Hi Mina, there’s no difference other then if you want to use this headset on a computer for the best connectivity and audio experience, the Opencomm UC (includes USB dongle) is highly recommended. Many customers who connect a Bluetooth headset to their computer with the built in Bluetooth find little to no wireless range, degraded audio and issues with the disconnecting randomly. If you don’t need computer connection then the Opencomm (non UC) would be a better way to go and give you the cost savings.

Hello what kind of dongle bluetooth? I just recieved mine, it is working perfect in my cp but it does not let me connect to my laptop that has a bluetooth connection. I think i need to buy a dongle bluetooth but what brand or type. Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Hi Rain, there’s two version of the Shokz. One that doesn’t include the USB dongle and the one that does is the Opencomm UC. The Bluetooth dongle isn’t available sold separately yet but we believe it will be in the near future.
Gonna be honest have this one. And still the blue parrot line like the 350 and 450 series still wins all day everyday. Nothing compares to the noise cancellation that the blue parrots provide. They do suck cause they are heavy and bulky and like myself I wear glasses which also sucks. But yeah these are ok.
The blue parrot is an over the ear design - the earmuffs will block external noise. How well does the active noise cancelling work on the microphone? Some headset designs use multiple microphones to isolate the speakers voice from the speakers voice.
Been using with Teams for few months, it's working well but as of today, I am getting a double-beep at about five seconds intervals in the headset when i'm muted. Very annoying. Do you know how to turn it off? When i'm mute and unmute in Teams . The headset say " mute on / mute off"
Unfortunately you can't turn this feature off at this point but it's feedback we've provided to Shokz. We're hoping they can allow this to be customizable in the future.
Can you tell me how well the boom microphone folds away? I have the last model aeropex and what I like is that I can leave them on even if I have glasses, a hat, etc. I'm afraid that the mic, when not in use would get in the way.
@@HeadsetAdvisor Yes, I saw that. But when it is folded back, how close to the head is it? For example: if I put on a baseball cap, will the microphone get in the way? Will the baseball cap get in the way of me putting the microphone back towards the front?
We would go with the Opencomm but they’re two entirely different types of headsets. If you haven’t used a bone conduction headset before, there’s nothing that actually rests inside of your ears so it’s a different experience.
Tqvm. How about bose quietcomfort earbuds? Is their noise cancelling mic better? Also, between opencomm and bose, which has better listening experience? I used aftershokz before, the one without mic. Now looking for one with mic for video conferencing and calls, also for listening music while i m in gym. Thanks a lot. Ur videos helped me a lot. 😍
@@TeoNieChing_KKD In regards to speaker noise cancellation the Bose will be better as they're made for that. In regards to microphone sound quality and mic noise cancellation the Opencomm is night and day better in this area. It's hard to comment on the listening experience because they're entirely different. If you're looking for a headset to block out the noise going on around you for what you listen to, then earbuds would be better as the Opencomm doesn't rest inside of your ears.
I have both, and in my experience, I prefer 5200UC. Audio and noise cancellation quality is similar, but 5200UC always works for me while OpenComm somethimes refuse to work with MS Teams until I reboot my computer...not sure the reason, though one of my colleague in office encounter the same situation, thus I believe it does have some hidden bug....To my surprise is that Shokz never provides any firmware update to their headset, thus don't expect any resolution from them except resetting ......
I am interested in getting the UC version instead of normal ones for better PC to headset connectivity. Can’t seems to find them on the web anywhere not even their office website?

The design has ample space unlike earbuds so the manufacturer can add bigger lythium batteries for more than 200 hundred hours Play time with a single charge. That little improvement can be proved helpful in the selling of this un aurthox design or technology. For this design increased weight wiukd not be an issue in my humble opinion. Thanks for sujesting this video. I was looking for a product where I can find a good quality mic along with earbuds or earphones. However this was a better option but one more thing that was lacking in this headset was ip rating. I belive it should be minimum of ipx7 or more as its sports headset. Please do let me know if in the near future your company launch such boncondensen headphone with quality mic for outdoor videos
Could I use this for Sports Coaching? I need to be able to play music through a bluetooth speaker but also use a wireless headset to speak to my participants. I use an old Android phone for my music which is connected to the speaker. Can this headset be connected to my phone and then output my voice to the speaker?
Hi Linus, we don't have the exact answer to that. That being said, one is 2020 and the other is 2021 so it leads us to believe it could just be a newer version with further improvements from 2020 to 2021. It looks to be the exact same headset though.

