    for those wondering, your buildspeed is reduced to somewhere between .4 and .6 when your low power
    being slightly into low power will reduce build speed by .6 while being more low power will reduce that down to .4

      Can confirm.
      MinLowPowerProductionSpeed=.5 ; minimum production speed as result of low power (def=.5) ;gs applies after modifer below
      MaxLowPowerProductionSpeed=.8 ; and since most of the time you will be short by only 10 or 20, this is the maximum speed you can build if you have low power (so 99% power is treated as this %)
      LowPowerPenaltyModifier=1 ;gs "double penalty" or "half penalty". multiply this by the power short to get the actual penalty ( def=1. 2 means 30% short = 60% penalty, .5 would mean 15% penalty.)

      @@MsTatakai No, yellow is still in the clear; it just says you're barely above 100%, maybe even at exactly 100%, so you *really* need to watch your power plants and not build things willy-nilly until you've at least reached green.
      I wonder if it'd be somehow possible to have "overdrive" where more "free" power means faster build speed, similar to what multiple factories allow...

    I guess we should all take a moment to appreciate how much freedom RA2's power mechanics give. You don't really have to pay any attention to them for as long as build up your power plants properly. Compare that to RA3, where you have to actively check your power supply when building anything, or to Tiberium Wars, where you need to have half of your base be nothing but power plants. Yes, they do give better information and actually warn you if you are going to go above your power supply, but it still requires you to give it more thought than it has to. Also, tg kinda forgot to talk about Spies, I feel like they are worth mentioning considering there was a section about the Floating Disks, but this is a great summary nonetheless.

      He did mention spies infiltration could cut power and I’d argue that info is more or less well known given Allied mission 5 half revolves cutting enemy power.

      I kinda feel like most Command and conquer games have kinda a whole "make this whole side of your base full of power plants" with the only exception being Generals GLA faction, whos unique ability is to function without power at all.

    Is there any chance you could go up to CnC Generals or Zero hour at some point? Red alert 2 has always been my all time favorite as well but i also love Generals and zero hour the same. Ended them uncountable times.
    Just wondering if you would ever try those.

      Generals/ZH is an absolutely great game; it‘s got a bad reputation because it’s not really a C&C game and the fans were a bit mad back then, but it’s a great RTS nonetheless imho. If he would look into it and other CnCs, there’s content for months - weird how awesomely interesting this channel is.

      Yeah they sure are, I love them too, but I believe tg made it clear a few days ago that his main C&C title was RA2/YR and he isn't familiar with other titles. I don't think he is motivated to explore games he isn't familiar with and do similar content. However I can see it happening if the community asks him to. But he has to familiarize himself with the games before doing that.

      @@TomJakobW It depends mostly on what you consider to be valuable in a CnC game. I personally welcomed the new mechanics and changes, it's not a Red Alert or Tiberium universe sequel, so why care if it doesn't look all that much like the other CnCs? No point in debating about it now though, CnC's golden days have long since passed, better appreciate what we've already got.

    I really like the Damage = increasing power loss as an RTS mechanic. Especially considering they based the entire Yuri's Revenge Campaign on the premise with Yuri's Nuclear Reactor being slightly too damaged to end the war.

    It's a shame Yuri clones don't provide more electicity in Bioreactor. I remember putting them into it because of different color of cell (red instead of white) they made.

    What always bothers me when I watch someone else playing (like you sometimes) is when their power is in the red and I watch them continue to build units etc... without building power and I am almost yelling at the screen BUILD A POWER PLANT!!! LOL ;)

      Nah it's not as big of a deal as much as you think it depends more on the faction building power especially if your power got crippled with a super or such could cost you the game as they would take both alot of credit better used for tanks or infantry and also production as you won't be able to build other buildings while building power plants so it's more situational maybe building a barracks or a warfactory or a refinary would be more worth while while you are low on credit (targeting powerplants close together with a super is very painful actually) also defences are better against the AI against other players they are easily avoided I hope this could answer your frustrations about powerplants :)

      Penalty is 20% to 50% reduction in build speed.

