    First and foremost, great job. Your video is very detailed and to the point. I recently acquired a pilot and there is nothing out there as far instructional videos like yours. Although is a bid different machine, your video has help me on getting thing's done on mine. Good job

    Man. I hope you're still around. I looked in the description and found a blog entry but I'm not sure where you bought all this stuff.
    I have one of these and it's getting to the point that it needs totally rebuilt. I love everything you did here and would really appreciate a build list or suggestions for where to buy these parts.
    Aftershock motorsports has some of the stuff but I'd really like to drop in some new seats and a sparco harness. They don't have that stuff.
    Thanks for uploading this, anyway. Great job.

      A lot of it came from Amazon. Sorry the website I did my build thread on is not longer around but if you have questions maybe I can answer them!

      @@trailblogger dude, I'm relieved you even replied to this message lol. I'm on the forums right now. I'll send you a DM on there. I'm brand new and have a bunch of questions.
      I was going to get some stuff through AfterShock but the prices are insane. I only want to buy stuff there I can't get elsewhere.
      The guy wants hundreds of dollars for U joints. 2k for long travel suspension, but only for the front.
      His website seems like a great start for a build list and getting bolt ons you know will fit but the prices...omg.

      Is the forum back online? I'll have to check it out. My thread was called the good the bad and the fl350 I bought off craigslist

      My rear shocks were like 1300 for the pair if I remember right. I never upgraded the front end geometry just threw some new pogo stick style shocks ok and sent it.

      @@trailblogger I just checked, it won't send me an activation email. So maybe not. I got confused because one is PilotOdyssey and the other is OdysseyPilot. Whoops. I can definitely see the thread but it doesn't look like the video and the list match up exactly.

    Great project and awesome work. I've wanted to get a FL350, because it was one of my boyhood dream toys. Being 6'-4" and 250 lbs now, I doubt I'd be able to fit in one. Just out of curiosity, how big/tall are you? You look pretty cramped in that thing!

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  10 років тому +1

      It was a pretty tight fit. I am 6'-2" 200 lbs. I added 2 inches of foam to the original seat so I would sit up and forward a little more. I have seen guys your size in it before and they were a little cramped but managed just fine.

    I'm curious as to what you paid for it. I just bought one and I think I got a pretty good deal considering has all original parts except from the head which was a factory recall.

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  8 років тому +1

      I paid $1500 cash and put about another $2000 in it but most of that was the suspension and new tires etc Only about $400-500 went into the motor. All together the project cost around $3500 but I think I could have got it running again for about $2000 if I went with the bare minimum.

    @Jonesm4n117 10 років тому

    I know this is going to sound odd, but I have Aton of questions about that machine. Does it have gears? If so, clutch? And how do you shift? What's the difference between a Honda pilot and an this? I know I ask too many questions I had more but google answered them lol. Btw looks great!:)

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  10 років тому +2

      The FL350 has one forward gear and the clutch is automatic much like a snowmobile. If you want to read about the specific clutch I used in this project checkout the Comet 94C Duster Clutch. The shifter is to the right of the driver by your right hip, you pull out on it and push forward for forward gear and pull back for reverse. Once it is in gear and you are moving there is no shifting required. The thumb throttle is on the steering wheel along with the brake handles. The Honda Pilot came out after the Odyssey and is basically the same thing but with a 400cc liquid cooled engine instead of the 350cc air cooled engine like this one. Honda first built a Honda Odyssey FL250 in the late 70s then upgraded to the Odyssey FL350 in 85. I think the Honda Pilot FL400 was made in late 80s. The FL250 had no electric start, no reverse gear, and no suspension from the factory but a lot of people would modify them to add the electric start and suspension. When the FL350 (Odyssey) came out in 85 it was a big upgrade but they were also much more expensive than the earlier FL250 as with the FL400 (Pilot) so not as many were sold as many people could not afford them so Honda stoppped making them. Today you can find a lot of FL250s for sale but the FL350s and FL400s are a little harder to come by in good condition. Hope that answers your questions and thanks btw!
