Last winter you had the beautiful accent wall to look at, this year you can look out a window! 🙌 So exciting. Do you have a seating situation for “out the window” viewing? Maybe a hammock chair hanging from the mezzanine?
Hey Kirsty! What a great post! It's nice to get the branches taken care of and get some mulch for your garden. Looking for mushrooms is a really popular thing to do in the Mediterranean. It's a lot of fun, especially if you have an expert along and can safely cook up what you find. Yum! Your lemon tree looks really healthy. I guess there are more lemon products to be made. And Woo Hoo! you're ready for the window. The sill is gorgeous. I hope it comes soon. Your little house is going to look so good when the interior walls are finished and with the new window, you'll have so much to look at, inside and out. Good luck with getting your window and the wood for your tool shed. I hope you have a great week. Angela
I'm so pleased you got the sill planned and cut it has made it a bit easier for you. Just a thought about covering the sill with plastic until the window has been fitted and you have done the lime up the sides.
Another awesome video!! All the can peppers in Mexico have sliced carrots in them and a few sliced onions!! Try it with some!! The carrots are yummy & spicy!!
Yay for the sill. I hope you're looking out your window next week. You've done an incredible job, Kirsty, this will make another substantial upgrade to your home. ❤
Kirsty your new wooden window sill, looks beautiful!!!!! Hoping the window man will arrive soon . to in-store your much needed window. Glad your close friends visited you both, and they could help, with wood chipping and burning the brambles . Lovely you all enjoyed a mushroom adventure together.. Kirsty, it is very special meeting friends from about 10/ 15 teen, years ago. Best friends never forget, a very special time you and Senad enjoyed
I certainly could have used those handy-dandy clippers when I was trimming my Xmas tree. Now my hand is sore from the exertion 😢 I can hardly wait for the window! Your view is so lovely and I can imagine you standing and looking outside with a nice mug of coffee in your hands!
Before Manuel's piece of (window) art arrives, you will have time to create the window shutters - and as you like a good challenge (as evidenced in the past ;-)), you can even work on producing plantation shutters 😊 - they would look divine under the pergola 🥳
Another job well done and I hope the fella doing your window doesn’t leave you high and dry . You got a lot of mulch for your garden beds and that chipper what a god sent that is one piece of machinery that is needed when you have so many trees on your property. It’s great that you have a good circle of friends that are able to lend a hand when you need them . Great tour around the timber yard that’s something we don’t get to see every day . Where I used to live they would cut down trees and chip them up and I thought what a shame when the could have been milled to put to better use . Look forward to seeing the progress in the next video.
The chipper is great. I can't help but think of some of the original homesteaders who would have been so grateful to have one as they cleared the land. Can't wait to see the window in place and I am sure you will enjoy the light it provides inside. Merry Christmas.
Great chipper creating lots of lovely mulch for you all 😊 The window sill looks great can't wait for Manuel to install the window for you (and to see your choice 😊). Great job with the chillies 😊
Something really satisfying about burning the shrubbery and chipping the branches. And having your friends to help is a nice bonus! Great job with the sill and taking the bull by the horns by going to the woodshop. Now, is it time to storm Manuel’s window shop? 😂😂😂
Great little vlog. Loved some of your editing, eg the chillies going in the container and the pruning one plant and seeing all. The window sill is a triumph. That should make you very happy. Well done Sinead, working hard as always!
Lovely piece of timber, and lovely job on the sill. Hoping Manuel comes through with a beautiful timber window, before Christmas. Great video. Thank you. :)
it's the perfect sill. he's taking to long... you go to his shop ask him "oh manel! o raisparta da janela tá a demorar mais que a sé de braga, pá!" (the $/% window is taking longer than the sé de braga church, mate!) he'll say instantly that it's done and be there tomorrow 7 AM! 😜
Kristie, you may already watch this, but there’s an another UA-camr in Portugal named Andrew ( channel just changed names; now called Rustic Crow). He had an incident with expanding foam in video #183 that you might appreciate. Scroll to about 6:20. That expanding foam can surprise anyone, even someone who’s used it before!
The problem with North American houses, is no sills! I love yours, it'll look great window and final render, and you'll enjoy being in the kitchen I'm sure with that gorgeous view. BTW, is your car in for repairs? I think I missed that somewhere.
I’ve given you a thumbs up, to be honest I watch many diy channels, but yours has to be the slowest, drawn out content I’ve come across. I still watch, but I fast forward to see any results. See you on the next one.
I'm slow, what can I say? 🙂 I make videos of whatever it is I happen to be doing. I have a life besides the build and filming and editing as one person takes a lot longer than you might think.
Wow the sill is gorgeous. Wondered if you could please add some gift cards to your Amazon gift list to make it easier to donate to your cause and you could use to order items in the priority that you need them? Just a thought.
@vanessagray8604 yes, you have to get authorisation at any time of year now in Portugal to burn debris, piles & any other type of forest or agriculture residue or face fines of up to €60,000. Scary stuff!
The window seal is beautiful.
Thanks!
5:58 it´s a Morchellaceae mushroom
Thanks, good to know!
The front of your house is looking so good! Almost all finished up with the face exterior. Door, pointing, window. Looks really nice!
Thanks!
The sill is so lovely, beautiful wood 🪵
Thanks! It's Douglas fir.
That window sill is absolutely gorgeous. Good job!
Thank you!
Great work on your window and you have a lot of patience on your building skills. 😊
Thank you! Lucky for me since I go so slowly! 😁
Last winter you had the beautiful accent wall to look at, this year you can look out a window! 🙌 So exciting. Do you have a seating situation for “out the window” viewing? Maybe a hammock chair hanging from the mezzanine?
Yep it'll be great if this window ever comes! No space for a hanging seat but I'll try to position my work desk to see you.
I think I know why you enjoy that wood yard…. it’s an organized chaos….. much like your garden 😂 great waking up to your shenanigans 🇳🇱🙋🏽♀️
I love it there!
The sill fits great. 8 like how chunky it is.
Me too, thanks!
I lit a bonfire last week & didnt wear a hat 🙄 have had to have my hair cut really short to rid the singe ☹️ 😂, love the window sill
Oh yikes, thanks!
Your podenco is so adorable!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Jasper! He's lovely but belongs to my friends. 😀
Great to see the window sill in place! With the window in place the exterior of your home will be charming.
Thank you!
Well done Kirsty on the windowsill. Looks great. XxKathleen
Thank you!
Short cut first, long cut last as it could put strain on timber that creates crack and break, especially grainy wood
Good to know, I always do it the other way around but not for any specific reason. 🙂
Place a bottle or can upside down over your stakes to keep them from punching thru the plastic covering your pepper plants.
Great idea! But the problem was more about the shape of the cloth being too unruly.
I think you are skilled enough to make your own window. ❤
Thanks but I don't think I'm there just yet and I don't have a workshop or proper tools... one day I will try!
Love the sill. Shoutout to Emmanuel.....let's get 'er done! Kirsty needs her window!! Cheers from the homeland 🇨🇦
Thanks!
Read the headline and clicked immediately! Thought you made a still!
Finally got that part in... I really need this window to come!
The sill looks fantastic! Great job! Getting so close. I hope Manwell, (sp?) comes through sooner than later!
Hugs from 🇨🇦
Me too, thanks!
That’s great that they do all that at the wood yard. That window sill is beautiful.
Yes I love that place. Thanks!

