- My mate meet me at Duffield station and took me to all these locations, and we were lucky It only rained at the first location.
It was also good planning that while we were filming the shunting moves around Duffield at the end of the day we manage to visit the local pub twice.
On another video one day I will explain what that class 58 is doing there.
Class 47 D1842 was 47192, and is on hire from Crewe Heritage Centre for three years I believe.
Shame about the bloody weather, rather unlucky you had to take shelter in a pub . Lol

It’s good too hear the sound of the old 31 again they were a very common sight on the system once upon a time. That 47 looks absolutely immaculate.

Underpowered old dogs but br fell back on them over and over again so they couldn't have been that bad
Some good stuff up there Mike. I'm guilty of not taking a visit, which I must put right. Love the four and a half as it ticks over, reminds me of road learning Bristol many years ago. Especially enjoyed the DMU's. Keep 'em coming Mike, you're on a roll lately.....
I will do my best Julian, I did visit another preserved railway last week which I had not been to before.
Some very good shots of what appears to be a very tidy railway with pristine locos.
It was my second visit to this railway Brian, I must say I did enjoy Fridays visit more than last time.

hello Mike, great video.great to see proper trains,i remember that derby lightweight dmu single unit in 1967,,it was used on the twyford to Henley line,i presume it was covering for the 121 which was in for service. i was only 14 at that time.but trains were trains then unlike now.

Interesting viewing Mike, I've never been to this line myself. Quite a bit of stock there for a fairly short line. Nice to hear the old DMUs and diesels at work, snd what a superb job they've made of 47192 at Crewe before loaning it out.
Darren I was told by one of the volunteers that the 47 is there for three years, yes I enjoyed my visit to this railway. Cheers Mike.

Great video Mike!! I love the Ecclesbourne valley railway! Went there when I stayed in Burton on Trent not too long ago! Brilliant diesel action you got! Love that 31! Although, when I went there it was nice and sunny! Cool to see a old DMU being dragged by a loco!

Have visited there once but was unable to do the incline line. Great footage of a great little line Mike. Maybe a case of "Rose coloured spectacles", but imagine a gala in X years time with classes 15, 23, 28 and 10000🤣
I have had never been to the depot end before Paul, and I don't think I will be around when that 10000 project will be finished.

That 47 looked immaculate. Good to see 31601 still in the DCR livery. Much rather it was still on the mainline with them though. Thanks for sharing though Mike. First class as usual 👍🏻

I am surprised that no preservation group have rebuilt a class 31 in it’s original condition with a Mirrless engine.
In most cases Its always down to money Martin.

Sorry I don't know what its called or where it is as my mate took me there, all I can tell you is its a foot crossing about 150 meters from the main road.
