I just want to say that these videos are a God send, And exactly what I'm looking for. I stopped reading about a year ago halfway through book 3, I want to recap before I try to get back into the books again. I especially like how at the end of each chapter you point out the differences between the book and the show. This is the perfect way to recap the books without having to spend days re reading when I already read
I've watched the series like 2 years ago, and it's brutally beautiful masterpiece, and i realise that there's some hidden fact and lack between the series and the book, so i start to read the book. your videos help me so much to understand and those ilustration is good! i like your voice too :)
Excited to find this channel, then taken aback to discover the videos apparently play the same background song for hours and hours. There’s gotta be another solution for the background music. Fixing that might help the numbers.

However I absolutely can't stand Roy Doltrice's narration and could only get through the first and half of the second book. So thank you. I can't wait to steam through these.

I can't tell if you're intentionally misprinouncing many of the names (KATElin, ILL-i-roy, red-WIN, LICE, etc) or really have never heard how GRRM says those names are pronounced

When he explains how The Others may be justified in their attacking Westeros I believe he has some strong and valid points. I also think this is kinda the issue with the fandom. The Others are ice zombies... I don't think that can be debated I also don't think it's best to try and make them more than what they are. It's fun to speculate and wonder but these overly complicated story threads that mean nothing and just added context are useless, fun, but useless. And the over examination of some things in the books, I think, has caused George to change things and create stories that don't make sense. The Robert Frost poem makes sense and probably is why Barristen Selmy has the final chapter in Dance, being Dany and Jon's metaphorical go-between. But the Others being too imbred and wanting to take Westeros for... Genetic makeup or whatever is just insane. Their magic, they have the wildings, why would they ever have to worry about that? They want death for the sake of death like any other zombie. Also Sansa liking the Royce guy is something I didn't remember but it's always nice to find little tidbits like that.
Idk it youll see thia but this video has helped me a lot. Ive been listening to the first book while at aork so its easy for me to miss things sometimes. This video helps me retain the information better

My personal theory about who sent the direwolves: Bloodraven sent them south of the wall alongside Gared (he was instructed by cold hands to guide the mother direwolf and her pups and when he got further south the wolf ran away and was then attacked by the Stag) who was saved from the Others and escorted by Cold hands to the same gate Bran eventually uses to get north.
I always wondered why Benjen never told Ned about the Others & how can a true blooded Stark of the North like Ned couldn’t conceive the idea of the Others but a Southerner & a follower of the Seven like Catelyn didn’t think it was mad that the Others still existed even with her Measter not only believing they don’t exist but even denying they ever existed at all

I hadn't considered the possibility that they may have trouble procreating. I figured that if we were to put ourselves into a White Walkers Point of View and go back to the story of the Night's King and his Union with the starry-eyed woman really sounded like more of a marriage Alliance. And the whole giving them children seemed to me to be almost perverted, or monstrous form of giving a child to another house as a ward. My reasoning for calling it an alliance is the marriage of the Night's King and the Starry Eyed Woman itself, along with the sacrificial chamber in the heart of the nightfort, seemed to imply to me at least, that the wall was built at least in part by the others themselves. It just all sounds a lot like an arranged marriage to secure an alliance along with a boundary line agreed upon by all parties

I don't get it. If Robert arrives shortly after the wolf pups are found, how can they be so large by the time the children depart from Winterfell?
I guess because he stays for like a month and they grow fast to survive in the wild, but they aren't finished growing when Robert leaves winterfell

I hadn't considered the possibility that they may have trouble procreating. I figured that if we were to put ourselves into a White Walkers Point of View and go back to the story of the Night's King and his Union with the starry-eyed woman really sounded like more of a marriage Alliance. And the whole giving them children seemed to me to be almost perverted, or monstrous form of giving a child to another house as a ward. My reasoning for calling it an alliance is the marriage of the Night's King and the Starry Eyed Woman itself, along with the sacrificial chamber in the heart of the nightfort, seemed to imply to me at least, that the wall was built at least in part by the others themselves. It just all sounds a lot like an arranged marriage to secure an alliance along with a boundary line agreed upon by all parties