Ya it's been a busy but rewarding week, for sure! My lemon tree is looking fabulous again this year!
The Window (Window hole) Seal is looking fabulous, I'm excited it is finished!
Thank you!
We were taught by our fire guys to use the blower on the fire. Works amazingly.
A leaf blower, you mean?
@PortugalfromScratch yes
I'm so pleased you got the sill planned and cut it has made it a bit easier for you. Just a thought about covering the sill with plastic until the window has been fitted and you have done the lime up the sides.
Yep I plan to cover it when I do more lime work. I still need to figure out where I'll be liming to.
Looks beautiful ❤
Thanks!
Label each pot and take a picture (before would be nice) and after to see which ones grow best next year!
Good idea! When I get them in place I'll try to remember to do that.
I think you need to add a wood table to your to do list. 😊
Yep!
Your window And the sill is beautiful ❤
Thanks!
Another awesome video!! All the can peppers in Mexico have sliced carrots in them and a few sliced onions!! Try it with some!! The carrots are yummy & spicy!!
Sounds delicious!
My dear young lady I have been watching you for ages now well done and hope your happy ness grows .love Ricky french pigs ear renovations
Thanks so much!
Good work with the sill 😊
Thanks!
Yay for the sill. I hope you're looking out your window next week. You've done an incredible job, Kirsty, this will make another substantial upgrade to your home. ❤
Me too but still no sign of the guy.
@PortugalfromScratch 😪

I can hardly wait for the window! Your view is so lovely and I can imagine you standing and looking outside with a nice mug of coffee in your hands!
Yes me too, it'll be a great place to do dishes, that's for sure!
Beautiful wood for the window sill!!
Thanks!
Before Manuel's piece of (window) art arrives, you will have time to create the window shutters - and as you like a good challenge (as evidenced in the past ;-)), you can even work on producing plantation shutters 😊 - they would look divine under the pergola 🥳
Yes shutters will be a fun but tricky challenge!
Late season ghostpeppers in mind...do you/ have you produce your own seeds for planting next season?
Ah! I totally forgot about saving seeds this year!
Sill looks great!
Thank you!
Great job
Thanks!
Lumber yard/saw mill very cool! Love those big slabs
I love that place!
Another job well done and I hope the fella doing your window doesn’t leave you high and dry .

