Fantastic in-depth review! I have the shokz pro I use for working out, my wife said I’m yelling when using my headphones in calls. Ill definitely pick up the UC2
Ear plugs are standard accessory for me as I'm often in a very noisy environment. But people can hear me clearly without problems which is very good. I wear them most of the time I'm awake, 7 days a week, for a couple years now. I do a lot of construction, maintenance, up on buildings and high ladders, etc. My previous headsets usually lasted a few months if I was lucky. Original opencomm . And I wear glasses. And I can just move the arm up a little and it effectively mutes. I'm also dirty, grimy, often covered in grease and paint and whatever and t don't think I've ever cleaned the Opencomm headset, the silicon sheds grime apparently. Another friend said he didn't like the microphone boom but then I told him that I can't see it so I don't care and he tried mine and then got his own.
I like the mute button, however I would have wish to see a small red led showing up, to indicate when it is muted, especially nice when accidently activated or when i forgot about the mute... I would also like the ability to have a busy led on during a call on the HEADSET itself, not only on the dongle (Application could allow us to use the power status light to be used as a busy light, so that coworker see, that you are in a call.) What are the advantages of using the Loop110 vs build in Bluetooth?
"Never Enough..." I don't normally comment on reviews here, but for yours I felt compelled. I am a fan of Open Comm and love this headset, was about to buy a second, only to discover the 2nd gen. with a mute button. SOLD. Now down to your review. Man, the best one lots of detail and love the humor attempts.😅 Keep up the great work. I subscribed too. Thanks so much!
Have you experienced issue with other end of the call hearing the "Mute Off" prompt when unmuting with the physical button? Recently been told that it can be faintly heard by others on a call...
@@alexandrosr5179 that’s a shame . I ended up buying Bose quiet comfort for music instead . I’ll hold onto my jabra evolve2 65 for conference calls and my Aeropex for listening to podcasts .
It’s not ideal in places with high levels of ambient noise … I’ve found them to be near useless in an airplane near the engine for instance. They are better for like shopping and walking around outside - taking a call in a office is good
I use ear plugs when I want to hear music or podcast really well when I'm in a noisy place. My work van is very noisy and I can make calls and hear but if I need to really hear and converse I put in some ear plugs. My friend with them does the same in his semi.
@@neverenoughtech is the mute on and the beep present with teams without the loop110? That would be my main concern. I have sent a ticket to shokz to ask for compatibility as well. Will keep you posted.
I hope they fixed the microphone boom issue in this second version; After a while (8 months in my case) the microphone stopped working. Luckily Shokz sent me another unit (generation 1 again) that I hope will last at least another year.
I Just Want To Use These In Bluetooth Mode With My ZFold3 . My OpenComm 16 hour.Battery Was More Like 20 Hours. My 10 Hour Claimed Battery On My OpenRun Pro Is More Lime 12 To 14 Hours Per Charge .
I use aeropex because I have issues gunking up my in ear headphones. I also dislike the pressure that over ear headphones apply on my ears. It’s a no brainer.
Does this headset allow for listening to music at the same time as being in a call? Some wireless headsets will change the codec being used when the microphone is active, and music sounds much worse while in a call with someone. I know this is the case for the normal OpenComm2 since I was able to test that, but not sure if it is also the case for the UC one since it has the Loop110. Have you tested this?
@@neverenoughtech yeah I want to have a bit of background music while being in a call! Would really appreciate it if you're able to test this for the UC one, thanks in advance!
Hi, FWIW - I use OpenRunpro (I don’t run) and the mic noise cancellation exceeds my expectations. I can wash dishes - noisily- and the other person can’t hear a thing - i asked them.

Still love mine

They need to add you to the promo videos!
This review gives Welcome to Dr. Sheldon Cooper presents Fun with Flags vibes, so nice!
His videos are much cooler because he got a girl (Amy) to get on screen with him sometimes
@@neverenoughtechThis was the most enjoyable and thorough video review I've ever seen
Great review! Thank you! Looking forward to getting myself one. 😊
Thanks! hope the set works out well for you

What are the advantages of using the Loop110 vs build in Bluetooth?
Advantages are better voice quality output and improved mute sync with the set and computer application
Will it pick up whispering …?

You’re in the exclusive group that sees the value of these awesome things 🙂. Appreciate the comment and sub
would you also recommend this set for ocasional gaming on a ps5?
I just want to know if I can pair this with my iPhone directly.
Hi. Great test. Do you know if it's possible to use the USB-C dongle (LooP) on a mobile phone equipped with USB-C connection ?

No I have not heard that complaint but I don’t doubt it’s happening to you. Could be my co-workers are more shy
Love the review and goofy jokes . I’ll buy it on Black Friday if there’s a deal
I thought I cut out all the goofy jokes 🙂
They are not in the black Fridays offers lol

So. They dont work with ear protectors for angle grinding etc

I know the sell point is not for top sound quality but it enough for music / movie in loud place like bus , train?

Do you know if the Loop100 works with Opencomm2? They are not selling the UC version in my country yet.
It may but you would lose capabilities - I would check with shokz to be safe

Is the distance improved with this model? I could barely go 10 metres into the kitchen without it breaking up on the UC 1 model using the dongle.
No - I found it to be the same
How do audio books sound while wearing ear plugs?
Fuller, more bass
Hey guys I start my first WFH job the end of this month I'm going to be using a Elitebook 840 G3 which loop110 do I need?
Just one guy, the loop110 type don’t matter just pair with opencomm2
Is it possible to connect an OpenFit Headset to the UC adapter from the Opencomm 2 UC?
No
Thanks! @@neverenoughtech
Would you happen to know if the headset works on genesys phone system?
If there is a way to connect to it via BT - at least a partial yes. But I am unfamiliar with that service so I’ll keep my advice brief

I Thought My OpenRun Pro Sounded Better Than OpenComm So Do These OpenComm 2 Sound As.Good As The OpenRun Pro
No, they sound just like opencomm (1) - it is voice focused at the expense of bass performance and bone conduction tech is two version old

Thank you , that was a noe review, I wish one of those with no arm , not the runner models , they don’t have a usb adapter, regards,
