No more bananas on the boat!!! 😅 What a day! You did your good deed tho. You seem so much happier since you've been in Florida! Stay safe and Happy Holidays!!!
The captain of the yacht is clueless. He should come out of pocket with all the money to have your boat fixed up at a reputable shop. He sure was anxious to get your help, and then he leaves your boat busted up. I sure hope he takes care of your boat, but I’d be surprised if you ever hear from him again.
hes liable because this guy decided today he wants to use his personal vessel to tow this guy out? where's the contract saying the guy that was stuck is liable for the damages?
You now know why tow boats have cages around their outboards, tow with a 200 foot line, and keep a sharp knife on their belt. A lot of people have more money than brains.
my first thought was - so they had two idiots on a boat - 1 driver and 1 filming not helping with the line like responsible boat users would 🤣more money than brains.
Just for the record, the display of state registration numbers on the bow isn't required for documented vessels. If it was documented and you made note of the vessel name, owner information would be in the USCG database. However, this boat *IS* DISPLAYING FLORIDA REGISTRATION, just incorrectly. There is a Florida sticker in his port side window, and number placards are affixed below the window on each side of the boat. His registration is: FL 2159 SX
Your videos have great action moments if nothing else. I'm sorry about the damage after you worked so hard to put it all together. Next time, you know to get the other guy's info first. I love your hard work putting these videos together. Keep the love flowing. Happy Holidays.
I’m so curious if the guy took care of you. I’m an insurance agent and I know insurance prices in Miami is so bad that they come to the middle of the state where I am and try to use and address here to get it cheaper. Lots of fraud down there! Anyway love your videos and your friend had me dying laughing 😂
Wow! you tried to do the right thing and no good deed ever is appreciated. Scary to think that these kinds of boaters are out there. Stay safe and thanks for helping him!
I've been with you since your Ambo days and this is your best content yet. Dude, you fixed it on the fly after your mishap of mercy and continued your adventure. I'm in awe. Great video also.
When you leave bear cut or the fingers at stiltsville the swell is worse before it settles in, looks like 3 ft swells and generally safe but uncomfortable conditions. After the engine / throttle things and an incident, better not to run out too far. Looks like you two had fun and that's what it's all about.
@BrandonGross I was first attracted to your channel because of your diving. I like to dive also but I won't go higher than around 45 feet head first. I'm 63 but I still enjoy the cliffs of Negril Jamaica.
This is the guy who disconnects his trailer bow strap/cable & safety chain *BEFORE* he backs down the ramp.😅🤣😂 Keep it up! One day...a different boat on a, different trailer at a different ramp... it's gonna bite ya in the _ _ _.
Brother Brandon. As I type this message, it is 12 degrees in Rochester, NY. I am so sorry that such an awesome good deed brought this damage. I love the fact that you are living your dream dude!! hey, what drone do you use in your videos? I am so interested in getting a drone. If you get an opportunity, and can toss a reply in your drone info and round about cost and features, I would greatly appreciate it. Keep up the awesome content Brandon!! Such an awesome channel!! Sully
Props to you for keeping your cool and making the best of it even with the issues you faced that day. I have a boat too, and would be devastated if somebody smacked into it. I hope that guy pays you back. It’s a good sign that he at least gave you his real phone number. I would love to know what happens of that.
Just a suggestion. Consider keeping a dedicated towing bridle on the boat. One long rope that goes from one side of your transom to the other, and long enough to extend beyond your outboards, and then another rope with a loop that the transom rope passes through. This second rope could also be the rope that the boat in distress passes to you. This way, you evenly distribute the load across your entire transom. If set up correctly, you will have a nice V shape behind your boat when towing.
I’m really enjoying your channel. You know a good amount about boats but are still learning like me. But it’s nice to see the normal side of boating. The not so pretty fun side of it. It’s not always perfect but it is amazing. A labor of love, but amazing.
Just started following you, love the content. Cool to see I am not the only one on the struggle. I don’t know if you’re aware of Boca Chita key, you can dock and over night there and it’s not to far from Crandon marina.
Always help a fellow boater. As far as the bananas... I wouldn't worry to much about it. I've been boating for over 30 years with no issues with it. I've boated on Lake Michigan for many years!!
Well damn Brandon! That man didn’t seem to knowledgeable about his boat and what he should have done to avoid hitting your boat! Like you said he could have slammed it in reverse! Hopefully he makes things right with your boat! As others are saying “no good deed goes unpunished!” You’re an amazing guy Brandon!! Those waves were a bit crazy 🌊😬 I’d feel so weird being out there in the middle of the ocean! I don’t know if I would be able to do that! Thanks for the video!! Gonna go watch the latest one! Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy blessed New Year 🎉🎉🎉 Love you Brandon!!
Hey, love the video. Just a note, the marine forecast for Biscayne Bay is different from the offshore forecast. That’s why you won’t see the wave height listed, just the chop/conditions on the Bay. Welcome to Miami-you definitely had a taste of the insane boat culture here! 😂🛥️⛵️
It’s the bananas I had similar issues with my 2 banger merc starter cog had wear and tear and wasn’t matching in with the crank. The minor wear mine had you wouldn’t think it was a problem as soon as I replaced its went in the crank every time. Also try getting into learning to fibreglass work. Would help in the future for repairs but would fix cowling easy and cheap
Having your props facing the towed boat can prop wash sand from under the boat making freeing it a bit easier. Good on you for helping him though. I got asked once to tow a 15' ally boat, with my kayak! Needless to say, he rowed himself back.
Life long Miami boater here. I have no problem helping a boater in a jam. But I study the situation carefully and then decide if I will assist in a tow. But i I am low on fuel or down to one engine, no go! Loading up the only working engine to drag a 15,000 boat off a sandbar is asking to be stranded. The "I'm Cuban no insurance" also pisses me off. I have a lot of Cuban friends who are boaters and they all have insurance.
I've been watching your recent videos. Have to say that I'm impressed with how you've tackle the challenges that your Robalo has brought. You may think you have no experience but I disagree, the most valuable experience that a boat owner can have is the ability to resolve issues without having to outsource the labor. There will be times when you'll have no choice but you obviously have abilities that many boat owners don't have. As far as the grounded Sea Ray, I could suggest a few things that may help for next time but overall you did good. I have always wondered how some people own boats like that Sea Ray but have no experience. Typical Miami. Glad to see he paid you for your time and trouble and hoping he followed up with any additional damage. Keep up the good work. I have been a working captain (military and private sector) for over 30 Years and wish there were more boaters like you.
First of all, your Spanish skills are on point. People like this other guy makes good people to be hesitant to help others. I can’t understand how he left knowing you had engine problems and he just crashed into yours. Last but not least, your demeanor and positive attitude after all that happened is why you will continue to success in life.
What you are doing is just bananas😂. Wait till the weekend and PWCs start banging off the sides of your boat. You'll have a lot of practice with your Spanglish.😂😂😂
biggest mistake i see is that you should have been prepared to ditch that line FAST, whether that be cutting it or just looping over the cleat rather than properly tying off the bananas 😂
I’m a yacht captain in Destin Florida and I will say this guy is humble and very very knowledgeable. There are some 100 ton captains that don’t understand the common sense that this guy has.
Bananas on the boat and in Miami. You must be out of your mind. My Cuban Friend always making the example. 😂 - 40 foot boat - didnt know how to drive - no insurance - no boat US

