- Part one of two. The traditional British sports car is back as Jeremy Clarkson takes the TVR Tuscan 2 and the Weismann Roadster out on to the track. Sadly, having been built by the Russians and the Germans, they aren't really British but they are rather fast though!

Not for the last 107 years it's not.
Marcos are not made any more, other than the piece of rubbish 220 prototype getting around, They need to do a modern 'continuation' Mantula or LM model, big front engined in tradition. They test Lotus occasionally. MG don't have a sports car any more.
That Weismann is one of the prettiest cars I've ever seen.

I saw a Weismann Roadster once, 9 years ago, without knowing what it was.
Instanteously remembered it with that salamender logo though.
I don't know about you guys but that TVR looks so cool. I really like it, despite all the drawbacks.
My relative had one (TVR) it was very fast and very loud, but nothing worked on it. We went out in the rain and the wipers stopped working, the doors regularly wouldnt lock or unlock , the electrics were crap etc etc, but it did look and sound great.

Last week ive met the wiesmann on the streets. Its truly a magnificent and a so pretty looking car

they say less to go wrong, yet it has the sequential gearbox from the m3 which are renowned for breaking

It breaks after lots of miles, which you won't drive in a weekend roadster for the summer.

TVR in any form hasn't made a car since 2006. This piece was from Top Gear Series 6 from 2005. The Tuscan 2 was a revised version of the old Tuscan reimagined under the new ownership. The last model they made was the Sagaris, which was designed and tested completely under the new management and ownership.
Wiesmann is one of the most beautiful cars ever. Very classy
Clarkson can say what he wants, I still want that Tuscan!

This is what TG should be today. Funny and factual. One of my favourite TG clips. The film and the music are just great.
And somehow the original soundtrack survives! A rare occurrence if I ever saw and heard one.
I like the fact that this segment beings with the 'Solaris' OST, specifically with the track called 'Fasten your seatbelt' - cool and very appropriate.

The Weisman is a strange ,beautiful looking vehicle.It looks like a combination of the Jaguar C-type and the Allard K3 Roadster.

I always liked the TVR look, from the Griffith onwards.
And this Tuscan's as curvy as a '40s bombshell with lights that look as if it's packing two .303s and a brace of 20mm Hispanos, love it ha ha ha!!!

Good - I'm pleased for you. But just remember this: in a 1 Km drag race you'd need binoculars to see the back of my Chimaera, I'd be so far ahead.
The MR2 is a good mid performance car. But the TVR is simply in another dinension as far as performance is concerned.
TVR has made a career off of making cars that make similar power to a Corvette, weigh 1,000 pounds less than a Corvette, and run lap times 15 seconds slower than a Corvette, as well as needing expensive repairs every 2 miles, due to their superior British engineering and handling. Wait a second...

TVR, Lotus, Noble...brits made the most exciting cars of the 00s.
I owned a tvr chimaera then moved to an e46 m3. They handled pretty much exactly the same.

You're right,though looking at the Weismann again, the body style is somewhat similar to the Bugatti 57G Tank.
By the way:
Dear TopGear Team, PLEASE test a MTM RS6 R (!) oder a Hartge H1 (H50 or whatever). Brabus and AMG are NOT the best "Tuners" in Germany!
The RS6 R is way faster than many of your "supercars", but you can take your whole family with you. 730 PS (710.15 bhp), 340 km/h (211.27 mp/h), 0-60 mp/h in under 4 secs (and the way to topspeed is very steady) in a full functional, huge family car.

it's weird that the weismann in forza 4 had a v10....
+Evan Boyer there was a V10 version called MF5, it had the engine of the old M5/M6 with 507 BHP, but they only built like 78 of this early version. The later versions of the MF5 had the V8 biturbo of the X5M and the X6M. The Wiesmann shown in the video is the MF3 with the 3.2 litre engine of the old BMW M3.

I know cars pretty well, and i actually find the Sagaris a pretty car, and if i had the bucks for it, i would buy it. That thing grips like the devil, it is a machine to be respected. Not like here Tuscan, that is quite the nervous fella.

It's a German, BMW powered, handcrafted Wiesmann. A Ferrari is a Ferrari, not a Ferrorru; a Lamborghini not a Loburghuno; and as a consequence of that a Wiesmann is not a Weismann ;).