Me too! I'll go to his workshop this week and see what's up. The chipper is amazing and I love that wood yard!
Beautiful window!
Thanks! So close!
Wood heaven. 😊
Yep, it’s great!
I love the stairs you dad built...all covered with plants
By the way,you can thread those chillis on a rope and dry them for future use
Yes, they're great!
A great idea, I didn't even think of drying them.
The chipper is great. I can't help but think of some of the original homesteaders who would have been so grateful to have one as they cleared the land. Can't wait to see the window in place and I am sure you will enjoy the light it provides inside. Merry Christmas.
Chipping is so much better than burning and leaves a great resource behind in the chips.
It's a thing of beauty that window hole 🥰❤ yaaaaay Kirsty! May your window be installed before Christmas!! 🙏😁
Thanks so much!
Thank you 🙏🏽 great job on the sill.
Thanks!
Hi Kristy! Stop waiting for Manuel, he doesn't seem like a serious guy. I'm sure you can make that window yourself.
I'm getting impatient but I think making my own window is too hard for me without the right tools and workshop. one day I will!
@@PortugalfromScratch You can try to find a second-hand window of approximate size and adapt it.
Great chipper creating lots of lovely mulch for you all 😊
The window sill looks great can't wait for Manuel to install the window for you (and to see your choice 😊).
Great job with the chillies 😊
Thanks! Yes me too... I just chased him yet again!
You have more sense than I, lit a bonfire last week & didnt wear a hat … had to have my haircut short to rid the singe ☹️😂. Merry Christmas 🎅🏼
Oh yikes! I didn't even think of my hair, lucky me!
Something really satisfying about burning the shrubbery and chipping the branches. And having your friends to help is a nice bonus! Great job with the sill and taking the bull by the horns by going to the woodshop. Now, is it time to storm Manuel’s window shop? 😂😂😂
I might need to! I sent another message today, but let's see!
Window looks amazing. Love it.
Thanks!
Acho linda acasa d pedra
Obrigada!

Thanks! I put a lot of time and thought into the filming and editing so I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Nice work Kristy.
Thanks!
Something about the the mesmerization of watching a fire that is so peaceful. Love your window work.
I agree! Thanks!
You nailed it. Looks great.
Thanks!
I have chipper envy ❤. Great job. There is always a need for clean mulch!
There is, I love it!
good job.
Thanks!
I’m fairly new to your channel and I absolutely love it.
Welcome, I'm very glad to hear that!
The window sill looks great!
Thanks!
Lovely piece of timber, and lovely job on the sill. Hoping Manuel comes through with a beautiful timber window, before Christmas. Great video. Thank you. :)
Yes me too, thanks!
it's the perfect sill.
he's taking to long... you go to his shop ask him "oh manel! o raisparta da janela tá a demorar mais que a sé de braga, pá!" (the $/% window is taking longer than the sé de braga church, mate!)

Haha I might just try that!
Hi welcome back greak to c u😊
Hi!
Essa janela deve vir da Oceânia 😊
It seems so! 🤣
Good job ❤
Thanks!

I love a windowsill, too! Thanks! Ya it was in for repairing an oil leak.
❤❤❤
😀
Wat zal het mooi worden als het raam erin zit. Ga je dan gelijk die keukenmuur afmaken of eerst buiten het afdak maken. Groetjes
Thanks! I think the canopy will be next.

Hi Kristi , biw🎉
Hi!
👋🏼 was that a morel mushroom ?
I think someone thought that but they changed their mind…
I’ve given you a thumbs up, to be honest I watch many diy channels, but yours has to be the slowest, drawn out content I’ve come across. I still watch, but I fast forward to see any results. See you on the next one.
I'm slow, what can I say? 🙂 I make videos of whatever it is I happen to be doing. I have a life besides the build and filming and editing as one person takes a lot longer than you might think.
Can the chillis be dried and turned into chilli flakes?
Yes probably but I haven't looked into that for this year. Next year! 😀
When are you going to make your shack into a liveable shack?
I'm working on it... but it's already liveable, I'm living in it now. 🙂
I mean, make it decent 😮
It's a long work in progress. Check my video Friday to see how far it's come.
Wow the sill is gorgeous. Wondered if you could please add some gift cards to your Amazon gift list to make it easier to donate to your cause and you could use to order items in the priority that you need them? Just a thought.
Ah that’s a nice idea, thanks!
🎅🏻🎄🌟👍👏🍀💐
🙂
I read that you have to have permission to light a fire in Portugal - that you have to request authorisation. Is this correct.
@vanessagray8604 yes, you have to get authorisation at any time of year now in Portugal to burn debris, piles & any other type of forest or agriculture residue or face fines of up to €60,000.
Scary stuff!
It is correct, you need to register on a website and then drop a pin to your location with the date you plan on having the fire.
Yep! The website sort of sucks but once you figure it out it's all quite quick and easy.
Comeon now manual get the window done
I know! I bugged him again today so let's see!
Ja das ist ja toll nun hast du dich so beeilt und das Fenster kommt nicht würde eins kaufen im Baumarkt aus Plastik
I already ordered a wooden one to fit the size of the hole… I have hope! 😀
Phallus Impudicus or Common Stinkhorn :) They smell horrible!
I know! They're so weird with the green goo on them, too!
Du bräuchtest einen Aufsitzrasenmäher und ein paar Schafe.
I enjoy strimming and my land isn't big enough for sheep, but maybe in the future with Sinead!
