    When you’re working with folk patterns that are vintage, the fabric recommendation is vintage also. I was there in the 70s and I’m here in the 2023.

    When you are reading the measurements for what you want in fit the newer patterns now have a circle at the best waist and hip that has the actual measurement of the finish garment. This is much more accurate than the designer deciding how much is they think you should have if your body measures this or this

      Yes, I appreciate the measurements on the pattern rather than the package too Susan.

    I love the Mimi g knit dress as well that neck line makes the dress...unfortunately...being 70...I don’t like that much of my chest showing... maybe I could do a turtle neck..hehe. I love all your pattern choices

      Hi Kathy, love your feedback and your perspective. I too have limitations on some styles as I get older. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Karen, nice pattern Haul.☺ I'm especially attracted to the jumper patterns. I'm very fond of the vintage remake, and the one that has an overlap on one side. Thanks for sharing and HAPPY SEWING!

    Yes, love your pattern choices. I made 2 of Simplicity 9701 today. Such an easy sew. Also have the linen suit, can’t wait to see your makes.

    I have the V1645 jumpsuit on my list also so I am very interested to see yours and hear your comments on the make. I am thinking to widen the legs for a more casual look and using linen/rayon mix to get a nice drape. Look forward to seeing what fabric you use. Love your videos, thankyou for sharing.

      Kerrie,, I am anxious to start as well. Great idea to widen widen the legs. I will test it with a sateen and probably try a linen once I have a good handle on the pattern.

    Love all your pattern choices. I think that my style is similar to yours as I love dresses on other people but I never feel comfortable when I'm wearing a dress. I'm much more comfortable in separates and need to almost force myself to wear a dress. I've bought quite a number of dress patterns to try but I need to make a waist adjustment and haven't yet been brave enough to venture down that path. It's such a shame that your beautiful dress ripped. I've recently bought that pattern too. Have a wonderful week.

      Hey Carlene, I know it can be overwhelming with regards to dresses sometimes but we have a struggle that will be overcome at some point. Awesome on your selections, happy sewing and thanks for watching.

    New to your channel. Having trouble seeing details on pattern because it isn't held steady enough or forward facing long enough and line drawings blown out and not up long enough. Maybe if closer to camera or inset photo? Thanks for your video

    How are you determining your pattern size by looking at the finish measurement? You shouldn’t be using so many different sizes in one pattern line. Each design has a different amount of ease. If you use the same ease measurement on each pattern the look will be different than what the designer originally had in mind.

    • @cookeka
      @cookeka  Рік тому

      Yes, I use the finished measurement as my guide and do end up with the right fit. I have a separate pattern for each size I cut. The pattern at 1.99 makes more sense that way.
