- FIRST THINGS FIRST | Nick Wright SLAMS Russell Wilson, Justin Fields Will WIN Pittsburgh Steelers
#firstthingsfirst #nickwright #pittsburghsteelers
Am I missing something here ? What's with certain pockets of the media acting like Russ was trash last year lmao. I watched all his games last year. He was solid. He showed lots of flashes of the old Russ. He played well. Why are we pretending that Fields is just gonna come in and dominate the QB competition with Russ lmao. Russ ain't some pushover 😂
Tf 🤣
yea could not agree more. I think only Nick Wright has said its a competition in camp.
Factz
@@travisoshea this man legit hates Russ 😂 Idk why. With Nick, it's usually something deeper related to Mahomes or the Chiefs, but I just don't see the connection and reason to keep taking pot shots at the man lmao
@@jctslice hahahaha yea man it’s honestly insane. I’m not sure what it is. Maybe because a lot of people were saying before he came to Denver that him and Sean were going to take over the that division. Not sure at all.
Maybe he wishing he was with Russ’ wife hahaha
@@jctslice it’s because he played on the Broncos
These guys hate Russell Wilson.
I think they just think he’s washed.
Everybody in media does.
Russell Wilson is a 13-year-old corvette with 250,000 miles under the hood and an engine and transmission that has never been replaced. Justin Fields is a 3-year-old corvette with 25,000 miles under the hood. Russell will break down sooner than later. Justin stay ready. The Good news, you got Wilson for the cheap.
I really wonder who will start the season!
RUSS IS HUNGRY...
For?
If Fields could throw out of the pocket and knew how to read defenses he’d be really good 😂
Just minor details
They are talking about him learning how to prepare how to get ready not if he can learn how to throw or something like that.
Fields needs to learn how to do a lot
Julian, you are going off of one clip. Justin has been humble and has said he is willing to learn from Russ and how he wants to be coached by Coach T.
I’m not going off one clip. It’s a collection of my observations with regards to him, previous statements, etc
@@JWLSports oh ok. Well if you look at Justin’s OTA highlights, you'll see his mechanics have drastically changed from what it was at Chicago. I can guarantee you he's learning something from Russ and the staff.
Julien I agree with you. But, the Major factor is Mike Tomlin who values veterans. Especially a Super Bowl Winning Veteran QB who is coming off a 26 TD and 8 Int Season in a dysfunctional orgainzation. Justin better be ready because I believe RW3 will take the Steelers to the AFC Championship Game. And I hope that he doesn't bid himself out of Pittsburgh. JF2 is the future if he patiently waits, learns, increase QB IQ and follow Mason Rudolph's philosophy!
Russell Wilson is the starter. He is also due for a comeback season. Wilson beat the Chiefs and Bills in 2023 with no RB1, no TE1 and a group of WR2's in Denver.
Some players do better in different cities and Denver was just not a good city for Russell Wilson.
I expect Wilson to start and do well. They have a revamped OL and an OC that was an OL who thrives on building a strong running game that opens up opportunities for the passing game. If healthy, George Pickens should eclipse 1,300 yards and 8 TD's in 2024. Quez Watkins could be a sleeper WR2 if he gets 70+ targets. Rookie WR Roman Wilson from Michigan probably starts at WR3.
Yeah I’m excited to see how this all plays out!
So Russ goes 26/9 or 28/9 plus few rushing TDs, on a shit team so what’s he going do with this offense? 😂😂 media are tools
Nick definitely doesn’t like Russ
26/8
The thing about Baker is he came in humble and the Browns organization ruined that. Tyrod Taylor was a big fan of his, then he got hurt 3 games in and Baker had a record breaking rookie season. Then the organization let a rookie pick their future head coach in Freddy Kitchens and it was all down hill from there in an arrogance standpoint. Case Keenum was a fan of Bakers as well and he actually said Baker was really receptive to learning from him. He had no guidance early on and that really hurt him, the Browns organization failed him.
He did not come in humble. Come on. He was furious that Taylor was starting and hated and was petty towards his coach.
