My favorite part: "I strive for 95% perfection, not 100%, so, if that's your jam..." Oh my! I needed to hear that.
Thanks for the tip about placing grain on the bottom or top of rows as you sew triangles together. I never heard this before , and it was a real lightbulb moment!
I just signed up for your newsletter, you are just 50 minutes to the north of me. It’s so rare to find anyone with your abilities so close to me.
Mister Domestic I think it would be fun to get your opinion in person on how to finish off a a large quilt top that was made for me.
I know this video is 5 yrs old but I found it today. THANK U. I saw a pattern I wanted to try with 60 degree triangles & thought, oh I'll need a triangle cutter! But now I can use my ruler I already have!! Love the video and followed you.
You are the highlight of my UA-cam surfing. Not only are you hilarious, you know what you’re doing. 😉😉
You are the freaking BEST! You’re the only person who explained getting the triangles together in a way I could understand. It definitely feels/looks screwed up when you put them together at first because of the overlap.
I finally know what a equilateral triangle is and will never forget it!
You are fantastic. Your laugh is infectious.
That quilt behind you is so Gorgeous!!! I'm inspired! Thank you! :)
Once again I learned something from you that my HS Home EC teacher did not teach. And you give out free good vibes to boot. Love you and your sense of humor. Merry Christmas.
I always wondered how these triangle quilt projects would come together. I would never attempt one in the past but you make it look do able. Thanks for the great tutorial and all the giggles. Making smiles everyday Mr. Domestic. I love your happiness.
You give instructions in a way my brain can absorb it best. Thank you!!
You are so inspirational and real and entertaining and I adore watching your sewing tutorials. They are so much fun to watch.
Thanks for the great tip on 'grain' - will certainly help me avoid a lot of frustration!
Love you sense of humour.....great music and and instructions you make it look easy going to try this tonight!!! Thx a bunch....Keep making it fun dude!!!!
I cannot explain how grateful I am for this tutorial! I did not want to have to go buy a triangle ruler! As I have an omnigrid! Thank you for showing me how to use it!!!
I was so scared of equilateral triangles, but now I’m going to give it a whirl!! Thank you for your awesome tips and boundless energy, love love love your videos 😘
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you -- I was having such a rough time with my first triangle piecing and sewing!!
I am late to this party but I love this method. No special ruler! Mathew you are so charming. It’s a treat to watch your videos. Many thanks from Chilliwack BC.
OMG you are killing me smalls! Your laughter is just as fun as the tutorial! Love you, love your show!
Ohhh You Crack me up.
Different than any other quilt teacher. "If you want it perfect.... it'll take more time. And I'm about being done. " 😁🥰👍
You have no idea how much you brightened up my day today! You make me smile - I enjoy your enthusiasm! Today was a rough day , I just watched several of your videos just for a “pick up”
😉👍🏼!
This is a great idea- so many things could be made with these triangles. Thank you for showing how very simple it can actually be! I didn’t realize how easy triangles were- thanks!
🎄Have a wonderful Christmas!🎄Enjoy your daughter- the little days go by so quickly!☺️
I'm looking to do a rainbow ombre triangle pattern hoodie for me and my husband. This tutorial was SOOOO helpful! Thanks!! Pura Vida from Costa Rica.
Great tips on straight grain and cutting without specialty ruler!
You make everything look easy
Thanks for the video. I've never worked with equilateral triangles the way you are doing them. I've only used them in kaleidoscope quilts where I have to cut down triangle by triangle through 6 pieces of matched fabric. Those can be a struggle. Your quilt looks like a lot of fun.
needed this vid. you are so fun and a great instructor!!
This guy is great and his tips are perfect!!!
I LOVE your energy!! Immediately subscribed!!
Omg! Came for help, stayed for everything else! Thank you I needed that!
I wish I had your patience and talent! What a beautiful quilt💖💖💖
You, are, amazing. Beyond compare. I adore you and your tutorials! You make things fun and easy to understand!! Thank you!
Thank you! I'm making a pillow for my granddaughter out of clothes I made for her mom when she was a child. I've been cutting triangles for years and was afraid to start this. Your tutorial is so very helpful!
Thank you for showing this using just a regular ruler!! I so many tutorial say to just buy the equilateral triangle ruler but this is nice cause most everyone who quilts already has the 6.5x24 in ruler with these fab lines!!
Mathew oh Mathew, you are so funny that I’m laughing to myself while watching your video as always. I’ve not been able to sew because I’ve been busy with the move but now that I’ve seen this, I can’t wait to start making something again. You’ve definitely brighten my day with your positive energy. Sending love to you from Brunei.
Small but maybe helpful cheat/tip is to put a piece of tape along the sixty degree line. That way you know which line to put on the edge of your fabric. Love the positivity of this (and all) your videos Matthew. Keep it up!!!! xx
@@MxDomestic only learned it cos I did the same as you and kept putting the wrong Angle line and cutting lopsided triangles hahahaha. At least this way saves fabric. lol. x
LOL Boop boop boop boop!! lololol Your sound effects are EVERYthing! lol. I had the hardest time sewing triangles the first time I tried. Lining these up the way you did, makes so much sense. Thanks for a great tutorial! Fave term of the video: Pointiliscious! lolololol . Merry Merry!
I came here by accident and it is instant LOVE!
Bet there is no dull moment in their house. But love his sewing tip's.