      Yeah, wth mate? The slower production caused by a lack of power is arguably the most noticeable negative effect in CnC. Oh well, at least now you know.

      it's less noticeable overall in RA2 because it is in fact scaled linearly with how much of demand you can supply, down to approximately half speed at 0 power. In previous games it started at half speed and got worse from there.

      What MO has either the original game had, was cut from original game, or an older mod already did, or something new.
      Not saying MO isn't impressive; it is, especially the mission design.

    Power was a real menace in TS. If you had low power, your structures would slowly fail and start destroying themselves.

    It’s true that Yuri’s Bio Reactors give out a plenty of energy when it’s fully filled with infantry, however looking at the cost in the long run. It cost almost as expensive as the Soviet’s Nuclear Reactor.

      The nuclear reactor is the most cost efficient. Even a Yuri bio reactor with conscripts and a clone vats is less efficient.

      It's balanced out I guess. Soviet have one of the weakest economy and supply line in RA2.
      Their War Miner is the slowest ore gatherer compare to Yuri's Slave Miner and Allies's Chrono Miner.
      So the Soviet need something to allow it to function properly.
      Thus, Nuclear Reactor exist. To allows Soviet player to gain huge power base while focusing on improving their economy.

      @@johncarter4956 Correction on the Miners: all of them mine equally well. They mine the same amount of resources in the same amount of time.

      @@CnCDune True. Both Chrono Miner and War Miner seems to mine the same amount and return it to the refinery at the same time.
      .
      But that was a test in a controlled environment, not the real game.
      In a match, the fact that it took War Miner TWICE the time Chrono Miner took for a trip to gather ore and return could spell your doom in a match.
      Say both player starts with 0 resource and both collector start their trip at the same time.
      Allied will get their first 500 ore to train 2 G.I while Soviet had to wait a bit.
      Then the Allied got their second 500 ore to train 2 more G.I while the Soviets finally got their 1000 ore to train 10 Conscript to fight.
      However, by now G.I had already garrisoned a building to prepare for the attack. Those Conscript would lose the fight. Giving the Allies more advantage as the game goes.
      It's not about how much time it took for the miner to return their ore, it's about who got their unit out first. Something that Allies got the advantage over the Soviet as Chrono Miner could return their ore to allow their force to built up force immediately and on command too.
      Another problem with the War Miner that most people don't know is that this is only miner that *could f*cking crash into each other!*
      The Chrono Miner only have to worry about their go trip as they could teleport back to the refinery.
      But War Miner have to complete one full trip, both go and return, to gain the ore.
      In a match, it's pretty much mandatory to built 4-5 miners to efficiently gather ore.
      And that's where the problem started, a War Miner that are on their way to return the ore could bump into another War Miner who are about to start their operation, make you lost 2-3 seconds before you could retrieve that ore.
      And this problem stacks. The more time you lose for the ore to arrives, the more enemy could built their force to attack you.

      @@johncarter4956 It goes both ways. Allies need 2 refinery for every 6 Chrono Miners since they drop off resources twice as frequently whereas Soviets only need 1. That saves them money.

    Floating disks are OP. They steal all your power while sieging you at the same time. Meanwhile if you're playing soviets, there's no way to shut down their power, and a single power plant can power their whole base which is ridiculous.

    Fun Fact about Yuri's Bio Reactor. The box indicating a unit is inside is color coded corresponding to the unit inside. Most units are either white or red (although I don't have the specific details, generally the high tier or dangerous units tend to be red), Engineers are yellow, and Spies are a light shade of blue.
    And I don't know if you can test this, or if you can get someone else to test this online, but if you mind control an Infantry and send it into the Bio Reactor, doesn't it reveal the Bio Reactor to the commander that originally owned that unit since garrisoning the Reactor relinquished itself from mind control? (units targeted by the Psychic Dominator exempted from this rule)

      Mind Controlled units of any faction do not show their location after losing mind control inside a Bio Rector, also the colour coding is also shown in Transports.

    Video game logic: if your power needs exceed your supply just slightly, you no longer have power for anything.

