in this quick update you will see some really big news for After Effects!
After all those years we are now able to import 3D objects, such as OBJ and GLB with textures!!
Before that was only able with plugins such as Video Copilot Element3D, but now this works native in after effects.
You can add a camera, lights and as many different 3d objects that will interact in 3D space.
With the new Mercury Render Engine, you can almost work in real time and if you choose a draft render setting, you are super fast!

Hello, I just updated the program to the new version that already supports 3D but when I place a GLB file what it previews is a message that says: 3D model for use with tradcode.
Do you know anything about why?

when i import my obj into after effects beta, it looks different the color don t appear the same and all pixelised yet when i open it at the same scale on photoshop it looks good, have you experienced this before ?

Hi!
I use After Effect 2024 version and also new beta version. When I import 3D objects in After Effect, I get errors. Error is : Advanced 3D Plug-in generated an unexpected exception. And If I click OKEY, the program closes by itself.
How can I fix it?
I delete After Effect and download again and again. But it isn't fix. My RAM is 32GB and my card is 6GB. I can use classic 3D.

bruh i use ae 2023 and i'm trying to import my .glb file but it doesn't let me import it...
do you have ios or windows? i couldn't import my .glb files too, until i changed the name from: "name" to "name.glb" (idk why it didn't work, it was a glb file too but the suffix "glb" was hidden .. but when you unhide it then it works) sorry for my bad english

downloading something on sketch fab as a GLB, but when I import it into after effects it comes up as a black screen. Anyone having this issue?

How do you change the texture or displacement maps?
you can’t in ae currently! it’s still in beta. you’ll have to find .glb’s with textured already within the objects!
you'll have to apply the textures in something like blender, then export again and import in after effects
After Effects 24.1 (official release) now supports 3D models natively. It was released today.
