I just bought the 2025 HRV LX and it's been great. Coming from a 2020 Civic SI - I needed an upgrade in storage and something better for long journeys. I don't tow anything, barely used my sunroof I had on my Civic or even 2016 CR-V Touring. I am very pleased with the purchase!
@@JohnAMcCreary not trying to start an argument or be a dick but you sound like the exact buyer I described in my post earlier. I’m guessing you bought it simply because it’s a Honda and didn’t even bother seriously looking at other options?
First time I saw the HR-V from a distance, I thought I was looking at a Porsche... And I'm a Porsche aficionado. Shocked, to say the least, when I saw the Honda badge. I hope I don't lose my "car guy" cred admitting this. It may be underpowered, but in the looks dept, the HR-V is a hit in my book.
Not sure why Honda does not offer the 2.0 Hybrid engine that's in the Accord & CRV and now Civic..I think it would be a great option to have the same hybrid system in 4 different sizes.
I got it because it looks different from the rest models Passport CRV Pilot. I really hope Honda keeps the HRV different from all others just like the mustang does with Ford 👍 I love my 23 HRV Sport (inspiration to the URUS)
If the Sport offered a sunroof, I do t think they’d sell too many EX-L’s. That’s what holding me back from even looking at the Sport. I’ll wait for the hybrid, I have a 2018 HR-V and right now, not that big of a difference to update to a new one.
Looks are subjective. I like the HR-V Sport FWD in Urban Grey Pearl with the black exterior emblems. I already know what OEM accessoties and aftermarket items I plan to add to customize it, including something to improve the acceleration without altering the vehicle.
If they replace the EX-L with a Sport Touring trim using the drivetrain from the Sport Touring trims in the 2025 Civic, you get 200 HP & 232 ft/lbs torque, add the leather seats and 9" infotainment screen with the Bose Stereo and it would be perfect for what I would want.
@curiosityredpill7030 Every option added may not seem to cost much for one vehicle, but when you are talking about tens of thousands of vehicles, several items will raise the production cost much higher. People say lots of other cars have other options, but they may not have the quality build, reliability and longevity at the same price point. The new Nissan Sentra SR is really nice with the premium package, but is only 140 hp for a 2.0L engine, and the Jatco CVT reliability is questionable. And the price is about what is expected for the 2025 Civic Sport Hybrid with much more quality, power and performance.
Honda releases the hybrid Civic in the US before the hybrid HR-V wasting peoples time. The American market wants more hybrid crossovers and not sedans.
Do a search for the 2025 Aussie version of the hrv, it's so much better. USA used to receive the 'better' of everything.. no longer the case these days
I just don't understand why so many car manufacturers have killed fog lights. They round off the front end perfectly no matter the implementation. German automakers are the worst offenders of this. The claim is that they are 'no longer needed', but integrated fog lights are just not the same. But, let's say that they were just as effective, since when do automakers care about style over substance when they include fake air dams, exhaust tips, dummy vents and so on? Fog lights create a certain aesthetic and removing them will always make the front end look incomplete with empty holes even when filled with cladding. This is clearly just a cost-saving measure and most cars or and especially SUVs that just have those 'air vents' in the front give that 'the owner declined the upgraded light package' look from back in the day.
I'ave been asking for a shorter wheelbase Civic since I started racing my 2017 LX Sedan with 6MT. Suck that it's 400400l heavier then my 2700 Civic Sedan Sith Identical power train.
TOO SLOW UPON MERGING IN TRAFFIC AND ON FREEWAY. For the same money you can get a Subaru Crosstrek with a 2.5 and awd and better mileage It's a no brainer
CVT - Continuously Variable Transmission. Instead of having gears like a traditional automatic, a CVT works by essentially allowing for a constantly adapting "gear ratio" which keeps a vehicle in the powerband while also potentially improving fuel economy. They're good units, albeit not very exciting ways to deliver power from an engine to the driven wheels.
Such a dud of a vehicle. Virtually every other vehicle in this category is a better vehicle now. Anyone that buys it is literally just buying it because it says Honda on it.
Not true although I'm a Honda Fan Boy going back 4 decades. The HR-V interior is much better than others. The dashboard layout controls quality. Honda didn't cheap out on that part. The interior space in dimension also good for its size. Exterior looks are good. My sister says it's good she also has higher mileage 2007 Ridgeline. So about 2 months with HR-V and sister has put almost 4,000 miles on it. It had 30 miles on it when we bought it. I drove it 80miles home. So the rest has been her mileage. It's seen highway with current mileage near 4,000 miles in almost 2 months. No real complaints from sister and she drives faster than I do.
@@jdmoney1000 I did. The CVT and lack of power put me to sleep. I drove a CX-30 back to back (non turbo to keep it apples to apples) and it was light years better. Way more power, smooth 6-speed automatic and nicer interior in every metric. Exterior styling is subjective but I found the styling on the Mazda to be clean and elegant whereas the HR-V is outright fugly, especially the front end.
HR-V Sport hands down for me. FWD, and just like this one with the black exterior emblems and front and rear lower number guards and protect from scrapes and makes the Sport look more beefy. Most of the other cosmetic optional add ones, including the gawdy big HPD decal makes the HR-V look gawdy and awful.
I have a friend who owns the sport. Regarding power he said around town it is fine and can keep up with traffic. But he did say if you are merging into interstate traffic going 60-70 mph, you better time it just right because off the line, it is a dog and borderline dangerous!! Why Honda ?!?!

I still think the HR-V (known as ZR-V outside North America) needs the 181 bhp hybrid drivetrain, just like what Toyota did with the Corolla Cross.
Or the accord hybrid drive train
Yes! This thing is slow and weak. Make it 0-60 in 7 seconds at least.
7 secs is actually plenty. No need for faster speed but 11 secs is too slow in real world scenarios.
Some people don’t need the highest performance but want a non hybrid standard port injection engine.

What is mileage. In 100 kilometers????
If you need Blind Spot Information System (BSI) with Cross Traffic Monitor* you must get the Sport
The EX-L has a sunroof, bigger screen and leather seats that is a big deal lol
If the sport had the sunroof I wouldn't be hesitating on it
Good review. No BS and four minutes 👍
This vehicle seems a bit pricey at all levels. Honda quality isn’t inexpensive.
Am I missing something? The safety features aren't the same, as I test drove an LX and it doesn't have the blindspot detection.
I am looking but I am not certain I want the same 1997 horsepower and gas mileage 30 years later.

My wife just bought a blacked out 2025 hrv sport and it's a good mix of luxury and sport style of car plus it's a Honda can it get any better?😊
Budget porche 😮
Just got my 2025 HRV Sport and feeling SPOILED. What a car!
They need to give it more HP

Do any of these models have a power lift gate and what is the ground clearance?
In Brazil it is called ZR-V. We do have a HR-V but is a different one.
ZR-Z size is smaller look it up
This thing needs a turbo 4, 6-8 speed auto trans or manual option...at least 220hp /215 torque.

Yeah the sport is much better than the base model because the base model doesnt have any controls on the passengers side door I believe.
Sports needs leather interior ! they fuked on this one !

With HR-V switching to new Civic platform not possible.
Honda ruined the HRV in my opinion, it's HUGE now 😞
Two words for it. No power.
And it’s made in Mexico 🤔.
