The Cure- Just Like Heaven (REACTION) ua-cam.com/video/KmGA6ap-7Mc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JayveeTV
@JayveeTV - Recommended song to react is Grayson Hugh - Talk It Over. A masterpiece gem of Classics 👍❤
Check out "Friday I am in Love"
"Just Like Heaven".
Yes. Thank you. I really love this. Cover version by 311too
May I suggest reactions to First Aid Kit - The Lions roar and Farin Urlaub - OK... also perhaps Silverchair - Emotion sickness.... or Babylon Zoo - Spaceman. So many things to choose from!
Smith wrote this as a wedding present for his fiancée, Mary Poole, shortly before they got married in 1988. Smith has remained steadfast in his devotion to Mary, whom he met at school when he was 14. This is one of their greatest songs but you should try "Let's go to bed".
Deffo! 👍👍👍💖
I love that song!
The opening lyric of Let's Go To Bed made me ask the question of how... and then I got the pun XD
Yes! Great recommendation.
Ohhhhh...l'amour
"I didn't want this song to end."
Nobody ever does, my friend. Nobody ever does.
They are no one hit wonders, the cure has the goods and is still going strong.
Has anyone remotely accused them of such? Doubtful 🤨
>>They are no one hit wonders
Best band ever
Sorry man but for me this is the only song i like by them
@@RetroKingOG you’d be woefully incorrect. Possibly the best band of the 80s and one of the best all time
"Just Like Heaven" and "Friday I'm In Love" are great as well.
He reviewed Just like Heaven a few months ago. It was a good review😃
From a multi decade fan of the cure. Friday I’m in love sux compared to all their other songs.
@@chuckread5801 That's, like, just your opinion, man lol.... how 'bout Boys Don't Cry then?'
@@waynebush7934 gotta admit I'm with Chuck, it's definitely not one of their better songs & I pretty much love all their stuff
@@jadecawdellsmith4009 Whatever, it's one of only two Cure songs to make the top 20 on the US Hot 100 chart, Lovesong being the other. Plus it reached #1 on the US Alternative chart. I'm done commenting on these forums. People just hate.
Close To Me, The Lovecats, Boys Don't Cry, Friday I'm in Love, Let's Go To Bed, Why Can't I be You, Lullaby, In Between Days and Mint Car are other great Cure songs you haven't done yet.
''The Crow '' Movie they did the main song for ..Burn I think it's called ..That's a great one aswell.
@@lawrencekelli Yeah, they/Robert did great work with that song, and it was so well placed in the movie.
In Between Days might be my favourite.
Don't forget "TheWalk" and "Burn"...
@Jenn Stetler Trust is my favorite: ua-cam.com/video/iXNBF6yPkas/v-deo.html
They just got inducted into the Rock an Roll Hall of
Fame
Travis Snider Well deserved!
@Stabis Hop It is confusing bro, because even rap and pop singers get inducted.
I was just wondering. They deserve it. What amazing music to get lost in.
"Fascination Street," "Close to me," "Lullaby," "Pictures of you"...
Oh, Fascination Street!!! Have to go listen to it right now.
The cure “the forest “ best song ever!!
Live
The cure v nana somone the forest is a belter
A, not The
PREACH!
So good
All The Cure songs mentioned in the comments are gold.
I'll add - 'Let's Go To Bed' and 'The Walk'
Love The Walk.
Six Different Ways
Why can‘t i be you, love cats, lullaby, a forest, just like heaven. One of the best bands ever!
Lullaby is phenomenal
Absolutely agree
Why Can’t I Be You is my favorite. So amazing. 💜💜💜
“Pictures of You” is a great song too by The Cure 1989
He's done it.
The remix version has some nice bass and I used to play it on my system and it thumped.
Wow, this just took me places, damn. There was a time I was obsessed with The Cure
Me too.
Me too. This takes me back
A time! I guess I haven't grown out of it yet. 😉
I'm in my 20s and discovered The Cure along with 80s music in general. Now it's all i listen to.
Considering we live in a dark and regressive age for music, i'm glad i did.
Good for you. Try Marillion when you want something new/old to listen to. They still recording but best days of Marillion are with Fish as lead singer.
I did at your age and from then until now at 36 it's still my favorite era of music. I'm sure you've discovered a lot already, but if you need any recommendations feel free to message me 😊
Late to the party. But if you haven't explored some of the more 'punk' style 80's bands, you might like The Ramones (funny lyrics : Teenage Lobotomy), Romantics (Talking in my Sleep), Smithereens, The Clash and Blondie. And Greg Kihn was a favorite (Breakup Song), The Tubes (first concerts) and anything by a local band to me, the Violent Femmes. I was in high school and college in the 80's and even knew at the time that it was special and the music has really held up.
