  • We wanted to test the 342 mile claimed range of our 2 year old 20k mile Cupra Born, so took it on a road trip.

12:39 now that tesla chargers are open to non teslas, i dont know why, if you have ccs, anybody would even consider using the compitition. I bet they are 30p pkw more expensive than teslas rates.

I think that the Volkswagen Group's cars with the 77kWh batteries only have two seats in the back.

I think the 25YM now comes with 3 seats in the 77kwh model

Not correct, my Skoda Enyaq on the Volkswagen MEB platform with 77kWh battery has three seats in the back as does the Volkswagen ID4. Also on the same platform with three rear seats are Ford's Explorer and Capri.

@@davidrolfe9571 they Born did only have 2 seats in the rear when mated with the larger battery pack before the MY25 came out in June of 2024. Since then all Borns have 5 seats.
The 4 seats decision had something to do with weight issues in some markets. I think in Australia they still have just the 4 seats (with the large battery) It may not be Aus, but one country defo still had this restriction when it comes to the born at least.
It's probably to get under some tax threshold that's measured by weight at full capacity for a certain segment size of car. So by removing the rarely used centre seat, you take away the weight of an average person from the equation.
I have a 5 seat Born but I actually think it's looks better with just the two in the rear. But it's convenient when needed. But that's hardly often, and for a car aimed at younger drivers, over family drivers I don't think the not having the seat was much of a turn off.
But it must of been in some level for them to re tool the system to add the center seat for the majority of the world.
The new Born EV spec car is a model 25 year car.
