All I can say is that I’m so happy you have finally decided to tackle your window. Not an easy decision with all the unknows but you are amazing and can do anything, you just have to believe in yourself.
No winter tarp!! Morning sunlight in the winter! So many good things. Those stones you got suddenly made the job seem sooooo much easier. I am so excited for the next video. Yippeee!
I think the window will bring in tons of light and make the winter and rainy days more bearable…then you can build some nice shutters for the summer Life by Living UA-camrs just built some nice ones! Great video!
Kirsty, everything seems to be coming together for the window. It will be fabulous when it is finally installed. So happy for Sinead with the safe arrival of her family. All the best to you both. Take care.

I really am so fortunate to have many friends and neighbours to help when needed. It's a lovely community here! Thanks for your always encouraging comments, they're much appreciated by myself and Sinead too!
@@PortugalfromScratch Thank you Kristy for always saying nice thing's back to me.❤️.You and Sinead and your family's.God bless you all.Raquel.Have a blessed day all of you.🤗.
Be brave buckaroo!!! You're on your way to window success. Look at how that lintel went up that seems like a good omen for the rest. Enjoyed watching the van triumph. Thanks for having me over.😊
Yes it is all coming together for you with that window I am so pleased for you. Those stones look perfect for the lintel and sides etc outside. Saying this in a positive way but oh my Sinead is her mums double in every way 😂 Absolutely loved Sinead's mum positive and bubbly just like her daughter 😊 Looking forward to part 2 in the meantime the wood lintel indoors looks great 😃
Yes I was very lucky with the stones! That's Sinead's aunt, cousin, and her cousin's boyfriend. I wasn't that clear when I was greeting the visitors on camera. 🙂
Bless your heart. You have so many odds and ends going on and busy with a little here and a little there. May you get your barn finished, your window as well.
The stone find is wonderful!!! Great progress on your window. I can't wait to see it finished and I'm sure you are thrilled at being so close to finally having your window. Will the window be able to open and close to let in a breeze? I sure hope so.
A quick hello from your new neighbours up the track to the White House. Love watching you guys, the progress you’re making, the background weather and the landscapes. Good to see the beers flow with Rogerio! Shaun, Karen, Jericho
Happy for you to have finally found the courage to start working on the window. Some more natural light in cold and grey winter days can be a game changer. Also, have you considered opening another window from the roof ?
Hi! So, that window is finally coming together. It's been a bit of a struggle, to say the least. I'm not sure what kind of window you're looking for, but I'd recommend avoiding wood. Given the temperature fluctuations and humidity in Beira Baixa, wood just isn't the best option. Also, make sure you create the opening for the window before you order the window itself. And if you can find a standard-sized window, it'll be much cheaper than a custom one. Keep up the good work!💪
Thanks for the tip! I was going to have. wooden window made and I know the risks but I recently save some very nice faux wood7aluminum ones so perhaps I can look into that. Thanks!
Great that Shenae’s (not sure I spelled her name correctly) family there. Good idea getting help with the window. There will amongst other things be a lot of heavy lifting I think and those long folks will make things easier for the shed.
Louishe/Luis seems like a good guy to know for all of your projects and, based on his beer glass clinking, a fun guy. A language practice buddy, perhaps?
It's so much fun when family comes to visit, even if they're not yours. I was wondering how you were going to manage lifting those lintels into place. I love hoe Sinead and her family have a song for everything.
Oohhh!! Things are coming together! I hope you can get done what needs to be done before Sinead's family leaves so they can help get the stone lintel up! Hugs from 🇨🇦
I think they’ve got their hands full over at her place and I don’t think I’ll be ready by then… but these long stirs are way more manageable so I should be ok with sinead’s help when the time comes. 🙂
Hi Kirsty! Yes! Always leave them wanting more! Kudos to you on your confident push on the window construction. Will you eventually have a window on the other side for flow-through ventilation? I'm looking forward to seeing the next bunch of videos. Sinead and her family add to the excitement. Take care of yourself and happy trepidation. I understand it's never quite the challenge we expect it to be. I admire you for constantly challenging yourself. xo Angela
Thanks! I'll have a skylight up above my shower area which is on the opposite side from the door, but no window. It's the north side and the way the land behind it is, it wouldn't work. I'll put a vent on the bottom of that wall somewhere eventually, though.
@@PortugalfromScratch Right! Now I remember you having mentioned the sky light. Your home is going to be beautiful! As Portugal is so dry and I'm guessing you're going to have your kitchen sink in front of the window, perhaps you can put a passive air conditioner of attached terra cotta tubes that sit in the sink when you complete your skylight? Water drips over them and the drying effect cools the air flowing through. I"m pretty sure you've heard of them. I'm guessing that you could also put a system in front of your door in the summer. All you need is a small dribble of water and stacked terra cotta tubes in a frame. The length of the tubes aligns with the air flow.