@@JenSell1626 I think my "late to the party" comment meant that I was replying kind of after the conversation died down. I used to think that I loved 80's music because it was the music of my youth. It's great to see that younger generations appreciate it too. One of my neighbors growing up was really into Elvis and 50's music. I still like that genre. It's great that so much is accessible now. I love the reaction videos and seeing people connect with good music.
Love Cats by The Cure is another great song from them.
One of my favorite bands OF ALL TIME. I finally got to see them in 2019 at ACL. Because I used to work concert and festival security for the company doing security there, I GOT TO WATCH THEM FROM THE SIDE STAGE! Videos all over my Facebook, I really should upload them to UA-cam. I was so close to them. Cried my eyes out, it was an absolute dream come true.
EDIT: I uploaded two of the videos that I took from that show to UA-cam. I use my channel to watch others, not create, I don't have the views or subscribers to make money off of it, so this is in no way some promotion I would benefit from. It's just there if anyone would like to see it.
Also, I think they're wonderful videos, they sound great, but filmed on my iPhone 6 and I was basically on another planet mentally. But any Cure fan would not only not be disappointed, they would genuinely understand why I ceased to function, lol. It was genuinely the best day of my entire life. Either I'm a weird person or that's just how much it meant to me, or both.
I was lucky enough to be around in the seventies got to see them for the first time in 79 in a small venue in London.happy to hear you finally got to see and enjoy them live they are a great band
They were so awesome at that show. They still sound perfect
Three videos now. Boys Don’t Cry, Friday I’m in Love and Close to Me.
A few other classic tunes by The Cure are "Let's Go to Bed", "Close to Me" and "In Between Days".
Throwing in a "yes, please!" on "In Between Days." Totally different sound, and so joyful!
I was also going to suggest “in between days”. Such a great song
"Just Like Heaven" and "Love Cats".
The drummer is Boris Williams. He's played on all my favorite Cure albums.
@Barely Taupe I think Lol moved to keyboards about a couple years before Boris came on. Andy Anderson I recall was drummer the year before.
@Barely Taupe this is a pretty good breakdown although I haven't checked its accuracy: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_Cure_band_members. I hope people worldwide get vaccinated asap (and the vaccines are effective enough) so we can see live shows again, in person! :)
Best cure drummer
@@graphix6529 he’s a true professional. However, Tolhurst limitations were critical to making Pornography a classic... he just had that flat, dead sound.
@@vsander09 i agree on that for sure and i love what andy anderson did for the top but all around boris brought the cure to the next level
Your open mindedness to all styles of music is admirable..I think it’s a great thing to be open to any style and artist..there are great artists everywhere..like this.
Wow, please do all of The Cure's greatest hits
Close to Me is one of my many favorites.
Yeah, there are very few reactions to The Cute it there.
This is one of my all time favorite bands!✌️😎
One of my all-time favourite bands! I've seen them tons of times in concert since the 80's.
The bass makes this song.
He has been with his wife Mary since they were teens 🖤🖤🖤
Listen to Just Like Heaven
"I didn't want that song to end." We know, man. We know.
"Pictures Of You" is everything 😍
My favorite song by The Cure!!
He's done it.
I love the cure😍
Congratulations, you have discovered pure gold that is the Cure. I'm almost envious that it's not me hearing their songs for the first time.
My favourite Cure song is Lullaby.
I second this .. LOVE Lullaby
The Cure has been making great music for decades now. Check out “Close to You,” “Friday I’m in Love,” “High,” and “A Letter to Elise.” Also, I would love for you to react to “Under the Milky Way” by The Church. It’s amazing and you’ll definitely want to hear it over and over again! 🌌
Under the Milky Way is a great song
@@jadecawdellsmith4009 I hope he’ll consider it! It’s so incredibly good.
@t c both are great for long drives, too!
I played this tape cassette practically into the ground. I still have it and play it. LOVE the Cure! So good. So many memories flood back in!
The cure was and is iconic. Too many great songs to list
Adele’s cover of this song brings me to tears - totally different vibe.
I'm a fan of the 311 cover
I feel like her cover could’ve been good, but she alters the most beautiful part of the song and that ruined it for me.
@@candym27 I’m definitely not. Just too generic.
