Never saw an italian breaking spaghetti. There's a 1st time for everything
there are some recipes where you go to break noodles but you dont break them for recipes you dont need to like bolognese and things like that

@@hagesaks9 Not necessarily, it depends of the recipe, as you can see, that's a soup so it is perfectly fine to break the pasta. For spaghetti with a sauce you may want to keep the pasta as is.

First time I see an italian to break spaghetti
It depends on the recipe. This is more of a "soup" and meant to eat with a spoon, so it's acceptable to break the spaghetti.

Chef, very nice recipe, looks delicious, tip for folks, if you can't find chick peas they may be labeled as garbanzo beans, cici beans, cece beans as all are the same thing. I recommend the brand "Goya", cost only about .20 cents more per can, but the best canned ones I have ever eaten & worth the extra few cents

This recipe looks like one of most populars Chilean recipe called "porotos con riendas" (beans with reins) but instead of the chickpeas we use beans and pumpkins
uahahaha, I didn't know it's a thing. I do sth like that when I am in a hurry, sometimes I use sausage, chorizo, or go vege with smoked peppers, but my second fav one is fish/seafood. Not always with chickpeas though. It's always good :)

This dish is even better if you purée half of the chickpeas (with the water from the can) so you get a thicker creamier sauce.
Might worth trying. However the pasta cooks for around 10 minutes, absorbing liquids, plus its starch will emulsify the fats from the pancetta and oil.
Whats next? Making carbonara with cream?
