Best band in the world!!!! MUCH LOVE for Robert Smith!!! So much emotion in his voice. Brilliant!!! Seen them 4 times and they never disappoint., and yes he loves his M..
The Cure are the band that take me back to my annual trips to Ireland in the late 80's to visit my Grandparents and Cousins. The Cure were massive in Ireland, our local town club always set aside a 10-15 minute set for The Cure during the night. The beautiful melodies were something the Irish appreciated.
Lovesong has been covered by many. Lovesong is a prime example of “a song that should never be covered”. And can we give a shoutout to that wicked bass!
Disintergration is one of my favorite albums across the musical genre table hands down. The Cure encompasses so much raw emotion and channels so much great musical depth that it's poetry in motion that stands the test of time.
The Cure is amazing. Especially live, they’re incredible even to this day. I have seen them every time they come to the Bay Area in California. I have traveled to Los Ángeles and Mexico City for them. Yeah you could say I’m a fan. My favorite band in the entire world. And I will travel the world to see them if I’m able to 💕
My first girlfriend crush back in 1989 got me interested in the Cure and I have been a fan ever since and I saw them live in Concert. One of the best concerts I have ever been to.
I absolutely love The Cure! I think that maybe next you should check out "Pictures of You" and "Lullaby". I know there aren't a lot of their official videos on UA-cam for some reason, but those two are and you should watch them ☺
Has she done "Close to Me" yet? And if she's making her way through the Cure, she should finish with listening to the acoustic versions they recorded a while ago.
Great group even better song. Several times as a worship team at church we have done this song in our worship service. We sing it to God and it makes sense because we love him more than anything.
I love you for appreciating this music. I've been Gothic for over 20 years and to see someone outside our circle appreciate it, I love that. Thank you.
This one actually went to #2 on Billboard back in 1989! A rare glimmer of light in what was otherwise arguably one of the most dismal periods in pop history. Just take a look at some of the songs that made it to the top that year: "When I'm with You" by Sheriff, "When I See You Smile" by Bad English, anyone?! WTF?!
I Love The Cure... They have so much amazing music and I’m so glad to see you cover their music. Yes, they blew up in the 80’s and I didn’t discover them myself till 1991 I think. It’s when I discovered The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Janes Addiction, and The Cure. In the under ground clubs or some called Back Beat. Long over due, they were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame finally in 2019. I can’t believe it took so long for them to achieve such an honor. This song is also covered by Adele and there is a live version of her singing it and it’s amazing, search it on here... I was able to see them live finally 2018 in Miami. They played all their smash tunes and were flawless and sounded so freaking amazing. However, they didn’t preform this song which I was disappointed slightly. Not sure why they didn’t sing this song. But the concert was really great. I also suggest you listen to more of their stuff, it’s a total rabbit hole....xoxoxo
Disintergration was my True introduction to The Cure apart from their radio friendly singles that I grew up on listening to as a kid. That's their magnum opus album .
Great review. Please check out their early gloomy songs such as Charlotte Sometimes and A Forest. And don’t forget to listen to the whole Disintegration album. Actually I would love a review of that entire album because I feel (and many with me) it’s one of the best records ever recorded by a band.
I think i melted that cd on repeat. God if only i was young again, it was so amazing. Seen the at the palace of auburn hills. It was recorded for a laser disc album. Frigging awesome.
Definitely, the show they did at the opera house last year is well worth checking out. they played the whole album and some other rare tracks in its entirety
One of my favorite bands of all time! I would love to see you react to some of their heavier stuff like 100 Years, the Kiss, Cut, the Hanging Garden, etc.
met a fellow musician and he spoke of how he visited robert smith and mary at their home. he said how they were the sweetest couple. and great hosts!! the cure are in my tops of favorite bands. "head on the door" has been a fave lately. check that out india or 'disintegration'. each record is different from the last. depends on one's mood. a genius. and i don't say that often. a top 5 favorite songwriter. and just a great and brilliant band overall. loved this video by the way. over and out!!
This might be my favorite Cure song. Two years ago I heard this song playing in the background at Walgreens like it was so much elevator music. Aside from slight feelings about getting old -- the music of my youth is now elevator music?!?!? -- it confirmed for me my estimations of the timelessness of the song.
Saw them in concert in 2000 the best show hands down. Such great poetry in his words. Check out Just like Heaven as well. Also the Smiths -There is a light that never goes out.
Damn, I've loved the cure and listened to this song a thousand times and half way in you've got it! Super cool! The cure is so great for me I either really love songs or really don't with them. They have like 30 gems though which is great for any band. 😁
I was in kindergarten when this song came out and it was my favorite song. I used to sit in front of the TV and wait for this video on MTV. Robert Smith was my first crush because of this video. I was a strange kid.
India, I really enjoy listening in on and watching your musical journey. This is one of my favorite Cure songs. I don't remember your doing a lot of American Country music, and I thought I maght suggest a few of my favorites for you to try. They are "Lady Lay Down" by John Conlee as well as two of his other greats: "Miss Emily's Picture" and "Friday Night Blues. "Common Man" by John Conlee is a great song, too. Thank youu for sharing your time and good heart with us. Peace!
Always loved this song. Love of my life turned me on to this band in the late 80's early 90's not sure where she is now but hope she is doing well and will always miss her.
I would love to see and hear her reaction to the extended version of "Why Can't I Be You" by The Cure. The opening instrumental (dude... d'at bass d'oh!) that seems to go on forever... AND Robert Smith's whimsical vocals seriously showcase throughout this track AND most from the Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me album/LP. And tracks called "Apart", "From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea", "Trust", and "A Letter To Elise" from their Wish album/LP. I merely want to see how she would react and would she be able to keep a straight face through each track listening either simultaneously or indivdiually? ... Pornography + Disintergration + Wish are my trinity of The Cure's LP/album
Thanks for appreciating my favourite band. "Disintegration" was their magnum opus and one of the best albums of the 1980s. I recommend you listen to "Inbetween Days", a great song.
Disintegration was probably the first truly "alternative " music album to sell in the millions, definately the first "goth" album to achieve that. In fact i think the cure are to this day the only goth band to achieve sales in the millions, the follow up did the same but charted higher (sold less though) but was more divisive among fans because of the "pop" nature of many of the tracks. Disintegration is one of my favourite albums ever, Lovesong is one of the shorter tracks, most hit or surpass the 7 minute mark
There is just something about The Cure. Their sound. Its hauntingly unique. Mysterious. Part of their charm. **I must add how dissatisfied I was at Adele's remake of this song. She really destroyed it in a bad way. Personally I thought it was horrible.

Robert Smith and his wife Mary has been together since they were 14 years old and they’re still married today ❤️
Robert Smith once described himself as a "professional depressionist". I think it's a fitting title for him.
Now THAT'S a job I'm qualified 4!😂
50 years together and 35 married. This was his wedding gift to her.

What a classic song! I highly recommend anything they've put out. Smith is such a great lyrisist!
Robert is also great musician and guitarist. Unfortunately still underrated.
I absolutely love The Cure! I think that maybe next you should check out "Pictures of You" and "Lullaby". I know there aren't a lot of their official videos on UA-cam for some reason, but those two are and you should watch them ☺
The Cure have the knack of catchy songs with great fun and depth
More Cure please! Listen to "Friday, I'm in Love," "Shake Dog Shake," "Boys Don't Cry."

I adore the Cure (my second favourite band) and this song is incredible in just how simple and heartfelt the sentiment expressed is in it.
