Thank you, thank you. I've been quilting for 40 years and this is by far the best tutorial; on sewing triangles I have ever seen. I have always struggled with the points with triangles. Awesome teaching. Thank you.
I really like the way things line up by keeping the dog ears on and pressing open, makes things much easier. Just bought the Fat Quarter Workshop book from a local UK bookseller, can't wait to see what else is inside! One hint for keeping track of which pile to pull from next: Start with a paperweight on the first stack, then as you pull, pick up the paperweight and put it onto the next pile. So once you've sewn together the first few triangles, come back and start the next layout from wherever the paperweight is.
Fat Quarter Workshop arrived today -- love the projects included. Plan on doing each one as a baby quilt then donating to Project Linus. Should be good practice!
Clearview ruler is a must have. It is the most comprehensively marked 60 degree. Consider a helper ruler to butt against triangle ruler make awkward cuts easier and reduce rotation by half.
First time working with triangles for a Christmas star table topper. Your lesson comes very handy before I start sewing and making points match! Thanks!
Purchased your book. Love this quilt pattern. I already have a 60 degree ruler, but it has one blunt tip. Can I still use it? Or can the pattern be adjusted for the blunt tip?
Technically you can measure everything a 1/4 inch less, so if it says cut at 6-inches, you'd line the 5 3/4" line up instead of the 6", but I'd just get the Clearview to avoid confusion and your blocks not fitting together correctly.
@@QuiltAddictsAnonymous Thank you so much! By the way, I was in the Quad Cities area and wished Icould visit oyur shop in person to get some of those beautiful fabrics. Will need to settle for online. 😀
I imagine she cut them the same way she cut the larger triangles but using a smaller (shorter) strip. You wouldn’t need the right angle side piece in the small size, though.

Thanks for the video! So many good tips!
Ironically enough, I just bought a 60 degree triangle to make this quilt. It looks great in your fabric line!

I didn’t see how you cut the smaller triangles?
