Mate I went from a JB+ to a stage 1 ECU remap.... its so so so so much better after being remapped. 431hp and so much more oomph all the way through the rev range
Tim Williams I got a 240i with a blue spark tuning box. Wonder if there is a difference between the two 🤷🏻♂️
Ah yes, so I’ve heard...I deffo think the car handle a stage 1 with no issues 🙏🏽

These JB+ are awesome little tuning boxes I had one for my F56 cooper S before I got it mapped and it made a huge difference over the stock power made it so much more fun to drive!! Best tuning boxes about. Only payed £160 for it new as well can’t go wrong.

You're better off with a remap, they deliver power so much smoother. JB+ with Michelin PSS in the wet is a proper handful.

I just got the TDI tuning box and pretty impressive! Very noticeable power increase

Cheers matey, I was overly surprised given the fact that I know my car inside out as you would know, it becomes a part of you...for a split second (and everytime boost came on I didn’t feel like it was the same car 😆

Tim Williams For sure. It’s funny isn’t it.. the M140i’s are so rapid stock, it makes you wonder what they’d be like with an extra little poke. Clearly it had a profound effect! It’s still painful when walking but just keeping going with it man, and hopefully it will get better with time. Cheers bro 😁😁
Great video man! I’ve got the same setup on mine, JB+, ITG panel filter and Remus.I think there is more boost intake noise too. Have you checked the adjustment screw inside the box? You can open it up and adjust it, might not even be turned to the max....

Tim Williams I think they are preset to around 3.5 psi, you can move the little screw inside up to an additional 5 psi 😎
Did you get any codes when adjusted to max?

Hey there thanks for the awesome video! I heard that Burger Motorsports will discount the 200 USD that the jb+ costs from the jb4 if you decide to upgrade! My dad is going to give me his 2015 320i xdrive and being a teen I am a bit tight on money... would you say the jb+ is worth the 200 USD on a stock 320i?

What’s your opinions on the adaptive vs passive set up on the m140s ?
Adaptive feels very softer on day to day driving in comfort but very similar to the passive when placed in sports modes...
I'd say for track use they deffo would require uprading to some blistein's :)

Mg flasher + xhp sgGe 3 gearbox map. They have some of the fastest stage 2 OTS maps out there. Quicker than bm3 + mhd

Well even if you don’t go for the Mhd tune definitely look into the xHP transmission tune , but they both work together flawlessly with options in the Mhd app to tune the gearbox with the xHP so I highly recommend you get both , stage 1,2&3 with xHP transmission tune , not sure how the bm3 will work with the xHP?? Mhd& xHP are both really easy to use, check out Williams performance for the Mhd WiFi OBD2 Adapter f/g series, it’s the Black one & it’s really really fast , he will get it to you very quickly to , the rest is just done on the internet, so easy 👍🏼

I wonder how it actually boosts the power without the mod of the cpu. Also I'm curious how safe to the engine it is in the long run. Plus I know BMW dealers can now see some modifications when they connect their pc to the car.
Who cares? People on this earth do crazy things everyday, just turn on the news. You really think anyone cares about this? Stop being a grandma. The point of this video is power boost. It's not about the BMW dealership.
There's tons of videos explaining what they do, Burgermotorsports themselves have one.
I've been running a 2nd hand box on my M140i for about a year now, with zero issues.
The difference truly is amazing.
For anyone thinking about getting one; I'd say do you research on 'Off the shelf maps' and look into exactly what you are getting.
I don't believe JB4 to be the Boogy man of engine failure as some like to protest.
For your money those jb+ are quality like deffo does the job 👏🏼

I've seen 140s with Bluespark end up in limp mode tho, that seems to be its only con
Fuck tuning boxes, that just fool a couple of sensors and turn the boost up.
Get a proper remap, on an accurate dyno, from a BMW tuning specialist.
I took mine to a brilliant place, the car runs perfectly, idles perfectly, and has 411bph/576nm with everything done safely from fuelling, intake temps, etc.....
Some people can't afford to do it all at once bro....i dont see nothing wrong with gettn what you can for the time being ...JB+....enjoying it for what it is and when the monies are right.going FBO...i plan on doing this to my 2013....535i xdrive....something...even if its a little bit and you can feel it....is waaaay better than nothing at all and just talking.....IM GRATEFUL

A tuning box costs the same amount of money as a custom tune on a dyno.
the ONLY advantage is that you can remove it yourself if the car is still under warranty so when it goes back for a recall the car is back to standard again.
A custom tune is always going to be much better, much safer, and doesn't cost any more.
@@DjNikGnashers Nik, does a custom tune affect servicing or MOT at all? It doesn’t get reverted when going for these? (Coming from an absolute noob lol)
@@nallanw4329 Hi, no a remap alone will not affect anything, apart from a warranty if your car is nearly new and still in warranty.
Not long after I posted that comment, I had a 200 cell cat fitted, and another remap, and my car made 455bhp/634nm. It drove just like it always did, no problems at all, no issues, nothing changed for my daily driving except it was now starting to become a wild beast, power-wise.
The first MOT I had after the sports cat was fitted, it just scraped through on emissions, but a few months ago for it's second MOT, it failed on emissions (well it would have done, I'm lucky to have worked in the motor trade for many years, and know a friendly MOT tester). Apparently most sports cats are like that, ok for a year or so then don't really do the job of catching the hydrocarbons.
It was a top quality Wagner brand cat too !