Helli what app do you use to record on phone and laptop? Thabkyouu
We use an Iphone to record mobile phone voice and Windows Voice Recorder on the computer.
Can you tell me how well the boom microphone folds away? I have the last model aeropex and what I like is that I can leave them on even if I have glasses, a hat, etc. I'm afraid that the mic, when not in use would get in the way.
Hi Mark, the microphone can be rotated up and towards the back of your head if needed.
@@HeadsetAdvisor Yes, I saw that. But when it is folded back, how close to the head is it? For example: if I put on a baseball cap, will the microphone get in the way? Will the baseball cap get in the way of me putting the microphone back towards the front?
I want the camera mic
😁
Is this the brandnew opencomm 2022? Is the mic removable? And is it compatible to microsoft teams webex?
Hi Rain, yes this is and the mic isn't removeable. Also, yes it's compatible with Teams and Webex.
If i got without the UC dongle now, can i purchase it separately for my current set?
The UC dongle isn't sold separately at this time, but we're trying to work with Shokz on offering that as something to be sold separately.
AfterShokz OpenComm vs Poly Voyager 5200 UC, which mic has better noise cancelling and sound quality?
@@tomato3008 thank you very much! this is very helpful
Hi will the opencomm work for taking calls from my computer for 7 straight hours .Also what is the difference between c102 and acs 100
Yes it will. For computer use you’ll want the Opencomm UC. I’m not familiar with the C102 or C100 referred to here, can you help clarify?
@@HeadsetAdvisor sorry I got confused not sure why I mentioned c102 in my list but thank you for getting back to me I will buy it this weekend .
When is the UC officially released?
Stock for the US and Canada should be ready to ship in about 2 weeks. Not sure about globablly on the release date as of yet.
WHEN we get the new model?
Sorry I’m not fully understanding. How do you mean?
@@HeadsetAdvisor the model 2022
I was wrong about two phones connected simultaneously as I have just done it now after watching a tutorial video.
Glad we were able to help!
There’s still no one button to mute?
There's not a dedicated mute button but you'd press and hold the volume control for a couple seconds to mute/unmute.
How does the voice control work
I am interested in getting the UC version instead of normal ones for better PC to headset connectivity. Can’t seems to find them on the web anywhere not even their office website?
Hi that is because they aren't officially released yet but we do have a few units of the first stock available now on our website here: headsetadvisor.com/products/aftershokz-opencomm-uc-bone-conduction-stereo-bluetooth-wireless-headset-for-pc-mobile
@@HeadsetAdvisor Amazing! I placed my purchase just now and save some money with coupon code too =) Thanks for the detailed testing!
Does it support multipoint connection?
Yes
We are launching a new software to help more noise cancellation later this year Neep.com
How do you activate the noise cancelling mic
Hi Lila, the noise reducing mic is built in and on at all times and no way to turn it on or off.
Is the mic detacheabke?
Unfortunately it isn't.
Warning! Microphone is incomparable with Poly, Jabra, etc. It just good enough ;)
Thanks for sharing, Maikeru
Could I use this for Sports Coaching? I need to be able to play music through a bluetooth speaker but also use a wireless headset to speak to my participants. I use an old Android phone for my music which is connected to the speaker. Can this headset be connected to my phone and then output my voice to the speaker?
Unfortuantely not, you would need some sort of mic/speaker combo like here amzn.to/3QG8g7n
FANTÁSTICO
what is the difference between opencomm c102 2021 and asc100 2020 model?
Hi Linus, we don't have the exact answer to that. That being said, one is 2020 and the other is 2021 so it leads us to believe it could just be a newer version with further improvements from 2020 to 2021. It looks to be the exact same headset though.
If you live outside USA you don’t get the discount 😂😂😢
We don't ship out of US or Canada at this time :(

👏
no glasses friendly
I wear glasses and have no issues wearing Aeropex literally every day.
@@ChrisStaley914 what about the arms of the glasses?
@@dom6477 you have to put shokz on first and then your glasses, this way you won't have any issues, at least I never did
