I thought it's going to be very wobbly and while there is some movement on the stand it's very minimal considering you put a freaking DD2 on it 😂 Looks like a great option for people starting out looking for a dedicated space or for people who don't have enough space for a fully blown rig. Looking good GT Omega!
Also, we're getting closer to that simracing LAN party with all the equipment you have stacked there
these are not that eazy to transport to a lan party haha. i have next stand 2.0 and the issue is not when you fresh put them together. I run mine with R12 from moza and the impact can come from base vibrations with the time :) depends how good or quality tumbs and screws are
@@old-simracing-rookie I was hoping we host that LAN party at Jardier's apartment
@@LeonEhe haha yeah Im giving away a lot now :D
@@Jardier no no… if you give a lan party at your sim crib you will need all the wheel stands you can get… not giving them away :D hahahah
Nice video.
Hope to see your thoughts on the Simagic Alpha U soon :D
Video idea.
Pick a track you barely race. Say snetterton.
Pick a car you don’t use, say Aston v12.
Aggressive set up only.
10 laps in your actually rig, 10 laps in this rig, and see how big if any the differences are in lap times.
for a better result for all of us, let´s make it 40 rounds :-)
@@bakirafael1360 Pffff, make it 80. Jardier can stay up a bit longer. 😆
I've just started sim racing and bought the GT Omega classic frame, it's really solid and I'm impressed with the little movement there is, I've just added the rear seat frame and seat so I have a full rig now and by scouring ebay I got it all very cheap.
Wobbly, wibbly, dibbly and siblings 😅 nice review. Seams like a solid setup for low budget/space
Looks like a fantastic solution to a common problem Jardier the vid really portrays that well done mate.
My mouth was wide open at 05:19 when you move the entire thing by pulling on the wheel. Then I wondered if this was really a review for the QR2.
Good catch lol 😆
Would still only recommend sim-labs wheel stand being it’s made out of actual aluminum profile!
i have a table similar to yours, albeit a little bit shorter. can it handle a fanatec qr2 or moza 5 (regarding vibrations)?
Hey there, great video. What gaming chair by GT omega did you use in the video? I'm stuck on which chair to purchase since they sell so many and you said it felt like your normal rig so I would probably go with the one you have
I bought the GTOmega Classic wheel stand, I use the Camus C5 wheel and Simsonn load cell pedals. It does the job nicely and was only £100. I would have prefered this one, but money is tight and I bought what I could afford. Doing it on a budget isn't always easy, but I can still add a seat down the line if I want to. I highly recommend GTOmega to anyone with a tight budget starting out. Really really good in my opinion.
It looks very similar to a next level racing design, nothing wrong with that btw. I have used one of those for about 2 years now. The actual driving experience it's hard to see where the difference would be compared to an in situ rig although I am sure owners of them would disagree :) I have modified mine so its even easier to setup. Casters instead of pads and I made the connections into one easy all fit connecter and as far as a driving experience goes it really is excellent. But.. :) To have proper rigidity for the heavier loads DD's produce they have to have a very strong construct, which makes them heavy, This is not a moan but an in situ rig is better for your back and conveniences sake as even though I can have mine set up in under 4 mins from stowed away to installed without rushing, and yes I have timed it :), that 4 mins can be enough to stop you practicing.. which I know is lazy. I can see why Jards loved it though because in actual use if set up properly they a pretty damn good substitute for a fixed rig.
This looks like an update to their apex wheel stand which was excellent with my csl DD, very solid. I added the seat frame, then upgraded to an 80/20 rig.
Is this better than Next Level racing wheel stand 2.0
Hey @Jardier, you should remove your link for Canada, GTomega stopped selling product there. I'm sure you don't want to make false advertisement.
I will check because as far as I know its not stopped forever, it was for some other reason, but will check thx :)
£160 for something that can handle the likes of the DD2 is impressive. Great for those starting out or short on space.
Agreed!
great video as always. When is your fanatec clubsport dd review coming?
No idea! I was waiting for a bit longer due to a big hate to anyone testing fanatec gear because of those delivery issues
@@Jardier yeah i used to have fanatec dd1 but the delivery issues are a nightmare. Moved to simucube but the new clubsport dd looks great so be interesting to see what you think. the qr2 is brilliant
GT omega are a decent company, especially for budget. Used there apex stand before. Id be tempted with this one also. Want a coffee racer but there just too expensive to uk. £758 all in. Thats not far off what my actual rig cost.
As much as I would love to try GT Omega profile rigs and other products it appears they have decided to stop selling to Canada :(
Its a more sturdy Apex, with a better pedal plate and a much more sturdy and cost effective rear end. Not bad at all!
Would you put a dd2 25nm wheel base on this and would it hold up iam running a 8nm atm so if I keep my frame like this one then I will be upgrade to a dd2 in the furniture
would have been nice if the cam was pulled back so we could see any flex 👍👍. also wouldnt the chair lift up if you are using 60+kg load cells?
Chair i have has lock so it wont go up :)
I would need just the chair wheel mount, because I already have DD stand... 😀
good review. if youre not using it anymore send it my way!!
I absolutely love to watch your videos. You're so professional and talented on one hand, but then you also don't take yourself too serious. Just a great person!
Thank youuu❤️❤️👊
Dude! I thought that noise was your fan at 1:10. Meanwhile, it's your Aston idling 😄
hahaha yes :D
Surptise..i have this Stand in my cellar...since i want to start my sim racing career.but then i got my cats..
They Not allowed my to do this 😅😂
Lock in your cats when you are, mate.
@@hanss6501v
Cannot do this..
.i m not tough enough..
They will kill me later..i think..😅
we got the same fan let's goooooooo
I'm so mad they don't sell in Australia any more. My first cockpit one of theirs and I'm in the market for an upgrade 😭😭
Isnt it only recently? I hope they will fix it :o
@@Jardier Fingers crossed
2nd rig for Gabbie
doesn't the chair turn on itself when you drive ?
no not really, but I can do 360 on straights :D
@@Jardier haha, imagine in VR it would be hilarious 😅
My "rig" is a GT Omega stand but I actually bolted it to a heavy desk. It's super solid didn't cost a fortune. I use a 55" TV as my monitor and it just sits on the desk. My PC etc is hidden behind the TV.
I bought something similar to this , not really that good tbh.
I've just started and opted for the GT Omega classic frame, depending on where you are (UK) I got mine brand new of ebay for £60, it's really solid but I'm not on a DD yet.
@@Cit9y X Rocker from Argos , ( after the Playseat I bought from Curry’s didn’t fit together - literally , it was like all the reject parts where put into one box)
in racing sim frames, I’ve had nothing but bad luck atm .
@@lasarith2 Sounds rough, I got the frame for £60, scoured ebay and got a GT Omega seat for £55 (it's like new) only bit I've bought new is the rear seat frame £69.95+postage (which is a rip off, free p+p at £70) so £78, so in total my full rig has cost me £193 (full price £369) excluding my wheel etc.
@@Cit9y cool cool, I hope you enjoy enjoy 🙂
Love you ❤❤