      In TA and Sup Com if your mass and energy usage is higher then your production you will notice your storage going down and when it reaches 0 your production will slow down

      Ore Purifier, Industrial Plant, Cloning Vats are not affected by low power.
      In fact, there's currently the bug even with Ares that their effects aren't turned off when the building is turned off (Ares DLL re-enables TibSun TogglePower feature, and it has no effect except on Cloning Vats, which only stops cloning).

      AFAIK, Yes it does. Its just the 25% - 33% production speed penalty applies. Not sure about the build speed cap however.

    I have a question about floating disks:
    If a floating disk sucks up power (preferably from tesla reactor) can you get your power back by building so many nuclear reactors?
    If yes, can you switch floating disk from tesla reactor to allied reactor or fully garissoned bio reactor to test out if power sucking ratio changes depending on the power plant?
    Unlike spies, floating disks DRAINING power while spies DISABLES it (power off countdown)
    You SHOULD get the power back at some point if you build 50+ or so nuclear power plants.
    I want you to test it TG.

      Not sure how it's done, but floating discs disable power generation completely, the same way Force Shield does; except Floating Disc power outage lasts until the Disc goes away, while Force Shield power outage is timed.
      I'm sure the actual mechanics are vastly different, but the effect is the same.

      I think that all production (units and buildings) is slowed (not sure though)

      When low power you get build speed reduction of 20%, so production is only operating at 80%; max penalty is reduction to 50%.
      Defenses, regular buildings, infantry, tanks, aircraft, ships, everything, is hit by the same penalty.

      C&C Dune Mod how do you get that 50% penalty? From what I know you can be either with power (green or yellow bar) or low power (red bar). Also, I know that all building action takes longer with no power but the first thing you build after the MCV deployment is a power plant. However you don’t have any power at that point. So... is it built at “low power” speed? or at normal speed? Or do power plants have an “absolute speed”, meaning with or without power are built with the same speed?

      C&C Dune Mod Interesting, didnt know that you get less building speed deeper down you go. Couple of questions though.
      Let say 100% power is the minimum power you need in order to build at normal speed. So if I have 99% power... that means that I’ll build at .8 speed for what I understood. Also the minimum I can build is at .5 speed.
      My question are: what does “gs” means? Lol
      On what depends the single/double penalty multiplier?
      Also I didnt quite follow the “def=1.2 is 30%” part.
      I study engineering so use all the math you require to explain I got you! Just let say 100% is the minimum power you need to build normally and for that, 80% means 20% low power cut.

    So what does the yellow power bar even stand for? Is it a fixed percentage? The power provided by the minimum amount off power plants you need for your base?
    Im pretty sure its impossible to completly get rid off the yellow bar, no matter how much power you have.

      It is, I think. When you have way too much power vs the building you have. For example, yellow bar would not be that visible if you have 4000 power and only building draining power is a barracks.

    Can you make mental Omega walkthrough or a faction guide I already know how to use Soviet factions but the rest seems confusing and weird why did they replace lasher tanks with useless scrap tanks

      you probably select scorpion cell faction if you want lashers play psi corps
      basic tanks are all different in each factions
      bulldog tank in american
      chvelier in europe
      kappa in pacific front
      rhino in russia
      jaguar in confederation
      qillin in china
      lasher psi corps
      scrap tank in scorpion cell
      opus(correct me if im wrong)custom tank
      cyclops in haihead
      draco in coronia
      bison in last bastion
      you can search it all in the MO site it all display the info of each buildings and units there
      and i also hope he do that in mo mostly confusing in beginners

      Useless scrap tank means that you don't know how op (annoying) they actually are lol first they are super cheap and fast to produce second (which is a very important special ability they have) every time they get destroyed they fix other damaged scrap tanks (can't remember there name haha) around them so yeah they are far more annoying borderline cancerous if you use them right spamming them coupled with brutes is bound to make someone rage quit haha

      @@zeyadgabr8682 week that's cool but in the campaign in the mission were I only have oil for resources and a Stalin fist that can only build scrap tanks and whatever the anti air thing i wished I could get some rhinos and burellos that would be much easier than spamming scrap tanks