@@JWLSports “People took Tyrod for granted,” Mayfield said. “He’s an extremely good leader. His work ethic alone, his routine and being the same guy every day for every single person in the building, it’s a tremendous way of showing his leadership. Obviously, he’s a great athlete and great quarterback. Everything he taught me, leading by example and doing different things, not that we lead the same way, but there are always different ways to lead.
“I’m very thankful to have stepped into a quarterback room with Tyrod ... to learn from. It’s something I’m obviously very grateful for.”
Stanton said although Mayfield was starting, Taylor continued to go to work every day, preparing as if he was the starter. Stanton said Taylor continued to be the first player in the building each day.
"The way that he talks and the way that he leads on an individual one-on-one basis is impressive, too," Stanton said.
At 29, Taylor was the third-oldest player on a fairly young team, and the veteran quarterback, who admits he was still growing as a leader at that time, said he had to figure out what his role on the team needed to be to help the franchise succeed. Although Stanton said Taylor wasn’t a big "rah-rah guy."
“Everything that he taught me, leading by example and doing different things, not saying that we lead the same way, but there’s always different ways to learn,” Mayfield said, “and I’m very thankful to have stepped in a QB room with Drew Stanton and Tyrod that I was able to learn from those guys. It’s something I’m obviously very grateful for.”
"They traded a third-round pick [for] Tyrod, just doesn't make sense," he said, via Pro Football Talk. "We got a lot more out of that than anybody else could. The guy that he is for this franchise, for all of our teammates is unbelievable. For me to watch him and learn him has been great. He sets the bar high, shows up, his work ethic, it's a great situation for me to come into to have someone like that. It's good for me."
"That is a huge part of why I was looking forward to being around Case," Mayfield said Wednesday in a video call with local reporters. "He was in this system, so I can hear his thoughts on how it is taught and how he reads it."
I am so sick of Nick hating on Russ. It's so old. We all know he will weasel out of it at the end, even though he's done nothing but double down on it.
He’ll bring up with some offsetting condition he vaguely mentioned once on one episode that magically negates all of his bad takes.
@@mrman3523 Yeah, or come up with a new statistics that can explain Russ' success, even though it never did before. I've seem this circus before
So I assume you want Russ starting this season?
@@JWLSports If they want to win and reach the playoffs, they should start Wilson yes
Humility is crucial in every aspect of life, period.
Without a doubt!
Wtf are we even talking about 1 guy won a Superbowl one guy hasn't even made the playoffs
One guy is seen as washed and the other as potential. People love potential!
@@JWLSportspotential means nothing
Of course it does. That’s why the draft has sky high ratings.
@@JWLSports It’s a speculation it doesn’t actually mean anything to people that know football. It’s an unlimited value. Anyone can have potential but they still are nothing compared to the person that already has the skills.
Of course it means something. You literally see players like Mcah Parsons getting hyped about various players being drafted.
YOU don't listen well.
You are not aware that this young man was asked to win with a group of players who are no longer in the league, FOR THE MOST PART. Do some thorough research.
Yet the losses were blamed on him... YOU are included in that group of BLAMERS.
What are you talking about? 😂
What?
what? see Julian this is the same kind of comments that cowboys fans make hahaha soo many people have zero clue what they are watching
I honestly am not so sure I understand the comment. Lol. Once someone comes at me for no reason I pretty much just check out. It’s been happening more and more recently.
@@JWLSportsI fell where you coming from
Coach Payton just polished a turd , in the end still got flushed
lol. Very descriptive analogy. 😂
Week 2 is Wilson's Superbowl game after that he done
I really hope he plays vs Denver. That will be a lot of fun to watch!
Says the Broncos fan
Dude do you know Feilds? Thats crazy your attackig a mans character you dont know squat about... but then try and hype yourself up 😅😅😅😅
Where did I ever attack his character? 🤦♂️
Nick hates the Steelers
He hates everyone not the Chiefs. lol
Nah. He hates Russell Wilson because he thinks he's a phony basically lol
