- Motorcycle Touring Doesn't always go right! In this motorcycle Vlog we continue our Tour of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England on our BMW R1240 GS Adventure by making our way to the Peak District to ride the recommended Snake Pass.
Running short on time we skip some destinations on our Motorcycle navigation unit and end up riding through Bradford city centre in rush hour - what a mistake.
The Peak District and Snake pass is a much welcomed break from the chaos of the city.

Great video of my local stomping ground. Sadly you witnessed in Bradford what is becoming the norm in many British provincial towns.
The Snake Pass and the Cat and Fiddle are infamous for their nasty accidents, hence the 50 mph limit!
The Snake Pass is actually named after a local Coat of Arms rather than the curvy nature of the road.
I'm sad the Peak District seemed to let you down. Unfortunately it's getting worse; villages and beauty spots are getting very crowded and people in general are getting more fractious.
I hear Switzerland is nice...... 😂

Yeah from what people have said that road had become a bit of a racetrack! -a few ruining it for the many.

The peak district was great but with all the roadworks and wrong turns (our fault) it felt a bit stop and start, plus we started the day in the Lake District so was a big day 😁. Haha yeah Switzerland ain’t bad 😉

@@SeanandEmily yeah, the Coat of Arms involved a Snake and is connected to Chatsworth Hall Estate and the Duke of Devonshire. There used to be a pub at the bottom of the Snake Pass aptly called the Snake Pass Inn!
The Peak District is lovely and full of great places it's just a pity there's so many roadworks and crowds!!

Ahh okay, we’ve been to Chatsworth house and it’s an impressive estate. Yeah will have to go back and make sure we have more time for it next time 😎

Ive just returned from a 4k mile trip round Scandinavia, talk about no signal, however, I've binned my BMW Navs, and now using the Carpuride 702B, clips straight into the BMW mount. Using google maps through Andriod Auto. I left the UK wondering if the network coverage would cause issues, so i downloaded all the maps i needed at home. Not once did my Carpuride stop navigating. Worked a treat, and with the 7 inch huge clear screen, ill be keeping it, in fact, it will be fitted to my new R1300GSA When i collect it.

The peak district has some fabulous (and infamous) roads (snake pass, cat n fiddle etc) but they now have low speed limits and draconian enforcement on them. No doubt brought about by many accidents because of people driving/riding excessively fast and coming to grief! It is a beautiful part of the world though and well with a visit, just don't expect the riding to be as you think!
Still got your wheels on the bike after Bradford,😂😂 it seams the u k in this day and age is bonkers now , safe riding
Holmemoss is my neck of the woods. I riarely go on the snake theres too many nutters on a weekend risking everything.
Hey Jonathan, nice place that! We didn’t get to see everything we planned to see due to road closures. Yeah we noticed a few ‘sporty’ guys so guessing at times it gets a bit crazy!

Bradford wasn't a good satnav visit for me ether. Ring road Is ulez zone. And got a fine £££.
Haha did it get you too? 🤣 only skipped a few points thinking it would save time lol ! Stuck in traffic in the centre of Bradford we see wondering if the Peak District had been moved 🤣🤣.
Those ULEZ zones are a right pain!
