Thank you. I’m installing the windows this weekend. Very helpful. Great to see where you are learning. So many polished videos, good to see a normal bloke learning as your doing it: pilot holes thru then cut from the outside, cutting the mastic tube etc etc.
You hope it will stop from rusting in the future. I've removed trim from the vivaro we've just bought (where you enter the rear section through the sliding door), yep, as you can guess, A LOT OF RUST. The trim will not necessarily stop rust. Rust treat it well !!!!
cutting out the shapes was tricky because your supposed to use a nibbler , you can get one for £20 , you cut the beam out with the angle grinder then its a straight run all the way round in one go bit messye as you get steel chips everywhere but its the best tool for the job by far , i put an angle grinder through my hand using it the wrong way round like you did first time .
For anyone else attempting this. Drill lots of small guide holes around the door to start with. Make sure you have plenty of metal blades for the jigsaw. Good job though.
Brave. It's the bit everone hates, once you start cutting there is no going back. Too late now, but the cut edges are supposed to be primered to stop corrosion. Looks much better with tinted windows. Get yourself a set of Team Heko wind deflectors for the door windows, so that you can open them a crack for ventilation and not get any rain inside if it's wet outside.
PS you put the edging on without paining // rustproofing the cut edge its going to rust and run all down the back doors of the van. ALSO your supposed to carpet the inside before you put the edging on as you cant really tuck it under the edging once the window is glued in place .
Also. Another good tip. Put a load of tape around your cut out template. Stops the bottom of the jigsaw scratching the surface. Did your kit not come with an activation primer? It helps the adhesive bond attach to the van.

Probably best to prime the van before using the sealant. Hope your windows haven't fallen out by now
@@maxv77 some adhesives don't require primer, some do. My windows are still on!

Mine came with a bostik primer
-less adhesive so wasn't necessary
Hi george that was brilliant well done 👍I'm going to do the same with my vivaro, how did you get on with the rest of the conversion? Steve
be better if put some thing on the bare metal edges, helps against rust stains later in life,
A lesson I learnt much later!
Was trying to read the make of window on the box. Please could you let me know where you sourced the windows and what make.
Mine are from van demon, bought on ebay. All good, but sliding window leaks slightly, which I've seen across many different types.
Would you fit the sliding windows again knowing now that they leak?
I've realised there are two drains underneath the sliding tracks which were blocked, after clearing them it's now fine. Yes I'd recommend
@@georgescott6671 That's great to know thanks 👍
nice parents homestead you have, better make video about your place
You should make a video how not to use a jigsaw or fit a window correctly
You should get yourself a life lad.
Where did you get the windows from?
Van demons