The length is quite helpful in keeping the towed boat in good water. Lastly, get a Marine Radio and monitor the weather, sea state and the forecasts. Be well.
Really nice of you to pull him out. That guy had to be drunk or on drugs or something. He was definitely in gear and accelerating. Looked to me like he was trying to drive away and was too messed up to realise you were still tied together. It is always the responsibility of the towed party to keep the line tight, doesn't matter if you are towing a car or boat.
I would have told the guy, sorry, you gotta call Boat US or Sea Tow. Something happens and one of them got hurt they can sue you big time. Don’t mess around.
Exacly. As long as nobody's life was in danger he should have just called for a tow. That 40ft was way too big to pull out with a small boat with one motor. It's a good way to end up with a big repair bill yourself
I been living in Miami and key Biscayne boat ramp is the best ramp here, don’t go to 79th st boat ramp 😅 it’s ah mess. -Try to do more offshore content like that you get use to the wave so when you go to vimini.

From the drone’s (or insta 360’s) viewpoint (@ 21:09) you gorgeous boat 🛥️ looks like a tiny little toy boat.🚤 It’s funny how the perspective changes the reality of the scene!! I hope that you are able to find the guy from the other boat 🛥️ and get him to pay for the damages done to your boat!🥰❤❤
Check the transom. Hes got diesels . Must have the money for insurance. That Robalo is a very nice boat .repair it and keep it going. Keep the cowl . Repair the fiberglass and paint the motors. Custom paint.
Bro I been boating for over 10y in SFL and you will be surprised with everything you will encounter here. Just be careful and trust no one, the water is no joke and injuries can be fatal, but don’t let the bananas ruin your experience, we definitely have the best weather in the world
Wonder if his money is legal? Just wonderin. I sure hope he follows thru for you Brandon. Have a great Christmas and looking forward to you going to the Keys. Ya gotta check out Duval Street.
It was definitely the bananas buddy definitely a bad omen I believe the legend goes something like this when they would ship bananas back in the day during the sailing ships they would get fruit flies I heard it was a very bad thing
Also it's not as easy as a cracked cowling a lot of times, a yacht bumped into our center console at low speed on the dock, looked ok but we had it surveyed because they had insurance. Their was structural damage, they had to send the boat up to the manufacturer in north carolina. I was gone 2 months. We lost of lifetime hull warranty. when all was said and done with the repairs and loss of hull warranty think it cost the insurance company about 100k.
Brings bananas, loses an engine, gets run over by an unregistered boat without insurance… 👌🏼next time leave the bananas at home and don’t assist in ways you aren’t equipped to.
Your engine was having problems before the gentleman helped you and it looks very good in the video. You wanted to help him because he told you he had money.

As soon as the boat was freed, dude demonstrated why he got it stuck to begin with.
As I wrote, I'm continually amazed at how some people buy boats that they have no business operating.
Comment of the year 😅😂
@@302Camaro There were multiple issues here, not all on the part of the Searay owner. Some classes and learning would also benefit our operator.

No bananas on a boat and going scuba diving, I've learned. Glad everything turned out ok man 🤘🤘
dude i told you a long time ago. bananas have no place on a boat. ancient mariners figured it out the hard way. lol.
