You know I'm loving that purple floral dress...soooo pretty, that came out really nice. The blue top fabric is beautiful, a sort of animal print, your adjustments look fantastic, love the detail in the back. I love seeing it all - LOL hauls, etc.
Thank you Natieda! I really enjoyed making the dress. It is probably one of my fave 2019 makes! 😁
Would love a tutorial on sewing the plackets. I bought the pattern but having a hard time understanding sewing the plackets. But I've also never sewed a placket so maybe I'll get it yet...
I'll see what I can do! Hopefully, I can squeeze one in soon. 😁 Thanks for your interest!
Beautiful dress! Great work
Thank you!
Lovely makes Tea!.
I have that dress pattern! Yours is so pretty. Much prettier than the photo dress! Now I have to make this!! Pretty fabric too!
Thank you! It really is a fun pattern to make! I really enjoyed it! I'm sure you will too!
Nice
More tutorials in 2020 from you Tea would be awesome!! 🙌🏽😉
I'm working on that! 😁 Thank you my friend!
Love the dress and the fabric. I may have to get this pattern.
It's a great pattern!
You look so pretty in that color and the print is beautiful. Found your channel the other day, great job, keep them coming.
Thank you do much! Welcome to the channel Lisa!
That's a beautiful purple dress. I've been looking for plus size patterns everywhere that have that same exact collar and neckline, but not having much success. I'm not sure what this neckline is called, or if it even has a specific name. I'd love to make a linen shirt without having to do a ton of alterations. It's been a while since I've sewed.
Hi! Thanks for watching. I don’t think this pattern has a plus size option. I’m sorry you aren’t finding any patterns. I’ll be in the lookout and let you know if I find something.
I just bought 8384 today. It looks great on you and the fabric is so pretty! I plan to do the top version. Thanks for the review!
Thank you so much! I hope you have fun with it! It's a great pattern. Please let me know how it turns out for you. 😁
Your dress is beautiful. I love Lady McElroy fabrics!
Thank you!
Your dress is so pretty!
Thank you!
I know that this was from a year ago, but do you remember at all if you lengthened the bodice? Your dress looks wonderful 😍
Hi Cathy! I did not shorten or lengthen the bodice. If memory serves me, I think the only thing I did was shorten the skirt and maybe a bicep adjustment. I'll have to go back and look at my notes. But I'm certain I didn't lengthen the bodice. That's not an adjustment I normally have to do.
@@crumpetsteaandsewing thank you so much for getting back to me. I'm short, 5 ft, and working on a muslin to see how it fits. I don't have the issues with the arms, but seems my waist is below my bust. I'll see how it goes, happy Sewing
I am loving both yours makes, The Blue Blouse is Beautiful 😊 where did you purchase that fabric?
I bought that blue leopard print from Joann fabrics years ago, and it was in clearance. So I doubt they have amymore. It's heavenly! Right?
CRUMPETS, TEA, & SEWING -It sure is...
Love your makes! I'm looking for a good dress form. Where did you purchase yours? Thanks!
Hi Audrey! I purchased my dress form from Amazon years ago. They are not cheap. But they are very helpful.
Hi Beautiful Tea...I bought this pattern and attempt to make it twice and still failed. Though I really like this pattern and it looks great on you. Is it possible for you to make a video of a sew along tutorial for us. I will really be great. I wanted to make a mother and daughter outfits for us but just need some help from you. Hope I am not bothering you too much. Thanks sweetie...xoxxoxox
Hi Suzy! I'm sorry you're having such difficulty sewing this pattern. It's such a beautiful pattern. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to do a sewing tutorial this month. Remind me next month and we can revisit this idea! Blessings!
@@crumpetsteaandsewing Hi Tea..thank you so much for your reply. Well there is hope…will surely remind you next month. It’s my birthday month too😜xoxoxo
I have a question. I've been a quilter and haven't sewn clothing since 1975, and I am making this dress. The pattern pieces tell you to cut 4 of pattern item number 6, which is "skirt side front and side back" and it says "Cut four". However, when sewing the pieces together the directions are NOT clear if I am supposed to sew 2 number 6's on each side, which is what I did (otherwise, why did it tell me to cut four?). So now I am trying to attach the skirt to the bodice and the skirt is really HUGE. If I was only supposed to sew ONE number 6 side panel, why does it say to cut four? So here's my question: Was I supposed to sew two number 6es per side or just one?
Hi Susan! Welcome back to the world of sewing! Great questions! Piece #6 is cut 4 times. Two pieces are for the side front and the remainder 2 pieces are for the side back. So think of it this way...
After cutting the front panel on fold, open the fabric out with the right side facing up. Then take two of pattern piece 6 (your side front) and attach them to the front skirt pieces (the paneled skirt on fold), one on the left and one on the right. You will do the same thing for the back skirt (on fold).
So to sum it up....
Two pieces of pattern piece 6 will be sewed to the front skirt panel and the remainder of the two pieces will be sewed to the back skirt panel. When you're done, you should have a total of 6 panel pieces on your finished skirt.
As for why the skirt is so big.... it is elasticized in the back.
I really hope this helps. But if not, please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Blessings!
Thank you for your review! would this dress work well with a cotton? Would a knit work?
This will work well with a cotton woven fabric. I wouldn't recommend a knit though.
