The Wiesmann's lap was so clean, it went around the corners perfectly. Power probably let the time down.

The stig just showed that the thing about the Tuscan is just "you have to be a very good driver to push properly"
Forgot the power laps for these cars. Was actually surprised the TVR was faster, and by quite a margin. I just love TVR, ever since I've heard of this brand I've desired to own one. Beautiful cars.
They’re both quite pretty but that Weissman is so cool. I’ve always remembered this segment because of that shot of the Weissman in the sunset with the snowfall, it’s beautiful

Arch I never understood that. Every Tuscan I've seen (all two of them) have had a traditional turn-key start.

No, honestly, there is just a start-stop button on the driver's side, it's just really counterintuitive if you do not share exactly the same thought-processes as the designer. Or, for that matter, have not recently hit yourself over the head.
The first Tuscans had a key like a normal car, when you get in you turn the and press the immobiliser which will prime the fuel pump and then turn in again to start
Tuscan 2’s Just had a fob with a stop start button which you pressed once for ignition and then press immobiliser to prime the fuel pump and then hold the start button down to turn it over
You need 3 things: The Tuscan Manuel book, someone who works for TVR and a ton of Mana and XP to unlock it and start it.

Dont normal cars do that automatically? Why did they look at a lawnmower and think,"Yes, lets do that with our super expensive car."
To get out of the tvr you need to press a button...by the stereo

Its a fantastic car if your the kind of person who will do all the maintenance yourself. Its not a bankers car, you have to respect tvr for doing that.

That tvr is beautiful
The lap time just shows that the tvr is a real drivers car. You’d get used to the weissman and then bored of it like many cars but with the tvr you’ll be increasing your driving skill as time goes on

I miss TVR. They had something that was different from other marques like Aston Martin etc. I miss the mad styling and the mad driving that went with them.
TVR's just aren't made for everybody... Think that's the point of a "special" car... Unique and adorable cause it would never ever be perfect and boring. Cars like these have a soul and carisma... ;)

@@Zynderion117 Or she likes a manly dangerous car, while most people consider the safer, 150 with better control. Because lets be honest, you're going to do a lot more turns than straight road driving in any car. And if something feels nice to 30-80, you wont notice the 120+ until highways, and then 150 is fine, rarely do 160 unless you race, which most average cars can't do. So it's the happy line of general consumers and not breaking down.
Although the TVR is faster, I would take the wiesmann because it is a better everyday driver.

I would buy weissman, even if it had an engine from prius (not prius sound though). Just look at that Mafia style retro magnificence.

Well, its no wonder that the wiesmann was slower: they drove the mf3 which is the slowest wiesmann at all("only" 343HP and straight-six engine). there are the MF4 GT (367 HP V8) and the MF5 GT(507HP V10). id really like to see the last one on top gear! if you thing so too: thumbs up...
It's called Wiessmann ("Weecemunn"), but they call it "Viceman" the whole time :-)

I don't think the TVR looks really good. It has some nice features (I always liked the lights on TVRs - very British). However the overall shape with these strange waves and weird back look girlish to me. The Wiesman isn't my favorite design, either, but it has a classic roadster line. It looks better when it's open, which is probably how you should ride a convertible anyway.
Also, I didn't know TVR is Russian now. So did they go bancrupt in the meantime? I haven't heard about TVR for a while.
they've come back, it's owned by British businessman Les Edgar. Haven't been making any new cars yet I'm afraid.

i know wiesman very well. lived for 25 years near the town where they are build ;) .
when they started (guess it was in the early 90s), they made only an handful cars a year and you had to wait 2-3 years to get one, but popularity grew and they expanded pretty fast.

I'd love a TVR. I didn't know they had stereos and electric windows though. I live somewhere with no weather, I don't know what windows are for. Somebody give me a Caterham. Any color but black. Black cars are like lava here.

Why does the rear end of the Weisemann look like it was taken from the front of the TVR?
I know the Weismann was slower around the track than the TVR, but, I'd still choose it over the TVR.

@StuRaz they say alot of things like that maybe they werent at the time? who knows. Just like the Audi R8 5.2, the trip didn't work. Or the ZR1, he didn't mention how it was falling apart on him, but I have never heard of that stuff happening unless you are constantly driving it hard. For all we know a lot of the electronics couldn't be working while the TVR is driven hard.
If I was to pick between the Weismann or the TVR, I would go with the Weismann.

@laz1c111 you missed the point...the point is that no car should be that difficult to operate, there is simply no point to it. And if the car is that difficult to get in/out of and start, then think about how difficult it might be to actually drive.

i want to have both of them but the tvr because of its 5 speed full manual transmission and power and the challenge to drive it, is more tempting then the MF3.

a friend has the TVR Tuscan 2 too, it is actually very easy to live with, there is just a starter button and the door opener is in the middle of the console, it's the big button at 0:59 twist it to the right and your door is open, to the left for the other door of course. so if the car is on fire, and it will be one day, you and your passenger have to make a decision, who get's out first? and who gets out alive?
i would take the weissmann, and i have never seen the stig on a stamp here in sweden
TVR wins? There is something to be said about being wild and crazy.
The Weissman would be my choice even though the TVR is more powerful, Handling is more important to me than power.
And the Weissman looks gorgeous in black.

Basically the TVR is the more fun car. The Wiesmann is the more precise car. The TVR was faster around the track because it has more horse power and is lighter. If the Wiesmann had more power it would have been faster because it handles better. The TVR is a lot more work to drive fast. Power is easier to add than good handling.
I'd prefer the TVR Sagaris, but you take what you can get I suppose.
Its Wiesmann. But i love TVR. I would like to own a Cerbera Red Rose.