Jay listen to the album by The Cure called “disintegration“. This song is on it as well as “pictures of you” but trust in that the entire album from start to finish is one of the best albums of all time and is definitely Robert Smith’s masterpiece of pop hits while remaining true to his sound and hardcore cure fans. it’s what made the cure the number one rock band in the world if not for but a brief period but none the less believe me they were when they went on tour playing when disintegration was released.
Listen to FASCINATION STREET and PURPLE HAZE by The Cure
In between days - great song
"If this song was ten minutes long I wouldn't even be mad" is a good prognosis for The Cure; they love their three-minute instrumental intros before the first verse even comes in..
The Cure was one of the band’s from my gothic punk days. The Damned sung a song called Love song. Totally different!
Have you heard any Iggy Pop songs? Passenger is one. Siouxsie And The Banshees sung Passenger too!
He should listen to Siouxsie's Cities In Dust!
Yep. We used to call them "alternative," but then everyone fell in love with them.
Iggy - Lust for Life 💜
Ladies and gentlemen... how do.
The Cure has always been the fabric of my life... many days when I was young and times were sad they were right there with me..Music is probably the only thing that has kept me from totally falling off the edge! Music will never let you down...🎶🎶🎶
The Cure have a great catalogue of songs to choose from, you can't go wrong. If you ever get to reacting to Siouxie and the Banshees, you might catch a glimpse of the Cure's Robert Smith on guitar.
Superb reaction to this 👍👏👏
OK, this is my favorite band of all time! So, 'Boys Don't Cry', 'Friday, I'm In Love', 'Close To Me', 'Love Cats', 'Let's Go To Bed', these will all knock you out.
Yes! Boys don't cry. It's word perfect. Like a poem. Not one word wasted. People always go on about love will tear us apart by joy division but to me boys don't cry absolutely tops it. It's so good. Even like how the chorus displays the emotion of him trying to surpress tears. That's how it sounds to me anyway. One of the best songs ever written in my opinion.
@@harryanderson5255 Couldn't agree more.
Seriously, pick anything off the Disintegration album. You can't go wrong.
It's the same album that Lovesong comes from. Others are: Plainsong, Pictures of You, Fascination Street, Prayers For Rain, The Same Deep Water As You.
Plainsong and Disintegration are my faves!
FACTS
Disintegration is legendary
Great album but their are better cure ones imo
I love the Kids in the Hall "crush your head" shot at 1:53
"Lullaby "Cure ....one od the best songs ever
I have been a fan of The Cure since I was 12 yrs old, I am now 47. I have seen them 18 times in concert. When Robert Smith sings you can feel the emotion in your soul, their music is very powerful.
I saw an interview on UA-cam with Robert saying he didnt know what to give Mary as a wedding present so he wrote this as a wedding present. Cheap and cheerful he said.
One of my favorites. If you want fun uptempo from them then you should react to "Why Can't I Be You ". I think Robert will shock you with his voice on that one.
It's hard to go wrong with hits by The Cure. I'm particularly fond of "Close To Me" and "In Between Days." I think you might enjoy "Fascination Street."
"The Caterpillar" and "The Lovecats" and "The Walk" are all classics, too. I think I keep about 25 Cure songs on my phone, and I should probably have a few more.
Definitely a classic! Great drum beat. Takes me back to the late 80s/early 90s for sure! (sorry, a little Valley Girl coming out there - I do live in the Valley though so I guess it's okay! LOL)
'FASCINATION STREET'! Trust me. Best simple and effective bass line of all times.
And if you wanna even play the version off of the "Mixed Up" album... I won't hate on it.
One of the best love songs literally! Of course, I had the DJ play this at my wedding dinner reception.
Robert Smith and the CURE are pure genius in the musical world.
You should watch "Love Cats" for a really different (but just as awesome) Cure vibe. Great video too.
Love the Cure. My favorite is “in between days”, another vibe though...
That bassline and those strings baby! My favourite Cure song. Love it
I absolutely love this song!!!!! Great reaction video yet again!👏👏👏❤️👍
Love the fact you listen to everything! Always going to love bands from the UK
Thanks for posting this. I LOVE THE CURE. So happy you are enjoying it. Your channel is wonderful.
Great reaction, love the cure. Have seen them play live twice, they never disappoint, one of my favourite songs.
Love, love the Cure! Great reaction to this iconic and quintessential 80’s new wave track! Instrumentals are crazy good!!
