- In this video we will do an unboxing of the Tamiya Toyota Hilux Extra Cab on the CC-01 Cross Country Chassis! I'm super stoked to have been able to find this vehicle as it was the last vehicle to come out on the CC-01 Chassis and I love the "Bruiser" livery.
I also intend on building this 4WD in tandem with the Tamiya Ford Bronco 2021 on the CC-02 Chassis so stay tuned for more details on that as I go along. There are a number of projects I'm working on at the moment but these two are getting closer to starting.
I've also decided to list out all the different models that came out on both the CC-01 and CC-02 Chassis below.
Enjoy!

Nice video Freddy. I like the vintage design on the modern body.
Thanks Dirk. And yes, completely agree with you. I think it will be nice to have that design even though it's not a bruiser :)
Super cool! I like the touch of old school. Tribute to the Bruiser. You'll so it justice for sure. Nice vid Freddy 🔥
Thanks Thomas! I have to admit it's a big feature for me. The Bruiser was the creme de la creme so it will be nice to do a version of it!
Very cool! I am with you, I can't justify spending all that money on one truck like the Bruiser! This one should be an interesting build to watch as I have not built a CC01 yet so I have no experience with it. Have fun with it and I'll be one the lookout for the build!
Yeah...it's just too much $$$ for one kit right now. I can dream :) But thanks Addam. I remember it being a fun build but it's been almost 30 years since I've built a CC-01 so it's going to feel like a new experience for me I'm sure. So it will be cool to do a direct comparison. But just fyi....had some unfortunate news though. We are having a port strike here in BC which has disrupted shipments so I've been told that all the bearings I've ordered are going to be delayed for a couple weeks so I'll be moving on to another project for a bit. I'll keep you posted! Appreciate you stopping by as always.
@@FastFreddyRC well that stinks! Hopefully they show up sooner than later!
Yeah it definitely does...crossing fingers!!@@AddamsPlayground
Nice unboxing 👌
Thank you!
I had a cc01 Isuzu mu-x that was a lowrider version with the lowered shocks and the hardbody. It also had deep dish chrome rims and wide tires.
Nice! I think I remember them making a low rider version. Have to say that that body set looked really good on the CC-01. Even now when you see videos of them the body looks fantastic on the CC-01.
@@FastFreddyRC they had a Mitsubishi version of it with the shorter wheelbase.
@@bradkalman2353 ua-cam.com/video/Yzphu7tbV40/v-deo.html - this is a great video of it…but it’s not the low rider.
@@FastFreddyRC are you showing me my video I am glad you watched it.
@@bradkalman2353 No! It’s from Matteo’s RC! I tried looking for a video of it on your channel but couldn’t find one.
Hi there Freddy, another great Tamiya. I’ve got the CC-02 (Mercedes-Benz G500) and the CC-02 chassis is really nice. This daddy to the the CC-02, was a cool chassis too, and that Toyota Hilux cab, well, it’s going to be US (Ford) vs JPN (Toyota) in the looks state 😂😂😂, we’ll have to see FF versions 😊😊best wishes 😊
Yes indeed. Really happy to have found this John. Do they make the G500 still? I was surprised when I went looking recently that you couldn't seem to find it available anywhere. But I'm definitely excited to start the builds. And yes you're right...US vs Japan...hadn't thought of that lol - Thanks John, you too!
@@FastFreddyRC hi Freddy, in the UK,the Mercedes G500 on the CC-02 is available. Best wishes 😉😊
@@JF-RC cool!!
Nice find. It took we some time to find one at a reasonable price. I don't believe mine came with lights. I will have to look
Yes thank you! Was quite surprised. I think it depends where you are in the world. Sounds like for the North American marketplace they included the lights.
Sweet.. Man thats cool.. You gotta stop showing me these cool cars..👍
Yes very! Was so happy to have found it! - and yes, I know lol - it's terrible isn't it? :)
They stop making the cc01 we should do a petition to get Tamiya to make them again the petition should be signed by everybody around the world who'd like to see you continue and send it to Tamiya.
Yeah it's hard to know their plan. I would think they could use the CC-01 and CC-02 and depending on the model the y release it could go on either. I wonder if it will come back?
Even though the new bronco should have been on cc01 cuz it has an independent.
Good point.
