  • Join Richard Hammond as he puts the TVR Tuscan through it's paces, testing whether it's a Super Car or a Roadster. The design of the bespoke interior was made by hand, making it look unique, though you can't deny it's look, it's reliability on the other hand is something to be desired for.

They do. When I last saw a Tuscan, it stands out over the dreary boxes that r on the road today, the Tuscan has a great personality and u can tell it was made with ambition. And the sound is crazy. I pulled along side one in my fn2 type r and damn the tvr can move

Bangs his head because I have an itch for a T350c too. On my 3rd TVR now and without doubt unless something goes wrong there will be a 4th. +TVRJAS It is too bad that they can't sell them here in the States. it's because of bullshit laws stating that all new cars foreign or domestic must be equipt with all the new modern safety bullshit, anti-lock brakes, American
Bumpers. And the drivers aids. I mean what the fuck does shit really do? Is it there for idiots behind the
wheel? Well idiots who cannot control their cars and know it's limitation, shouldn't drive period-problem
solved. It is because over here they have people who will sue for anything and everything. They seem pretty
impressive, despite what Richard says. I understand the focus of the company and that is to provide a highend sports car with supercar performance for a reasonable price. So what if the interiors all look the same. Or it's doorlocks are a little odd. Itr has the the right stuff though, lightweight car, great handling, with a race proven
engine and transmission. They are the last British sportscar made in the UK, by Britons. And I hope the keep in business, interesting company

I had one for a number of years and loved it! - brilliant fast monster of a car (I could out accelerate big motor bikes) but awful reliability - broke down at a garage after filling up very bad handling on roads with pot holes and tram line indentations in the road, one minute you are driving straight the next you are swerving through no fault of your own. Broke down so often that AA wrote to me to tell me I am using them too much!!!! Buyer beware!!! PS you can't see the engine easily as the bonnet is bolted on!

Think about this, at the time this review was made an Elise had; no power steering, no traction control and no power brakes or abs, while being mid engined and liable to go down the road backwards at the slightest provocation. Many more Elises got stuffed than Tuscans because people think 'oh they are low power they will be friendly' they aren't.

Thinking about getting one of these second hand, can't drive yet. I'm guessing it's not the best first car...

A series of dysfunctional design choices makes for an expensive, bizarre joke on their customers. Yup. They couldn't even put the gas cap in a convenient place; even that had to be made difficult by the tricksters. A car for the truly insane.

This has to be one of the worst car reviews I've ever seen.
"The boot is huge!" (but we're not going to tell you how big, or even let you see it)
"These air-vents are great" (but we're not going to tell you that you can't really point them where you want them)
"The dials don't have needles, but little flaps" (but we're not going to show you even though we easily could)
We're also not going to tell you that the bonnet is bolted down and no hinges so you can't just release and lift, you need to completely remove it. The battery is near the floor behind the front wheel with the jump terminals exposed and pointing down. Oh, and good luck in getting into your car if the battery goes flat as the manual door release is inside the bloody car!!

Seems like you watched Doug DeMuro's review recently :D

    • @monstercrx

this is an old review in a dated format, the boot is huge and do you really need to know how big it is what are you going to be transporting in your two seater sports car?
There are more than enough vents,
why do you need to get into the upper bonnet? as all the day to day things you need to top up are under the lower one? and if its for servicing you can undo it in the garage.
why does it matter where the battery is? if as you say the jump terminals are accessable from under the car? the inside manual door release is yes inside. there is another external one you wouldnt know about but also if you get locked out with a flat battery why not just connect another battery to the jumo terminals and use the key fob to open the car and get in
