Hi Peter, thanks for another very informative ,enjoyable and interesting video I did see that about standard radius points a being 1st I thought they were 2nd radius as well can’t remember where I seen it either cheers Al
Excellent Peter great bit of dragging. I've pre ordered the 37 euro phoenix from accurascale do something similar, as I'd seen you do it a few months ago. Thanks for sharing cheers for now Andy
Hi Andy, yes got one on order to add to the fleet as well. I could not see how you can run two different types of trains to run together to make a drag. A working EMU or DMU are to expensive if there's nothing wrong with them to subject them to try and put together with a loco. I guess that's why although it happens out on the lines no one thought of modelling it. At my modelling club they're going to form a drag now for the exhibition layout but that features GbRF locos doing the work. Good luck with your effort hope it goes well Cheers Peter
Really enjoyed that Peter 👍 when I built my layout I wished I hadn’t put the station in because like you say I can only fit short trains But we live and learn. Thanks for sharing Andy
Hi Andy, must say I think your station don't look to small, I would be happy with that mate. You had the great idea of coming up with both the station and the TMD so get the best running form both scenarios, which is great. All the best Peter
@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 Hi Peter thanks for that 👍 the one platform I can get a loco and four coaches so I suppose it ok for a class 220 or 221. Regards Andy
Hi Peter `mind the gap`, what gap (lol). I have just started to change to Hunt couplings on my coaching stock and I must agree it is so easy to remove a coach from the rail, many thanks for sharing take care regards Barry...
Fairly new to the UA-cam stuff. Enjoying catching up on your footage. I think the drags look great - certainly electric units are more likely to be dragged over non-electrified lines, but I think it’s conceivable any unit could be. That Lima 156 unit looks very convincing; there’s a lot of high quality models around these days, but I think Lima did a pretty good job in their time.
Oxford Warwells don't like the train set standard points, they go one way but derail on the return/reverse curve, even with large D train set couplings. There's a triangle thing in the couplings that I gave a dose of file to to get them to snake through the train set points.
Hi Peter great work with the 158s and 156 id love to have a go at that some time ive got a hornby pendolino that i was toying with removing the motor and seeing if i could attach a coupler for a thunderbird loco to pull it, i was also confused by realtracks description of the 156 not being able to run on 1st radius and then classing set track points as 1st radius, i presume it is the close coupling, ive got one on order so maybe restricted to just using it on the outer track as my inner track is all set track points in the fiddle yard, great video as ever, thanks for shaing. Tom
Hi Tom, I think you will be able to run the new 156 across the points just not turning out on them. My chairman at the model club has turned a Virgin Pendolino into a drag I had to put a working end of train lamp on it for him. Not sure what he did with the front of the train so it could couple up to the loco. Anyway enjoy the 156 when it comes :0 All the best Peter
Lovely video. Class 156's have never been dragged by 37's. They are virtually all still in service. Even the pacers were driven to the scrappers under their own power. The drags are emu stock (recently class 321/455/507/508).
Thank for the info, have no idea what happens out there as you can see :). Very boring being in SE London regards different type of trains, just endless rakes of South Eastern commuter trains Thanks Peter
@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 when a sprinter breaks down, they seem to cart them around the country to be repaired on lorries. I don't get the economics of doing that. Its your layout, and you are creating impression. Its rule one On model railways. I enjoy lots of inaccuracies on my layout!
@@martinbrain3372 Hi Martin, I know we can use the 'rule one' rule and the worst example I ever saw of that was running the FlyingScots man pulling a rake of ballast wagons :)
Love the layout, one question, where did you get the dellner coupling for the front of 37884? I've seen this loco many times and I think it would make mine look good with the dellner down like I've seen it
Well, after the calendar stuff with Allan last year... I opened this video VERY carefully. lol Great information and beautiful trains, Peter. You really make them work and work well on the layout. The layout is brilliant and you know how to angle the camera to really highlight the stock as it rolls, short or long, but the drags are great!
Ha ha ha, Anthony, yes I was being a bit naughty coming up with that headline :) Thanks so much for your lovely comments Hope to catch you on line soon. All the best Peter
Hi Neil and thanks. The coupler is a 3d printed item. Sorry, I can't for the life of me remember who made it, I will see if I find it and get back and let you know on here
Hi Peter, it has been around 30 deg here in Toronto but that is normal gif July/August here. Of course the house is air conditioned and my layout is in the basement I don’t have any issues with expansion/contraction. We do have T/Storms here often accompanied by hail. My layout isn’t big either but I try to make it look good Cheers
Great running session trains looking very good some clever ideas keep up the good work 👍 thanks for sharing
Thank you Clive

Hi Barry yes made it so easy for me as with a small layout, I have no room to store rakes of wagons so the magnets work wonders :)