"LOVE THE CURE JAVON!!" so many good songs real mavericks in music, great reaction jayvee "MORE THE CURE" ; )
CURE!!! YES! Longtime fan and I am so pleased watching you enjoy them. Tight Tight complex instrumentals with great lyrics. It was always unanimous for a long drive to play The Cure! Excellent music spans generations! 😽🎶💘
This whole album is awesome! Mood music for sure! Thanks for the smiles! 😁💖
Aging goth here. Your reaction made my night, Jayvee. Lol, you rewinding two seconds in was everything. God, the memories I have snuggly swaddled within this song. Great job, my friend. Much love.
Now do “Boys Don't Cry”!!!
He looks like Edward Scissorhands. But he has a great voice.
Pretty sure Edward Scissorhands looks like Robert Smith.
That movie came out in '90, after Disintegration.
@@ianashmore9910 Yes, Johnny Depp/Tim Burton were using Robert Smith as inspiration for Edward's style
this song has so many layers to it. the drums, the bass line, the keyboard and the guitar. its crazy to think that Robert Smith's voice is what ties the whole thing together. without his unique voice this song does not work. so happy this song is universal and everyone can enjoy it equally.
The Cure are my favourite band! So happy to see you finally react to them! Yesss!!!
"Fly me to the moon" that little break in the lyrics is genius!
One of my fav songs ever. So beautiful. This band has so many good songs.
Great reaction. Please do more of the Cure!
I love The Cure! I listened mostly to Prince and R&B, but a friend introduced me to their music. Their songs are hypnotic. I used to play the Kiss Me, Kiss Me CD in the background 24/7. Just hearing that intro brought back old feelings and memories.
Ah this is totally up my alley. Grew up on the cure. A night like this is one of my faves of theirs.
Burn was done for the crow soundtrack & it's so good.
I love watching you appreciate the Cure!! They are amazing!
For sure
You have to do “Letter to Elise”. An amazing, emotional, perfectly written gem. It will touch your soul.
The Cure are amazing in concert!
One of my top 10!😍 Sooo cool to see you love it as much as I do!💜🤙🏽
Brilliant group, nice to see you discovering them...
Ooooo! One of my ultimate favorite songs. There is nothing like The Cure. This song is so bittersweet. Kind of breaks your heart💔💕
Great reaction... They have lots of hits.. This band was ear candy... Apart is one of my favs... and pictures of you...
Oh, I've been down this hole that is the Cure so many times, but you make me want to break out the Walkman and dig in my box of cassettes! Now I have to listen to Want and Burn and the walk and all the others! Great reaction by the way.
You are an 80s boy at heart...having watched many of your reactions.. you react your best to these older gems
One of the defining bands of my youth. Lullaby is one of my favourite songs of all time, please give it a listen if you haven’t already.
This is one of my all time favorite songs ♥️ and one of my favorite bands I love all their music
Soundtrack to my youth ♥️
One of my all time favourite songs. Thank you so much for listening to it :-)
Same...
One of my all time favorite songs!!!
My favorite band forever, and ever!!! Thanks for corvering it.
Your reaction videos are often so helpful - revisiting my favorites through fresh ears. Thank you.
If you continue your deep dive into the The Cure I'd like to see what you think of "The Lovecats" and "Close to Me."
Great reaction man 👍 That's The Cure and their unique sound, they're amazing.
PD: You should do "Lullaby" by them.
Ooohhhh they are so good. More please
My favorite band. Lots of different emotions go into their tunes!!
Classic. Love their melancholy and Robert's detached version of emotionality. Gotta go to album tracks next, The Same Deep Water As You is epic, Last Dance is another...
I saw them in concert back on this tour the smithereens opened up for them. Great concert. Good times back then 🤔
That had to be awesome to see the Smithereens open! 💜💜💜
I feel like you do, I love this song. I always play it a few times on a row.
One of my favorite bands when I was a teenager! Great song!
You've hit the nail on the head with a lot of The Cure songs - Sad songs but you cannot help groove with it!!
OMG! I really LOVE this song!!! 😍😍😍😍
Great idea ! I love Jayvee TV . !
Good to see you digging some Cure - you should check out Siouxsie and the Banshees too, a good one to start with is Spellbound... Saw you liked the Shakespear's Sister song, they have a lot to owe to Siouxsie! One of the greatest voices ever...
Amazing thing is he still sounds this good even today....love from fellow VA BCH
Fantastic song - really want to see The Cure one day 😊
A brilliant song from an equally brilliant band! My favorite Cure song is From The Edge of the Deep Green Sea...epic guitar work!
