary is such a genius! Question: Rather than picking the powder up with a brush then wetting it, would using water directly on the powder inside the kit ruin the product? Or would it dry back to normal? I want to get the Chanel brow kit, but I'm afraid to experiment with it right away (and potentially ruin it lol). Thanks!
Everywhere I work (Lauder counters) I sell out their sculpt brushes and angled brow brushes! The brush was designed when Perfectionist foundation launched. And can be used with any foundation. The idea is that this also being a Kabuki brush will buff out the foundation without distributing too much in areas by using barely a pump evenly down the brush and makes blending easy for the everyday woman. It cups the contours of the cheeks, jaw and can fit in those delicate areas under the eye and nooks and craney's around the nose seamlessly. This brush doubles as a foundation and concealer brush. If you use the 3 & E concept for placing the foundation first then blending out and up this brush will blur out pores and imperfections as well because of the Kabuki/contoured shape. You can blend out foundation in 60 seconds or less once getting the hang of using it. 😉
I love Mary's makeup - she is a genius. It can sometimes seem chaotic as she applies it (on Get the Gloss)) but suddenly comes together stunningly. I really really don't like those false eyelashes though. Far too heavy and obviously false. I suppose they are maybe just for photos though? I just thought they threw everything out of proportion.
Wait, sorry, I think I might've missed something but I thought they didn't put in false eyelashes. I think Sali just has eyelash extensions and they look super dark and obvious here because of the extra liner and mascara...
Mary you need your own channel!

Queen Mary never fails to teach me something new! You remind me quite a bit of a young Liz Hurley by the time Mary's waved her magic wands.
Yeah! I feel the same way. They look like identical!
Sigh, why can't she have more videos around? Mary is the best....Sali looked gorgeous.
Mary needs her own channel with a million tutorials!

Finding a brilliant threader is a great way to get started, then you can just maintain. x
I think the seagulls want some makeup too
the sound quality is very echo-y and poor.