Brilliant. I never knew the trick of placement for the bias vs straight of grain sides. Thanks!
Just going through watching your older videos, even though I've already seen them, cause I love them so much....so don't mind me and my comments on videos posted a year or more ago hahah

You’re so funny. I also forget my words! I’m a music teacher and my students fill in the blanks. Hahahaha. I love this tutorial. I’ve always loved triangle quilts but have been really scared to try it.

Your the best man...Keep up the good work.
I love watching you honey! Thanks for all the tips! Carry on!!!!
Great tutorial thanks. Would like to see how you square it off.
The totally degrees of ALL triangeles are 180. What you ment is, a triangle with 3times 60 degrees. I like the result and i like you having a fun day. Thanks for showing us.
thanks! i cut triangles to make a cracker cushion wh was supposed to have triangles lined up in a row but when i went to sew them together they made a circle instead of a row! love your video😙
Love your energy !!
Great job . U make it easy
To stay on the same ruler line use masking tape and tape along the line on both sides of the ruler. It acts as a a ledge to more easily line up your fabrics and then also is a reminder which line you use and don’t cut your fabric wrong
👏🏽You are super fun to watch! 🙌🏽 Boom boom boom!!! 😂
Love love this tutorial.
You totally make my day😁💜💜
I recently started watching your videos 👍, and I noticed that I was wearing the same shirt as you..how ironic 😁 GREAT VIDEOS

I’m probably late to the game but sound is lost after 11:25. Love your videos!
Great tutorial!! You have such a great personality! I'm also loving your iron ! What kind is it?
I lose the audio at 11:22 when you bring out the pressing block. I have tried restarting and it still drops there. Hopefully it comes back on. I thoroughly enjoy your videos
Tell me about your iron, I like it. I'm left handed and I get tangled in the cord! Thanks
How are you doing the back side? this is pretty awesome..did you put the backing on yet..if so can we see that demonstrated as well? ty
Hi! Pillow? I have watched several of your videos..and I saw one before this one ...great quilt front but I didn't see the back..(sorry,...I watch so many..I get confused..lol)
What what what! Those points were mahvalous! What size strip were the triangles cut from on the quilt behind you? Love that one.
I have a 6 by 24 ruler with 60 deg on it will it work
Hello Mr domestic! I am a huge fan of the show. What marching is Felisha? I’ve been looking for a good sewing matching. Mine is a bit simple and falling apart. But from what I have seen she is a very good machine! Keep being awesome!
Hi Matthew! Loved this video. Very helpful. I've seen large triangles together but struggled with the machine quilting because there was so much bulk where the points intersect. Is there a good way to reduce the bulk at the points? Thanks for any advice!
No I guess I should try it before I asked. Thanks.
great music. who is it
Oh how I love geometry! Not!! 🤣 But this is a great pattern that’s nice and easy! I’ve always hated math and somehow I managed to pick the one hobby that has so much to do with math! I guess those teachers were right...I did end up using math in real life. Even if it was to make awesome quilts 😉.
