So, to be clear, let me recap just so I understand what’s going on:
Gio is made a squad player by Gregg due to his attitude and his place in the pecking order of the team
Gregg makes it known to the public
Gio’s mother, apparently angered by this, decides to drag up an incident over 3 decades ago involving Gregg, purely for the purpose of ruining his PR
She’s known what’s happened for a long time, and chooses to expose it now simply because her son doesn’t start for the US? Not a single word until Gio was told that he would have a limited role?
    Is this not blackmail?

Gregg didn't make it public until AFTER the World Cup at a leadership conference and insults Reyna by calling him an "immature kid".
She responds by pointing out his own immature behavior at that age.
It had NOTHING to do with Gio not starting or being told he had a limited role. It had to do with Gregg being an idiot and publicly outing Rayna AFTER the WC when he told the players during the World Cup" This will all be kept in house". She did it because Berhalter betrayed the locker rooms trust that it would be kept behind closed doors and then insulting Reyna to boot ruining REYNA's reputation.

Gio was expected to be one of the young stars of the tournament along with guys like Gakpo, Musiala, Bellingham etc. But that didn't happen so Gio is going to have to wait a little bit for that big payday. Reyna decided to use this as revenge. There are no legal repercussion from revealing the DV incident from 30 years ago so this was literally all about ruining Gregg's PR.

"I benched a star player for no reason"
Come on. We wouldn't believe that anyways.

This is on the parents what they did was wrong but Gregg was also wrong. And from previous behavior I also think Gregg is lying about certain aspects nowhere has any black mail been shown they told Stewart about what he did. They didn't make a public statement they were just mad that their child was being dragged by a trusted family friend and in the end this is all comes down to the fact that the federation needs retooled no more hiring friends and brothers and let's be more professional

What a really bad take even if you disagree with Danielle Reyna. The mistake she made here wasn't her keeping a secret back in 1991. The mistake she made was telling people when she likely did not get the clear from Rosalind who is the only one who has a right to tell this story as the victim. Danielle obviously didn't think the DV was okay when it happened but it's obvious that Rosalind didn't want her to report it. It happened 31-32 years ago and is long in the past.
Danielle's point was asking why GGG got to be forgiven for a worse transgression and allowed to keep it private when her son at a similar age did nothing that severe but had his name dragged through the mud by the very same person. I understand the point she was making but the real violation here was Rosalind's trust. That does not mean however that she thought DV was "OK for her as long as her son is in the US head coaches good books." That's just an insanely bad faith take that not even pro GGG people have said, at least before I read this comment.

To be fair he is probably the best player US has after Pulisic and McKinney. Gio is likely gonna be the US version of Gio Dos Santos.

Tournament-winning teams do not usually have these types of issues internally or at least they act very professionally on these matters and all of this because of lack of sufficient talent.

This is is pathetic a’f. This is why parents shouldn’t be involved. I know we’ve seen incidents before with the France squad regarding parents & family but this takes the cake. Completely uncalled for from the Reyna family. I’m not defending Berhalter by no means cause I don’t think he was the coach to take the USMNT to the next level but for him to leave in this manner is pathetic.

Ive been breathing for 25 years and have never once kicked a girl while in an argument. Weird how we’re all forgetting that’s the point being made 🤷‍♂️
