Fun review! I think the one area the Pixel 8 could really improve is battery drain - standby drain through the night is in the realm of 1-1.3% per hour which I think is pretty poor (ideally I would expect something like 0.5% or less), combined with a pretty fast drop in regular use, especially on 5G. Not sure if the Big G can improve/ fix this via software update, or is it deeper in the G3 hardware?
I think, they can still get this fixed via an update. It's more about an adjustment on how much battery the apps and system are training, rather than the chip. At least, I've been pretty alright with the battery. Don't know if they fixed that in an update over the last two months, but yeah.

@@thesamuelnam I've been bingeing your videos all month, I feel the same way about the fact that you watched one of mine! Thanks for the credit :)
Awesome content Samuel...retention is on point, love the jump cuts, they work!! Very very clickable thumbnail👌👌
I'm not even going to watch another video... I'm subscribing now! This was the most fun review I've ever watched. Keep it up!!
This video gave inspiration to start a YT channel, I have been too shy to start one because every videos I watch on YT are all well furnished and finished professionally but this video just shows how YT is supposed to be. And I’m going to buy pixel.
Best Video on Pixel , Google should pay you for this Vid 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Call screening isnt actually google only. New motorolas have them as well!
oh you're right~ that's awesome. We need this to be standard across all phones. Can't get over how useful it is. Get a kick out of pressing screen call when I think it's spam.
@thesamuelnam ikr!? It's sooooooo useful. I switched to an s23 when I dropped my moto 5g ace in a river (whoops) on a camping trip and it's one of the features I miss the most, second only to the robust gesture controls motos have had for the past 4 or 5 years, phenomenal overlooked midrange phones!
that feature alone is what made me put my main sim into it@@FutureKLX300SMowner
This is the most fun phone review video I have see. Had me laughing. But it was also informative. SUBSCRIBED.
About the standby drain. Try the phone facedown for the night so the display is not active
Hi, I am a new subscriber from the Philippines 🇵🇭 I had so much fun watching this video. Especially emphasizing the smallest details about the phone. I wish android would adopt the single tap wake feature. Anyways, thank you and keep on making videos♥️
The genuine honest review every new subscriber ....Stay true my friend
THANK GODD SOME SAID IT >>> I GOT MINE 8 AND THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WAS HAPTICS ...UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS A DEFECTIVE PIECE AND I HAD TO REPLACE BUT IT ONLY TOOK 4 DAYS TO GET NEW ONE !!!!
My main phone is an iPhone 13 Pro but I bought a Pixel 7 Pro because I'm an app developer. Pixels are by far my favorite Androids.
So glad to always see your videos! One question, IM currently rocking the Pixel 8 Pro and I know that you are someone that uses their phone quite a bit due to work, so why wouldnt you get the Pixel 8 Pro instead of the standard 8? Anyways, Love bro
Hey Samuel, I was just scouting for pixel 8 real world usage videos to get a better understanding of the upcoming 8a that I am planning to buy and stumbled upon your videos in the recommendation list just after watching TheUnlockr's video, have to say your a totally different vibe compared to the most reviewers out there, I enjoyed a lot and especially the mention of "retired people" for acrobat. Subscribed!
Thanks man. Check out my latest video did a 3 day in the life with it compared to Zenfone 10.
Love that lovely noise in the background 😅❤
lol. I’ll have her speaking behind every sponsor read.
That kiddo in the back be like, "I like your words magic man"
Very cool video! I am using a Pixel device since last year october and am very surprised, how good it actually is!
Man, your channel is incredible!! Hello from Brazil!!
Also enjoy how fun this is. New sub
Google pixel specializes in software, photography (videos included) and nice builds. They also do have nice haptics.
Good choice I have the same phone and ain't looking back either
Hey mate, love your work and the little sprinkles of humour. Just watched this and the only question my wife had……. Where is the place you got your pork rolls?
LOL.. I'll tell you, depending on where you live.
@@thesamuelnam we live in VIC but my wife travels to Sydney and a lot of other places for work. Never underestimate how far she will go for a good pork roll.
Haha here's the list:
1. Top Ryde Bakers house (20 min wait)
2. Marrickville pork roll (5 min wait)
3. Bankstowm Banh Mi Bay (10min wait)
@@thesamuelnam legend mate, she reckons Bankstown for the win.
If you are ever in Melbourne she recommends
Bun bun bakery in Springvale : 5 min wait
All condiments made in house.
Quite enjoyed the vid. Love finding Australian content creators.
